Obama To Make All Wars Covert Wars—He’s Running Scared
[Obama's speech and the following report about it are total bullshit...disinformation at best. Nobody has any intention of ever ending this war, no matter how many times Obama claims to be doing it. He has no more intention of closing Guantanamo Bay today than he did the last time he promised to close it. The very fact that Team Obama has made this public speech about ending America's "perpetual wartime footing," is proof that the Establishment is running scared over anti-war and anti-police state sentiments. Perpetual, or "persistent war" are descriptions of the American terror war that have come straight from the Pentagon itself. The fact that Obama felt it necessary to disassociate his administration from this idea of a "perpetual" war or a thirty-year war, is proof positive that this is a very touchy issue.
.
We the People are slowly starting to catch-on to the schemes of the American ruling class, worrying all of them that we will figure-out what they have been doing to us before they get finished fucking us. This is why Obama is giving this speech
.
(SEE: Obama Trying To Make Rape Look Like Seduction ). It is good to know that the idea of an American awakening gives the Big Bosses a little trouble sleeping. It is way past time to repeal the completely worn-out AUMF (authorization to use military force) from the 911 attacks:
.
"To authorize the use of United States Armed Forces against those responsible for the recent attacks launched against the United States."
.
Since we are no longer engaged anywhere with any of the "al-Qaeda" factions which have been blamed for the attacks, and because we are now allied with some of those same "al-CIA-da" groups in Syria and in Africa, the government should be forced into producing a brand new "authorization for military force," defining precisely who we are fighting against into the foreseeable future, and even more important, why we are waging war against them.]
Should President Obama end the war on terror?
.
He came to talk about the future, but the past keeps pulling him back.
.
President Obama outlined his vision for a revised American counterterrorism policy during Thursday’s speech at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., renewing his call to close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay and announcing new guidelines to govern the use of targeted drone strikes on foreign soil.
.
Animating many of the president’s proposals was a stated desire to “discipline our thinking and our actions” and to move America away from a “perpetual wartime footing” that has held sway for nearly 12 years, since Congress passed an Authorization to Use Military Force [AUMF] in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
.
The president pledged to “work with Congress” to “refine and ultimately repeal” the AUMF, warning that a strategy of “perpetual war – through drones or special forces or troop deployments – will prove self-defeating, and alter our country in troubling ways.”
.
Simply put: While “our systematic effort to dismantle terrorist organizations must continue,” the president said, “This war, like all wars, must end.”
.
While Mr. Obama has spoken before about the need for a return to normalcy of sorts in how America views and responds to terrorist threats, rarely has he expressed that point so baldly and called for an outright “end” to the nearly-12-year old conflict.
.But should the “war on terror,” as we know it today, be drawn to a conclusion, given the continued threat posed by terrorists? And with the hypersensitivity attending public discussion on the issue, is it politically realistic to expect a declared end to the “war on terror” any time soon?
- Obama: America at a “crossroads” in fighting terrorism
- Drones, Guantanamo part of broad Obama counterterrorism speech
And the “political realities” of zero tolerance for terrorist attacks on the homeland will jeopardize “any attempts to limit our [counterterrorism] actions,” added Zarate, also a former deputy national security adviser in the George W. Bush administration.
.
“The most important advance in the speech was the acknowledgement that the war will end at a foreseeable point in the future,” former assistant secretary of state for public affairs P.J. Crowley told CBSNews.com. “This will require an unwinding of policies, authorities and tactics that have accumulated over the past dozen years.”
.
But if the immediate reaction to Mr. Obama’s speech is any indication, some in Congress are not so keen on abandoning America’s post-9/11 counterterrorism policies, with several Republican senators blasting the president for what they fear is a premature pivot.
.
The president’s speech “will be viewed by terrorists as a victory,” Sen. Saxby Chambliss, R-Ga., said in a statement. “Rather than continuing successful counterterrorism activities, we are changing course with no clear operational benefit.”

Neoliberal Terrorism Decimates Distracted Nation While the Terrorists Write the Laws
Posted by Scott Creighton at American everyman.
.While we are distracted by little pressure-cooker bombs, shaking in our boots over internet radicalized extremists, the real terrorists are skimming off the entire wealth of the nation into their pockets, one city at a time. And while we worry about cointelpro ops breathlessly hypothesizing about “weather weapons” making tornadoes, the financial oligarchs are writing more legislation in order to enable them to do commit even more terrorism against us and our future generations.
.
It’s reality of the absurd and there’s just no other way of looking at it.
.
In Chicago, Barack Obama’s personal friend and former Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has pushed through the largest wave of public school closings in history in his effort to Race for the Bottom. The closings will adversely effect countless students in immeasurable ways and cause immense hardships to the communities they served. Teachers, administrators, workers will all be out of jobs as well as the numbers of small businesses who served the schools in one form or another.
“The board, appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D), opted to close 49 elementary schools and one high school after the current school year ends. It decided to keep open four additional schools that had been recommended for closure by Chicago Public Schools CEO Barbara Byrd-Bennett.This draconian attack on public education is done in the wake of the derivatives bombs unleashed by big finance years ago. That terrorist act, a real conspiracy between government, lenders, rating agencies and Wall Street, decimated the public structures of America in order to allow them to remake them in their neoliberal privatized model.
The decision came amid vocal protests from the Chicago Teachers Union, parents and some Chicago aldermen, who said they were concerned that the closings will tear apart neighborhood fabric, disrupt families and force children to cross gang turfs to attend other schools.” Washington Post
.
The schools in Chicago have been axed in order to allocate the funds for the for-profit public/private school system Rahm and his cronies are working diligently to support. That model is openly supported by the likes of Oprah and Bill Gates to name just a few. The collateral damage of these children’s lives are meaningless to our new oligarchs. Like Clinton’s Secretary of State once said regarding the deaths of half a million kids in Iraq due to our sanctions, “We think it’s worth it”
.
In Detroit they aren’t done squeezing the very last nickel of public wealth from that devastated town either. Now they are after the people’s art.
.
The banksters and financial terrorists who destroyed our economy and are currently destroying our republic are still looking to get paid for the worthless derivatives they manufactured, sold us and then bet against. The people have to pay and pay and pay and when you look at a city like Detroit, it’s industry gone in the first wave of neoliberal outsourced globalization, you might think they have paid enough.
.
“No so” says the vile maxim of the masters of the universe. “Nothing for you. All for us”
“Officials say the Detroit Institute of Arts’ collection could be sold to help satisfy creditors if the financially troubled city of Detroit seeks bankruptcy protection.Detroit’s appointed emergency neoliberal mergers and acquisitions Gordon Gekko says nothing is “off the table”. They can put up the art collection, owned by the people of Detroit, at rock-bottom prices for a select handful of their oligarch friends to add to their multimillion dollar collections hidden away in their opulent mansions far out of reach of the pitiful hordes of humanity who paid for them.
Bill Nowling, a spokesman for state-appointed emergency manager says Kevyn Orr, says Orr is considering whether the collection should be considered city assets that could be sold to cover Detroit’s long-term debt. The debt is estimated at more than $14 billion.” Fox Detroit
.
This is the “vile maxim” in it’s purist sense. It’s what we did to the historic art collections of Iraq and Libya and everywhere else our oligarchs choose to take us in the name of democracy and humanitarian interventions. They take trophies like hunters take heads and they are proud of them showing them off to select groups of insiders like themselves. Buying things to people like this holds no real satisfaction. At this point, with so much wealth looted from the people, buying things is a petty show of power. The real thrill is looting things, historic things, things that a community would not part with unless absolutely forced to. It is the ultimate triumph of Shock and Awe neoliberalism.
.
While all of this is going on and so much more, a little story in the New York Times is garnering the expected yawns from the public.
.
The banksters and the financial oligarchs are writing legislation dealing with the new regulations which will supposedly keep the banksters and the oligarchs from doing this terrorism to us again.
.
To put it in perspective: bin Laden is leading an al Qaeda team to head up the official 9/11 Commission Report.
.
Yes, it’s that ridiculous and it’s happening right now.
“Bank lobbyists are not leaving it to lawmakers to draft legislation that softens financial regulations. Instead, the lobbyists are helping to write it themselves. The myth here is that this is a resurgence. Wall Street never left D.C.
One bill that sailed through the House Financial Services Committee this month — over the objections of the Treasury Department — was essentially Citigroup’s, according to e-mails reviewed by The New York Times. The bill would exempt broad swathes of trades from new regulation.
In a sign of Wall Street’s resurgent influence in Washington, Citigroup’s recommendations were reflected in more than 70 lines of the House committee’s 85-line bill. Two crucial paragraphs, prepared by Citigroup in conjunction with other Wall Street banks, were copied nearly word for word. (Lawmakers changed two words to make them plural.)” New York Times
.
They were given everything they wanted in the bailouts which continue to this day to the tune of 80 billion a month. Every bill in some way or another benefits the stock market or big business. Tax loopholes haven’t been shut down, they’ve been expanded. The Fed was supposed to be audited but has anyone heard a word about that anymore? Obamacare is nothing more than a bailout for the insurance monsters who have literally destroyed our healthcare system for their own profits and now we have a supreme court ruling saying the unconstitutional mandate is constitutional.
.
Even when forced in a pathetic settlement to right a few of the wrongs they did to homeowners, they simply ignored those mandates and actually continued right along breaking the same laws and hurting even more people. They never stopped being terrorists because it made them so much money and there was no incentive mandated by the legal system to make them stop. So of course, they just didn’t. And they are getting away with it.
.
Wall Street and the big financial houses own both parties in D.C. They ran the artifice some called an “election” and are at the very heart of our entire foreign policy.
.
They never left. There is no need for a resurgence of their influence. Rather, they WON and their influence is like that of the Coalition Provisional Authority that we installed in Iraq just after bombing the country back into the stone ages.
.
There is no difference. We are being assimilated by the terrorist neoliberals at an astounding pace.
.
This is terrorism folks. They are doing it because they hate the system that was in place, a system designed to protect people like us from people like them. They are doing it in order to change our social and economic structure. It’s the definition of terrorism and it is horrific in it’s scope.
.
Jobs, careers lost, endless streams of wealth stolen from our retirement accounts and pension funds, children who will never realize their dreams, lost parents taking their own lives… and throughout it all a police state being established, whistle-blowers being punished, false flag attacks to divide and conquer the people pitting us one against the other.
This is terrorism folks. And it’s right there for us all to see.
