Altaf Hussein's wrong assessment.

.
.
.
.
Just maybe, Altaf Hussein is out of touch with Pakistani politics living as he does in exile in London for so many years.

Does he seriously think that a military coup will solve Pakistan's problems?

Does the shameful events of Abbottabad mean nothing to him?

Does the events of The Mehran naval base mean nothing to him?

Has he never wondered why Sindh, Baluchistan, East Pakistan and the NWFP experience such bloody political turmoil involving the military and OTHERWISE...................but rarely the Punjab?

Has he never heard of the word destabilization? How military people destabilize civilian governments so that they can declare marshal law, and takeover? Does he not know what happened in 1958, 1977, 1999?

Has Altaf Hussein even thought of the possibility that what is going on in Karachi NOW may be a distraction by the military to deflect negative attention away from their failures, which has become so widespread/popular throughout Pakistan?

Has Altaf Hussein even heard of the Swat Taliban numbering 3000, who in 2009 were threatening to take over the whole country, unopposed by the Pakistan military, armed with just ak-47? Was there a remote possibility that the Swat Taliban was a destabilization operation run by the Pakistan military?

Has Altaf Hussein even heard of the ISI set up by the British in 1948....who since the 1970's have trained up 500,000 Jihadis with ops against Sufis, Shia, Ahmedis, Christians, India, Afghanistan, and Iran?

Does Altaf Hussein seriously think amoral billionaire crook Zardari, brought into power by the Pakistani military after they killed Benazir will seriously challenge the Pakistan military? His only concern is money and loot surely.

Doesn't Altaf Hussein not know that it is the Pakistan military which currently runs Pakistan's foreign and SECURITY policy, AND any failure on these two front's is the failure of the Pakistan military.

Doesn't Altaf Hussein know that the JEWSA has always been the biggest arms donor to the Pakistan military, greater than any other nation by 10, SO if the JEWSA criticizes the Pakistan military NOW then from their perspectives isn't there something seriously wrong with the Pakistan military?

Does Altaf Hussein think it goes against the tenets of Islam to criticize the Pakistan military?

Does Altaf Hussein think criticizing the Pakistan military is a no-go taboo subject?

Does Altaf Hussein think the Pakistani military are filled with men that can count their descendants from the heirs of Akbar the Great, Babur, Alauddin Khilji, or Muhammad bin Tughluq. .......who thus epitomize martial perfection, prowess and IZZAT?

Opposition Figure: Pakistani Govt, US Conspiring Against Military

High Profile MQM Conference Leads to Condemnation of Zardari Govt

by Jason Ditz, at antiwar.com

Altaf Hussein, the founder and leader of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), has a history of condemning the Zardari government, but today used a high profile party conference to accuse the civilian government of secretly being in league with the US to undermine the nation’s military.

Hussein cited recent “conspiratorial behavior” by the government, particularly in its actions in Karachi, as evidence of his allegations. MQM is a hugely powerful party in Karachi, and recent political violence in Karachi has centered around tit-for-tat attacks between them and the ANP, a faction allied with Zardari’s Pakistani People’s Party.

Last year, Hussein responded to a split between MQM and the PPP to call for a military coup and the declaration of martial law on the grounds of growing corruption among the government’s officials. He condemend US support for the government then as well.

Hussein’s comments reflect growing discord between the civilian government and the military, both of which seem to be losing credibility at an alarming rate in the wake of the nation’s unpopular involvement in the US wars in the region and both of which are keen to deflect blame.
