So apparently the small dispute has reached a compromise in Ladakh.......which both sides are touting and celebrating.
India and China logically should be working together, rather than scratching around looking for excuses to fight each other, over very small matters.
As China becomes bigger and mightier, India has gradually been tilting towards Washington/Israel through greater arms purchases from those countries, especially Israel, joint military exercises, and Indian military personnel training in the USA for the first time.
HOWEVER, no would be /wannabe great power makes its military subservient to another GREATER power through such close military exchanges, and purchase of arms, for OBVIOUS reasons.
India bows to China and withdraws further away from its OWN territory, and China leaves part of Ladakh, back to its Indian Occupied territory.

This incident will shut up AK-47 Anthony and his droning on about the Great Indian Blue Water navy for a while at least, as directed by his masters in London.
What India needs are less sexy military hardware, because:
(i) India is a poor LEDC country, with limited resources, which calls for more simple military systems which can be maintained and serviced in India.
(ii) AND because India spends such a small amount on defense....at $38 billion or just over 2% of GDP.
(iii) India is an inefficient disorganized state, which has had difficulty mobilizing for MASS MODERN WAREFARE.
(iv) INDIA strategically, looking at history, GEOGRAPHY and the current situation is a LAND POWER.....upon which ALL decisive wars in her history have been fought.
(v) Who can say if China suddenly flips politically into the Japanese type militarists of the 1930's who come to power in Superpower China. Who would have believed Jews in Israel behaving like Nazis.
Obviously the hope and prayer is that China is the NEW LIGHT UNTO THE WORLD, leading human civilization to the next level, but that is a mere hope.
So in the meantime invest in 30 mountain divisions, more infantry divisions in Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttrakal, and Arunchal Pradesh. 5000 more 155mm mountain artillery, 10,000 120 million mortars, 15,000 100mm AA Guns, Lt SAMs, Lt Atk guns....and so forth all MADE IN INDIA. AND more infrastructure in the area.
Since Indian officers like to lead from the front, and like to sacrifice themselves in a pseudo religious way(not taking the piss, but merely stating facts).....perhaps their numbers can be increased to 100,000 from the current 48,000, and the army from 1,500,000 to 2,500,000....regular professionals.
