(I am not aware that the Iranian navy during the 1980--1988 war...closed the Straights of Hormuz. Not even for one second . But rather that clumsy attempts to attack neutral ships from 1984 in International waters, and mine the Persian Gulf with a few mines, were resolutely met by counter-measures by the USA, who sank one Iranian frigate the Sahan on 19th April 1988, using aircraft-carrier based fighters planes...and virtually destroyed another Iranian frigate, the Saland. In the previous year they also destroyed the Iran Ajr mine layer. After which in 1988, a few days later Iran sued for peace with Iraq........these illiterate donkeys, with their fake university degrees create false history. But in the realms of sacred national defense it is very dangerous to build ones national defense strategy based on....lies, falsehood, inaccuracy, mythology and political propaganda. Very dangerous.

The commander of Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has warned Iran's enemies that any threat against the country will be met with a crushing response from the armed forces.
“In case of a possible threat against the country’s borders, the [Islamic] establishment’s enemies will face a crushing and firm response from the armed forces including the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy,” Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said on Saturday in Mashhad.
(Iran will be attacked from the air by jet fighters, stealth fighters, drones and cruise missiles.......AT first. They will target land targets, FIRST. Those people who are against Iran have stated as such, so the navy and the IRGC navy WILL PLAY no role, in fighting against these attacks, at first)
Referring to Iran's statement on closing the Strait of Hormuz in the face of threats, Fadavi said, “The Islamic Republic has the ability to[carry out] what it has stated and has proved this during the [eight years] of imposed war [with Iraq].”
(You donkey dog liar! Iran NEVER closed for one second the Straights of Hormuz, during the 1980-1988 war. Iran suffered a crushing defeat of 2 frigates destroyed, and 2 oil platforms destroyed in 1988...and one mine layer destroyed, the Iran Ajr in 1987.......without any losses suffered by them.
The attack on neutral ships by Iran 1984--1988; mining international waters 1984--1988; AND NOW the alleged threat to close the Straights of Hormuz are BAD STRATEGIC POLICIES, as has been argued by me since 2005 to YOU in CLEAR TERMS.
In war, if any nation attacks a peaceful nation, then it is the duty of the peaceful nation to attack the attacker.....BUT NOT WIDEN THE WAR to attack Third Party neutral nations such as India, China, SE Asia, Japan, South Korea...all of who's oil goes through the Persian Gulf/Straights of Hormuz.
To close it would be donkey dog stupid, and would send the price of oil sky high, which will not benefit war torn Iran, as American/NATO air-power will destroy Iran's oil industry , BUT will benefit the oil bourses of Rotterdam, NY, and London..and of course Western oil companies.....AND THE $ CURRENCY, as the international trade in petroleum is largely still priced in the $.

Further American sanctions against Iran are not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of prospective war in the future. The USA for example imposed sanctions against Japan from 1931, which were later further intensified in 1937, and then final war, where Japan was put in an impossible position economically and the military leadership of Imperial Japan subsequently reacted and made a strategic mistake of attacking the USA in 1941......Roosevelt wanted war with Japan, and British spies provided the Japanese military with secret information about Pearl Harbor which persuaded the Japanese high command to attack in 7th December 1941......BUT they should not have.
Further as PRESSTV itself has pointed out, the mighty USA is not run by Americans but by International Zionists who take their orders from Israel. Therefore, although it may SEEM illogical from a rational perspective that the USA is NOT in any shape to wage further war in the Middle East, against yet another Islamic country to help little Israel......these Zionist leaders of the USA may indeed launch further wars regardless of the USA's condition, for the sake of Israel, even though most Americans are peace loving people who are sick and tired of America's continued involvement in war in the Greater Middle East........these International Zionists may bankrupt America if they feel it serves Israel's interests. I will give some advice in the current circumstances, that must be thought about in Iran. It is similar advice given to Iran by me during 2006--7, when there was tension and talk that GW Bush was about to attack Iran. The advice that time was given via IRNA, but now it is given by this blog, and is essentially the same:
(i) Don't react to Israeli/American/British obvious baiting. Keep cool, say nothing.
(ii) Don't advertise yet another military exercise.
(iii) Don't advertise military tactics of missile attacks against Israel, or closing the Straights of Hormuz.
(iv) Keep ALL military developments in the realms of R&D, and mass production secret. )
( The American most certainly can win a quick war against Iran, but they are merely being careful, since they have been fighting for 11 years now since Afghanistan, and have incurred significant war costs of perhaps up to $3.7 trillion and human loss, especially for the army.

A senior Iranian commander says the United States is not capable of military engagement with Iran in the Persian Gulf and this is why it has resorted to sanctions.

Fadavi stated that Iran's missile power has greatly increased compared to the past and what US knows about Iran's missile capacities is much less than what it doesn’t know.
“The reason why the US has put its full force in oil and economic sanctions is that a military option against the Islamic Republic of Iran will be of no avail to them,” Fars News Agency quoted the commander as saying on Saturday.
Fadavi further noted that the US and the Zionist regime of Israel have had bitter experiences of 33-day war [with the Lebanese Hezbollah] as well as wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
(1. Against Hezbollah in 2006 Israel only committed about 1% of its ground forces of about 12,000 men and women for 34 days. The main focus was the Shock and Awe air campaign, written in the USA and used as an experiment in Lebanon with significant American logistical help...cluster bombs, and other smart weapons systems supplied to Israel for free, specifically to observe the performance of the THEORY of "Shock and Awe", and the performance of American hardware in live battle situations....that is why the head of the Israeli operation in Lebanon was an airforce man Dan Halutz Israeli Air Force Lt. General and Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense. Israel carried out an air campaign which inflicted $20 billion worth of infrastructure damage (read Iran in the future) and 1300 civilian deaths....a dry run for Iran, later. Israel lost 120 servicemen, thats all. Lebanon had no airforce, or credible air-defense (read Iran again)
2. In Iraq, the American defeated CIA Saddam in 1991, and 2003, unless the donkey dog terms these as Great Iraqi victories. Further the Americans killed 1,000,000 Iraqis through sanctions 1991--2003, kept a very intrusive spying operation in Iraq via the IAEA WMD inspectors led by David Kay, who was a CIA spy, and Scott Ritter also a CIA spy (read Iran...where military sights are being marked for future attacks by the IAEA inspectors). Then the Americans invaded the country, and killed 1,500,000 Iraqis and turned another 5,000,000 into refugees, by getting different Iraqi fractions to fight each other, under the theory of the Salvador Option. Then the Americans divided the country into 3 separate ethnic entities, and further destroyed the country.......for ALL this great work the Americans only lost 4,800 men.
3. In Afghanistan in July 1979 the American's created the Afghan Mujaheddin (AND Mullah Iran) through the Pakistan ISI dogs, and Saudi and GCC money. It was also used by the CIA as a huge opium operation. The Soviets were defeated, and then in 1994 the USA through the ISI, and GCC money created the Taliban. Then the Israelis/Americans carried out 9/11, which was blamed on their agent Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan.....Then the Americans attacked and invaded the country in a few days and defeated the Taliban. Since then the USA has occupied the country for 11 years and is planning to build 5 super-bases for future ops in Iran, Pakistan, Central Asia and China...50,000 Afghans have died since the occupation, and most probably more. The Donkey Dog sees this as an American defeat, but I see it as their calculated success.
