U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, has had her Colin Powell moment like when he went to the UN Security Council and presented lie, after lie, after lie in pursuit of a seal of legitimacy for George W. Bush’s illegal bombing and invasion of Iraq in 2003.
It was a shameful moment in American history and a proud moment for neocon war-mongers everywhere. I’m talking about today.

The neocons were outraged when Trump and Sec. of State Tillerson announced an end to the 6+ years of Obama regime change operations in Syria last week. They were mortified that the Deep State would not get their prize. That the Kurds would not get Greater Kurdistan. War-mongering trolls like Sen. John McCain were livid at the thought of a president coming into office with a plan of his own to end his predecessor’s regime change terrorist operation.

Today Nikki Haley has gone before the UN Security Council and held up phony “evidence’ in an attempt to motivate them into voting for a joint resolution to invade Syria and remove Bashar al-Assad from office. She waved around pictures of children, USING KIDS AS PROPS ONCE AGAIN, in hopes to shame them into a vote for more war and death… AND MORE DEAD CHILDREN of course.

Listen to the logic she employs to make her case. It’s like a 12-year-old’s debate class mid-term project.
“We do not know everything about the attack. But we do know yesterday’s attack bears all the hallmarks of the Syrian regime’s use of chemical weapons… we know that yesterday’s attack was a new low for the barbaric Assad regime“
Just that quickly, in three sentences, she went from admitting there is not one single shred of evidence that the attack happened or who it came from… to saying it was a “new low” for Assad. Done. Finished. Assad did it. What she basically said was: “We don't know anything about the attack, but evil Assad did it and he must be punished”

As Haley reads her scripted statement, she delivers her lies in the same, sing-songy wooden manner that Hillary Clinton used to. Talking about dead kids and chemical weapon usage like she is reading the daily action reports to a board room of stock holders. That should tell you something right there.
The press today asked questions of Trump at his meeting with the Jordanian leader that were tantamount to “so what you gonna do about it? Let Assad punk you like Obama did?” I mean, it’s outrageous. They are LITERALLY screeching for war.
I can’t wait to hear fake progressive Rachel Maddow doing her Bill O’Reilly circa 2003 impersonation tonight.

And they’ll all be doing it because.. well… let’s face it… launching a war would be a hell of a lot better for them than watching Susan Rice twist and turn in front of a congressional hearing.

Maybe this is all because Trump was leaning toward ending the regime change operation. Maybe they just needed a distraction from the Susan Rice thing. Maybe Trump just wanted to sound magnanimous the other day before this thing kicked off. Because maybe someone hasn’t given up on this yet:
Or maybe the Russians were right and they hit a chemical weapons munitions depot cut out of the rock in that area where we see all the victims in the staged videos and the war-mongers figured they could spin the attack into something in their favor that served all the interests I listed above.

Unlike our UN ambassador, I am not going to come to any conclusions without any facts to support them.

Fortunately, at this point, Trump and Mattis are being a bit coy about how they intend to proceed.

Haley says if the UN doesn’t authorize a “humanitarian bombing” based on this staged bullshit propaganda, then the US may just “go it alone” again. But last time I checked, Nikki Haley isn’t the Commander in Chief. Maybe she wants to be. But she isn’t right now.

Tell you what, this is what you get when you don’t prosecute war-criminals from previous administrations. Obama should have been arrested. Hillary should have been arrested. And Bush/Cheney should have been locked up LOOOONG ago.

That’s why you see these less than creative criminals retooling performances of criminals past. Yeah, this is her Colin Powell moment and it’s pretty sad.
