US generals, admirals sign letter in support of Iran agreement

The
United States retired generals and admirals have signed a letter to
back a nuclear agreement between Iran and the global powers.

The retired brass said there existed “no better option” than the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) reached between Tehran and P5+1 and backed by the UN Security Council in July, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday.

The letter was the latest expression of support to the administration of President Barack Obama, engaged in nuclear negotiations with the Islamic Republic, amid opposition by the Republican-weighted Congress in the backdrop of a row between US dominant parties.

“And if the deal is rejected by America, the Iranians could have a nuclear weapon within a year. The choice is that stark,” read the letter.
(False premise of the letter, and of the American negotiating position which defacto the Iranians had to accept in order to settle the agreement, and get sanctions relief from a negotiating position of weakness, where the USA amassed all the major powers on their side except India/Japan.....in 36 years mullah Iran has never had a nuclear bomb program.....the mullahs shut down the Shah's ambitious civilian nuclear program in 1979, and only tentatively re-restarted the civilian nuclear program from 1985, when they learned that CIA Saddam had a nuclear bomb program. Re-Starting means completing the German built Bushehr site, which had been first planned in 1975.....and some research centers.
Should the Jews do a devious dirty on Persia under a Republican Jeb Bush presidency from 2017, and use their IAEA puppets to make a false claim and with draw the agreement and its relief via a fake Niger Yellow Cake scenario, the mullahs will not rush to build a nuke bomb in 1 year, because:
(i) They haven't rushed to build any nuclear bomb for the last 36 years whilst at war with Iraq for 8 years, and facing a 1000 threats from nuclear bomb Israel.....and that won't change in the future under the puppet mullahs brought into power by the USA/UK.
(ii) The mullahs are opposed to nuclear weapons ideologically and have said as much to their audience in Iran, loudly, vociferously, clearly and repeatedly. If they suddenly produced a nuke bomb, North Korea like...Israel like...Pakistan like. They will lose enormous credibility with their Iranian constituency. The mullahs are first and foremost realist pragmatic politicians with a penchant for petro-$, and looting money from the Iranian economy, the fore most requirement of which is to stay in power and further which avoids iffy security misadventures.....AND not pure military strategists with plans to out do the Eretz Israel plans.
(iii) When the CIA started supplying chemical weapons to CIA Saddam from 1984 since they were losing, the Persians didn't respond in kind. Chemical weapons are the poor mans nuclear weapons, and were easily accessible in the international market via neighbor's Turkey, Syria and Pakistan. CIA Saddam used the chemicals weapons from 1984--88 where 10,000's of Iranian troops were affected. For a truly Aryan Persia it is as important how one wins a war, as it is merely about winning. Incidentally, the medieval knight with chivalry in Europe dates back 1000 years to Sassanian Persia via Iranian Ukraine.
(iv) After this so called 'agreement', Iran's civilian nuclear facilities will be severely restricted in terms of capability....and strictly monitored for a period unprecedented in IAEA inspection history. In such a scenario it will be difficult for the puppet mullahs to suddenly break with form and pursue an inexplicable urge to build one single nuke bomb...North Korea like. What would be the point?

The letter was signed by senior generals and flag officers, including four-star Marine Gens. James Cartwright, former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Joseph P. Hoar, former head of the US Central Command; and Gens. Merrill McPeak and Lloyd W. Newton of the US Air Force.

Last weekend, 29 leading American scientists wrote a letter to Obama, calling the agreement, reached in Vienna on July 14, “technically sound” and “innovative.”

JCPOA will “provide the necessary assurance in the coming decade and more that Iran is not developing nuclear weapons,” it read, adding, the historic agreement “will advance the cause of peace and security in the Middle East and can serve as a guidepost for future non-proliferation agreements.”

The Obama administration has to retain enough Democratic votes in support of the agreement as pro-Israelis are busy campaigning against final approval of any accord with Tehran by the Congress.
