What Kayani Can Learn From Putin

By allowing foreign militaries a free reign in our tribal belt to kill hundreds of innocent Pakistanis, Pakistan is committing the same mistake as Putin’s, who initially did well a decade ago by crushing the rebellion in Chechnya but now is creating more rebels because of highhandedness. Also, Pakistan has no business eliminating the Afghan Taliban, who survived the 2001 war thanks to US mismanagement. The problem should be solved inside Afghanistan, not Waziristan.

(There are no parallels with Russia here, so the analogy is wholly wrong. The Soviet Union broke up in 1991, and the various Soviet Satellites broke away, but the Chechen were within the geographical boundaries of Southern Russia, so the idea of breaking away for them, long held, was practically not possible. The Chechen achieved some measure of independence under Yeltsin, but Putin under a banner of Russian nationalism and populist revivalism, reclaimed Chechnya through military force, installing a puppet called Kadirov. Chechnya is geographically flat and contains about 1 million people, and represents less than 0.65% of Russia's overall population.

The foreign elements who fund the Chechen insurgency is minuscule and manageable from Russia's security point of view........and we may say that Russian intelligence and the Russian military are far more powerful and competent in dealing with such a minor problem in comparison to the Pakistani military security apparatus.......Russia is the 6/7 richest country on earth on a par with the UK, and a $2100 billion economy measured by PPP, with foreign currency reserves of $460 billion.....with more Euro Capital flights coming into the country. It is a stable Democracy, dominated by Oligarchical Jews.

Now Pakistan on the other hand is in a very different situation. It is a failed state, 9th from the bottom with all the problems of a failed state. It is dominated by the USA, and the Pakistani elite more or less follows the orders of the USA, even when it is all too apparent that certain state policies of Pakistan lobbied by the USA are clearly harming Pakistan.

The current President of Pakistan is a crook who served 8 years in prison, and has looted $3--4 billion from the state coffers, and through commissions.

If the Pakistani elite and especially the military are unable to pursue policies independent of the USA, which may benefit Pakistan, then its a bit of a pointless exercise theorizing how Pakistan might learn from Putin............Putin is Putin in charge of Russia. Kiyani by contrast has spent extensive time training in the USA in their military academies, conditioned to see the benefits of American power, and has developed considerable personal friendships through this training with American senior officers. With such a background he lacks the character to rebel, and reorientate fundamental state policy away and independent of the USA..........which is what Pakistan is crying out for.

So Ahmed Beta its not about "Good ideas" and their wonderful possibilities in a country, but observing the power structure and who follows who. America's problems can be solved quite easily, but again its a question of observing the power structure and who follows who. Kiyani.....the most powerful person in Pakistan can reject American directives, but he won't. Even though Kiyani holds considerable leverage over the Americans.......

the American military operation in Afghanistan would collapse without Pakistani cooperation.

Pakistan is a nuclear power.

Pakistan is conventionally a considerable military power, more powerful than Iran...15th in the world....out of 200 countries.

The USA is no condition to attack Pakistan directly.

Pakistan at any time can move very close to India and also China even further.......thus reducing the dependence on the USA.

BUT KIYANI WITH HIS AMERICAN TRAINING HAS BEEN CONDITIONED TO OBEY, AND NOT CRITICALLY CHALLENGE THE USA.

Also modern state craft is not so much about charismatic leadership, but about having sound state institutions which can effectively implement policies from the center throughout the country. Even if a Sher Shah existed within the ranks of the corp commanders of the top military brass, he still would have problems guiding the failed State of Pakistan into a proper path independent of the USA because of the fundamental structural problems of the Pakistani state, which fails the people at every level from failing to deliver education, health, transport, security, food, jobs, social welfare....and economic development.


But there are some Iranians in Pakistan and there are Iranians in Russia, but thats it.


The NWFP and Pashtuns represent 15-17% of Pakistan's population; is a underdeveloped region with little infrastructure or roads, and is mountainous. Pashtuns are 26% of the Pakistani military and intelligence, and are a critical force within Pakistani society...........unlike Chechens in Russia.


What Putin did in Chechnya has been much criticized by many in the International field, BUT Russia will survive such criticism. On the other hand what the Pakistani military are doing in the NWFP {2003---2010} can eventually lead to the breakup of the entire country, and provide the casus belli of foreign hostile powers to invite themselves in to "assist" Pakistan......as it struggles to deal with Pakistani insurgents.........so its far far more serious.

Millions of refugees in that region, people needlessly uprooted. lives disrupted, innocent people killed in the crossfire, physical destruction of property and landscape in what is already with Baluchistan one of the poorest parts of Pakistan.........this will inevitably lead to a general rebellion against the central government eventually.)

It was brave on the part of Pakistan army chief to publicly apologize for mistakenly bombing and killing tens of innocent Pakistanis in a Khyber Agency village. In a similar incident in 2006 during the reign of his predecessor, where a US missile killed up to 80 children in a school, the action was not only defended but the Pakistani military was forced to own it, giving the first signal to everyone that innocent Pakistanis can be killed with impunity as part of the war on terror. Since then, more than a thousand innocent Pakistanis have lost their lives as collateral damage in these ‘successful’ drone attacks. This would remain one of the darkest spots in our history where our rulers shirked their responsibility for the protection of every Pakistani citizen on our soil.

(The apology is meaningless, rather like the Pakistani military commanders going to Bangladesh frequently and apologizing for the genocide of 3 million locals and the rape of 500,000 women, and driving 10 million refugees into India.

The Bangladesh government finally after 38 years is initiating wars crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity charges against the perpe--traitors within the Pakistani military. Shabash!!!! Long overdue. In time we may see similar charges from Baluchistan, and the NWFP. There after the "Raj Poonjab Police Force" should be dissolved, and something wholly new replacing it, devoid of its colonial era MO and mentality, and reflex action.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the Pakistani military did not do these war crimes in the first place? The Pakistan military has killed more of its own people, than any other military in the world.

What the Pakistani military is doing in the NWFP after $ funding is nothing short of treason against the Pakistani people........but then again we must look at its history since 1947)

But the army chief’s apology is also an opportunity to review whether it is acceptable to have allowed ourselves and our American allies to import their methods of dealing with occupied populations ( as ) in Iraq and Afghanistan .......(and so also against) our own people inside our own homeland.

(Over due for the sake of the basic survival of the country)

This review is important because these imported methods of dealing with occupied populations are not only unsuitable here but are radicalizing our own citizens instead of pacifying them, producing more disgruntled citizens for our enemies to recruit, brainwash and use to kill more Pakistanis and spread mayhem.

(Yes, but Ahmed you should specify clearly without being girly shy who is responsible for reviewing this very important policy.......Zardari?...no...........Zamindari Gilani?.....no......Sharif and all the rich commercials?.....no.

The main responsibility lies with the COAS and corps commanders. They have the final and ultimate say in ALL security/strategic matters...........thats why important visiting Americans see Kiyani first, and why the American media as with Musharaf butter him so much.

The problem for Pakistan is that the Pakistani military operates on an unofficial doctrine of crisis management which basically means that the bulk of terrorist acts within Pakistan emanates from.................The Pakistan military or its various proxies.....anti Shia militia...anti whatever militia and so forth. For them, in their world view the loss of a few civilians is acceptable. Such a doctrine also explains why Pakistan has been in 4 wars against India, and two near wars.

The only foreign terrorist group which is operating currently against Pakistan is the TTP, which is USA funded, using ex-Guantanomo detainees, and ....yes angry Pashtuns. As with the Mukti Bahini backed by RAW, the ranks of the anti-Pakistan Taliban will grow, as the Pakistan military undertakes overt operations against the locals at the behest of the USA, and Pashtuns desert from the regular Pakistan army.........it is only a matter of time........Kiyani's superficial $1.2 million PR in Swat, with the backdrop of thousands dead and abused and $100 of millions worth of property damaged will come to naught........the ONLY solution is to not carry out such operations in the first place)

In using these imported methods we are committing the same mistake that President Putin, now a prime minister, has been committing in Chechnya for the past decade. He successfully curbed the insurgency and ended the ability of the US and other countries to use Chechnya to bleed Russia by covertly supplying weapons and intelligence to the insurgents. But instead of building on that success, Mr. Putin continues to use aggressive tactics in Chechnya, breeding more insurgents and more opportunities for outsiders to meddle. [The latest suicide attacks in Moscow involved a young woman who blew herself up because Russian military killed her husband].

(I am fully aware Ahmed that you are an ISI mouth-piece front, but I was hoping you weren't a kuta tati western backed journo disinformation agent sell out like Saleem Shahzad and Ahmed Rashid. But since the Western countries bankroll the ISI one should not be overly surprised as to your true loyalty.

The Russian Chechen problem is centuries old where a Christian empire attempted to subjugate a Muslim people (Chechens like many Russians are of Iranian stock.....and are a thoroughly interesting people, not unlike Pashtuns one may say)

As have been stated before the Russian military and intelligence agencies are more than competent in dealing with 0.65% of its people. We must not forget that the 800,000 former KGB was at one time the most powerful and effective intelligence agency in the world, and the infiltration of Chechen resistance was easily overcome. There is even vicious rumors that Shamil Baseyev and other prominent Chechen rebels were in fact controlled stooges of the KGB/FSB..................not unlike the many insurgents in the NWFP working for the Pakistan military covertly whilst overtly fighting the Pakistan military simultaneously. For most civilians this paradox seems wholly inexplicable.

The Swat Taliban was set up by the Pakistan military.

There is hard evidence that a lot of the terrorist ops in Russia by so called Chechen insurgency groups were in fact the work of Russian intelligence.........we know this, because we can observe and study so called terrorist ops in the UK, USA, India and Pakistan and from the pattern we can see that in fact ONLY state organisations could have carried out such ops. In Russia's case intelligence officers who were brave informed the Russian people that a lot of the so called Chechen terrorism was in fact carried out by Russian intelligence, so that the people would embrace the government as saviours..........Beslan......the metro bombings.......Moscow theater bombings.

In this light and history we may conclude that the recent timely bombings in Russia must have some ulterior motive.

Let us widen the horizon and see what is going on in and around Russia geo-strategically.

Israel along with its International Jew organisation is MASTURBATING itself into a frenzy of self rage over Iran's none-existent nuclear bomb program (in reality Israel wants to downsize ALL significant Muslim countries which Israel perceives might be a threat to the vision of Eretz Israel in the future.......a somewhat ill defined and wide policy.............Iran is a big Middle Eastern country of 75 million people).........Russia is important for both arming Iran, and resisting calls for significant sanctions against Iran.................which are a prelude to war. Then such terrorism in Russia by Muslims becomes "useful" and coincidental in that narrow Jewish narrative.

By repeating Western Zionist media cliches about Russian Chechen terrorism without bothering to check the actual alternative facts leads one to doubt the agenda of the author here)

The same is happening in our tribal belt. Just when we have stamped out insurgents and criminals in some pockets [thanks to Gen. Kayani and his team], here comes the collateral damage – both from CIA drones and our own occasional mishaps – to create additional pools of disgruntled citizens ready to be picked up by anyone who has resources to use them against the Pakistani state.

(Yep.......The main problem is the Pakistan military, who cause the greatest amount of collateral damage in Pakistan. The collateral damage in Swat alone by the Pakistani military surpasses anything which the American military have so far achieved in the whole of Pakistan. The Americans conduct these ops inside Pakistan with Pakistani military approval. Kiyani is a kuta of the Americans)

It’s a vicious cycle that destroys the massive nation-building work that our military is conducting in places such as Swat, with the military’s own money and often without any support from incompetent civilian governments in Islamabad and Peshawar. For example, few people know that our soldiers donated two days’ pay to collect US$1.2 million to renovate more than half of the 400 schools in Swat destroyed by terrorist groups. The army is building roads and restoring water supply lines in Swat, even organizing cultural and musical events to provide much need entertainment to a disturbed population and restore normalcy. Not to mention achieving the impossible by restoring two million refugees back to their homes in less than a year.

(ha! ha! ha!)

But all of this good work is eaten away by the kind of massive bloodshed that occurred on April 10 at remote Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency. Despite the brave apology, the accident will create new rebels and revenge seekers. It also brings into focus an old complaint about the veracity of intelligence that the Americans have and share with our military. Once again, the insurgency within our tribal belt is directly linked with the American mismanagement in Afghanistan. Allowing the Americans or anyone else to set up spy networks inside our territory and unleash private defense contractors in beards and local dresses is like allowing our own people and territory to be treated in the same manner as Iraq and Afghanistan, which are foreign occupied zones. This foreign element, including collateral damage and the faulty intelligence that causes it, is also sending a wrong message to ambitious criminal and tribal leaders and politicians, and that message is: the Pakistani state and its military are too weak to check foreign meddling and thus taking matters into their own hands is a legitimate option.

(This current mess is the responsibility of COAS Kiyani and the Corps commanders...........nobody else)

Another mistake that is bound to breed more enemies for the state is our faulty policy of not clearly asserting that the Afghan Taliban along with any other Afghan parties are legitimate Afghan political players. Fighting them is not and should never be Pakistan’s responsibility. The presence of some Afghan Taliban on Pakistani soil is expected to due to close ties between Pakistani and Afghan Pashtuns, but the solution is not for Pakistan to help US eliminate them but to resolve the deadlock inside Afghanistan that has resulted in the Afghan Taliban escaping their country to take refuge here.

(It is unseemly for an educated person who is clean shaven, apparently urbane sophisticated, supporting such a medievel monstrosity as the Afghan Taliban, set up jointly by the Pakistanis and the USA from 1994...........lost causes and bad ideas should be let go.....clinging to them is a sign of weak character.

Yes under International law every people have the right to self determination. This law evolved since WWII, in light of WWII and its horrific events and the post-colonial struggles of oppressed people through out the world and especially in the Third World. Under International law a people occupied by foreign alien powers can take up arms and fight, and it is the duty of neighboring countries to sustain, arm, feed those insurgencies whilst they win the freedom for their country.

We can cite many International cases under this law.

And so Afghans have the right to seek self determination, and it is Pakistan's International law duty to help them.......but given its true origin and its fundamental nature, NOT THE AFGHAN TALIBAN.

Finally it is morally dupliticious and dangerous to be both taking AMERICAN MILITARY AND ECONOMIC aid, and hosting the Afghan Taliban Shura in Quetta..........who go and kill American servicemen in Afghanistan)

Make no mistake about it: rebels who terrorize and kill Pakistanis must be eliminated by force and without mercy. But allowing outsiders to kill our people directly or through faulty intelligence means we will see suicide attackers for a long time to come.

(That won't be the worst of it.....believe me)

Demonizing Pakistan.

It has finally taken a US Republican Senator to see some sense and admit that there was no proof of any Taliban connection with Faisal Shahzad, and that the Obama Administration has been making its statements in this connection purely on conjecture.

(sounds alarming and dangerous, that the Obama administration should be making wild throw away accusations against Pakistan at such a sensitive time which is not based on facts against an "ally" in such a hurry, rather than holding their judgment........should clearly tell us something about the USA and its true intentions against Pakistan.

The Afghan Taliban is a nationalist force set up by the USA/Pakistan from 1994 that has never shown any Internationalist pretensions, against the USA or against anybody else.

The TTP is an American fiction created sometime in 2005 by the USA using ex-Guantanamo Afghan captives of whom there many at one time to keep in check the Pakistan military, and off balance the Pakistani state.....with terrorist ops, some of which involves attacking Pakistani military personnel of a senior level. Also possibly as retaliation for Pakistan's unofficial support for the Afghan Taliban.)

According to the top Republican of the Senate Intelligence Committee, US intelligence had no real proof of any Taliban link at all.

( "Moreover, nobody is certain that the “Pakistani Taliban,” otherwise known as Tehrik-i-Taliban (TTP), who allegedly claimed responsibility for Mr. Shahzad’s actions, was behind the attack. Indeed, the TTP told reporters that, although they cheered his actions, their organization had “no links whatsoever” with Faisal Shahzad.

“The Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan has had no links with Faisal Shahzad whatsoever,” the group’s spokesman, Azam Tariq, told reporters via telephone in Peshwar.“We never imparted training to him, nor had he ever come to us.”

Alarm bells should be ringing since TTP regularly went out of its way to claim responsibility for attacks, even when they had nothing to do with them. After all, nowhere does the adage “bad publicity is good publicity” have more significance than in the terrorist business. But in the United States, the “damage” is already done: it is practically etched in stone that the Pakistan Taliban – a group that just several months ago could barely lace up its boots – is responsible for Shahzad’s would-be act of terrorism......."American Everyman blog)

This is what the Pakistanis have been saying all along, including the Pakistan military. The TTP itself has stated it had no link with Shahzad, nor had it trained him. Given how the TTP routinely lay claim to terror acts across the world with no hesitation, and often when they are not involved even, if they had denied any linkage to Shahzad that denial should have been given some credibility.

(Not if the Obama administration has hidden negative agenda's against Pakistan.......then such manufactured incidents are an opportunity to lash out against Pakistan and thus show their true intentions towards the country.

Pakistanis are not high on the global IQ level, its after all a Third World country. It is further said in India that Punjabis think with their muscles. But at a certain point the Pakistani military top brass have to understand that the USA is not good for Pakistan, and is wholly stupid and a bit embarrassing for Pakistani officials repeatedly speaking of friendship between the USA and Pakistan, when the REALITY on the ground is quite the opposite)

However, the US Administration, for its own purposes, was so desperate to malign Pakistan and Pakistanis as monsters that it behaved in a most irresponsible manner towards an ally that has had its citizens shed their blood for the US cause.( he he he....uncle Tom speakin here, "Massa I be a good nigger slave soldier for you!!!!!) In the process, they have undermined the safety and security of thousands of Pakistani students and others living in the US; they have publicly and wrongfully sought to portray Pakistanis in a dangerous light and have almost forgotten that Shahzad is an American citizen.

(A billion Muslims have been maligned since the Israelis with their American agents pulled off 9/11 in Jew Noo Yawk and else where. By Contrast the Pakistani military top brass were busy helping the Americans sustain and create the "al-Qaeda" narrative.........so the Americans are saying thank you)

Ironically, in an effort to demonise Pakistan and Pakistanis, they have also conveniently forgotten that none of the 9/11 terrorists were Pakistani or had lived in Pakistan. But such sensitive details are lost on a US Administration that effectively is following the Bush policies on Pakistan.

(The Party has changed but not the policies in the USA)

Unfortunately, some US apologists in Pakistan have also been quick to jump on this US bandwagon and tried to show how middle class Pakistanis are all anti-American and capable of carrying out terror attacks against the US! No one is interested in the truth and all Pakistanis now are deemed to be guilty till proven innocent as far as the US is concerned. That is why the New York transport authorities (MTA) saw it fit to put out an advertisement directly targeting Pakistanis, which has since been removed from some places but not totally.

(This is the result of the Pakistani military for 30 plus years backing and arming Jihadis at the behest of the USA....................I think its called Chickens coming home to roost)

The worst part is that Mrs. Clinton as well as the US Attorney General who made the strongest Shahzad-TTP linkage in his statements have not seen fit to either concede this mistake or apologise to the Pakistani people for their histrionics and accusations. As for the haste in declaring the Shahzad-TTP link, clearly it had a purpose. It was intended to push Pakistanis into acceding to more unreasonable demands from the US - such as an immediate commencement of the military operation by the Pakistan Army in NWA and the increase in US troops on the ground in Pakistan. All this has also been accompanied by increased drone attacks on FATA. Meanwhile, Pakistanis stand maligned and abused; but who gives a damn?

(Yes obviously, and I hope the Pakistan military firmly and finally resists such requests of waging worthless wars against her own people.......and begins a comprehensive steady policy of pulling away from the USA................easy, there is China and India waiting..............alternative solid sources of help......HOWEVER IT SHOULD BE NOTED that India and China do not bribe foreign leaders to get a state on their side)

The East India Company use to de-legitimate Indian princely States before they were attacked by the company as corrupt, ineffective and thus unfit to govern themselves. The East India Company officials argued in their moral crusade that such conquered States required the effective expert benevolence of the Company directors to run them, accompanied as ever by fervent Victorian Christian evangelicalism.

The ground work for invasion was further laid by buying local generals such as Mir Jafar, and other important Public officials such as Mir Sadiq...........and in the case of the Punjab in 1849, it was a handful of men in the Sikh army and some civilian officials, so that the thoroughly modern Sikh army never offered a realistic resistance that would have been expected of it based on its fine reputation. Instead Sikhs after conquest, became the standard poster child dogs of the British Raj for more than 100 years. Indian subservience in the face of overt slights by the foreign occupying power......the disloyalty of a few men causing the endless suffering of millions of people under British colonial rule.

What of course in reality followed for many Indian States, under East India Company rule was total disaster......over taxation, $1,000 to $1500 billion worth of Indian assets transferred to the Rothschild financial empire in London. Overt misrule where ordinary Indians were subjected to humiliation by East India soldiers and officials alike, and finally gross mismanagement which eventually resulted in the death of possibly 30 million Indians between 1757---1947.

The disloyalty of a few Mir Jafar's causing the suffering of millions. The disloyalty of a few Mir Jafar's causing shame and humiliation on the people of South Asia.

There is now a new East India Company at India's gate, already well established in Afghanistan with 160,000 Western troops backed by 200,000 mercenaries projected for the near future. They are not there to fight 10,000 ak-47 armed Taliban, but to attack and occupy Pakistan.........Baluchistan first, and then parts of the NWFP, aided by 400,000 Afghans and the 1,100,000 Pakistani security forces................this sounds amazing doesn't it?.........but this what is happening now slowly.

If Iraq and Afghanistan are good indication, the occupation of Pakistan will not be a very happy one producing millions of refugees into India presumably, millions more dead and poor corrupt governance by the occupying powers as with Afghanistan and Iraq now.............according to Transparency International amongst the two worst managed states.

Clearly without being ideological, common sense stares at us and tells us NO GOOD outcomes result from Pakistan's co-operation with the USA. It is harming Pakistan at many levels. Further to reinforce this fact:

(1) The stark examples of Iraq and Afghanistan exist, if we require further evidence and reinforcement to quench our doubt. The glitter, allure, dollar and yes military strength of the USA can "confuse" and "deceive" sometimes the best of us in not seeing the clear truth.

(2) And we can look at Pakistan/American relations since 1965 in further clearing our doubts. The destabilization of the Ayub Khan regime whilst pretending to be his ally by the USA; The arms embargo against Pakistan in 1965 by the USA; The posturing and pretense of seeming to protect Pakistan militarily with REAL arms aid in the 1971 civil war, AND by implication backed by American military might, but in reality when it came to the crunch green lighting India's invasion of East Pakistan as stated by official records; Single highhandedly launching a crusade against Pakistan's nuclear program........by toppling democratically elected governments in 1977, and then killing senior military officers later; the renewed embargo of 1990; The advice by them to create the "al-Qaeda" myth, and the Taliban in the 1990's......and then pulling the rug under Pakistan unceremoniously in 2001 in relation to these two entities; the repeated insistence to do more and more against fighting terrorism....beyond the limited means of the Pakistan military 2002---2010; the toppling of Busharaf by the USA.....and finally the vilification of Pakistan as terrorism hub number one by the USA; so called terrorist organizations within Pakistan which in large part the USA actively, physically, participated jointly with Pakistan in creating in the first place from 1979 through to 2010.....with extensive Saudi and Israeli assistance.

But now they make open threats against Pakistan, the main victim of American mischief......over 45 years and more.

The rich irony comes full circle now.

The USA toppled and killed ZA Bhutto. The USA mistakenly thought he was the main personality behind Pakistan's nuclear bomb program.....in reality, it was the Pakistan military. By toppling and killing him they thought they would end the program.........they didn't succeed.

Mossad Busharaf like all American puppets became an irritant to the USA for whatever whimsical reason........and they decided to get rid of him from 2007. Perhaps they calculated that a civilian government led by wholly corrupt Zardari would be more amenable to their hostile occupational strategy in Pakistan eventually.

Benazir Bhutto became the weapon which was used to topple Musharaf. Benazir Bhutto was not liked by powerful Pakistani elements, and against her better judgment was advised mischievously by the Americans to go to Pakistan, despite repeated warnings from Musharaf not to come..........she was a polarizing figure from the Zamindari colonial era class of Pakistan educated at Oxford, a total failure as PM in two terms of office and hated with a vengeance by right-wing elements who didn't like her because she was a woman, advertising herself as a sellout puppet of Washington being parachuted into the country at a critical time. Benazir indicated in her private correspondence that certain military and ex-military figures had threatened her, and that in all probability it is this group which killed her, working with the ISI.

Now the UN report into the Benazir Bhutto assassination damns possibly the entire Pakistani elite for the misdeeds of a few men in security, ultimately encouraged in a calculated way by the USA from the background.

The Bhutto Report: The 40 years ongoing de-legitimation of Pakistan by the USA.

The drone attacks in the tribal areas have picked up since the Faisal Shahzad episode, as has the rhetoric from the United States. Attorney General Holder found a Pakistani Taliban link and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton talked of severe consequences had the attack materialised.

(The staged event in 9/11 Noo Yawk very recently was very timely against Pakistan, and as previously suggested in this article is most likely the work of Israel.......and the wider historical explanation is provided why Israel did it. Israel's goal has been to get at Pakistan's nuke bombs since the 1970's, and this effort has manifested itself variously through the USA, through India from the 1980's through to 26/11 more recently which was ultimately meant to get India to militarily attack Pakistan, and directly with Pakistan by building intimate sexual relations with the ISI. (Musharaf may have been recruited early in the 1980's as a Mossad agent)

In that sense the Americans are bit fronts/players in an Israeli game which through this latest incident in Jew Noo Yawk is intended to put pressure on the Pakistani military to EXPEND/EXHAUST the Pakistani military's resources and manpower fighting her own citizens in an endless Sisyphean task, so that when America does finally attack Pakistan conventionally..........lets say in pursuit of the Taliban Afghan Shura in Quetta, the Pakistani military will not be in a position to put up any meaningful resistance in that eventuality.........Ullooo Bacha Chaudis)

These statements were tempered by the US military that, playing the good cop, praised Pakistan for its vital role in the Afghan conflict. Ambassador Holbrooke also tried to fudge the issue by suggesting that Clinton’s statement had been misinterpreted.

(No misinterpretation by crypto-Jewess Clinton, she indeed spoke the truth, intended to signal to Israel what America would for that country {The Israelis like a little spoiled insecure girl do prefer a lot of verbal public affirmations from her allies "aren't you pretty" "Israel's war is our war" "Israel is our dearest ally"etc}.....and the top American military brass perhaps ashamed by the duplicity towards an ally which is already foolishly aiding and abetting in the killing of her own citizens in Pakistan, attempted to ameliorate the verbal threat...."Oh don't worry, nothin to fuss about..only a lone nut".......undercut by the arrest of many others in the USA and in Pakistan as suspects. American military commanders must also be aware that this latest incident could not have been a Pakistani operation, working allegedly with the American run TTP which was birthed initially using the numerous Afghan ex-Guantanamo inmates who had been turned after 2005)

Whatever the real nature of the signals emanating from the US, one thing is clear. The botched Times Square bombing have reinforced negative perceptions in the West about Pakistan. Coming on the heels of the media hype in India after Ajmal Kasab’s conviction, it puts not just a few criminals but the entire country in the dock.

(Threats like that should not be taken lightly, by such a person. Just imagine America talking like that to North Korea, or Iran or Russia. Crypto-Jewess Clinton meant what she said and carry's more weight than what Holbrooke/Patreaus later tried to explain away.........she has strong links to American intelligence and the neo-liberal wing of the American cryto-Jewish fraternity of the Rockefeller's/Soros and the all the rest. What she says matters not just because she is the Secretary of State. If however President Barry Soetoro had intervened immediately and clarified matters than that would have been different.

Casting malicious aspersion's on an adversary is not historically a new phenomenon. However the individual or the collective who is the victim of such false malicious aspersions have the free will to deny such things to his potential adversary........vigorously through actions, deeds, verbal communication, behaviour and ASSOCIATIONS, at an individual and collective level.

Since the 1970's and especially after 1979, the Pakistani military with American blessing and funding began arming training recruiting Islamic fundamentalists of the more fervent kind, additionally backed by Saudi Gulf money and active Israeli participation in Pakistan.........against the Godless Soviet menace, primarily. The Pakistani military overjoyed with the apparent success of such a scheme also created internal proxy groups of a similar kind to reinforce the writ of the Pakistani military within Pakistan, and also as a tool against India in Kashmir from 1989, once the Soviets were defeated in Afghanistan.

There are 200 countries in the world, and most countries "securities" operate off the books paramilitary groups for various purposes.....in South America, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australasia. Pakistan in that sense is not doing anything different. However the sheer volume of such groups, the subsequent media attention which is directed and finally the association of the Pakistani military with Israel and the USA makes the Pakistani situation far more dangerous, and publicity prone.

The Pakistani military since 1965 have had ample WARNINGS of what it means to be an Israeli/American ally and a Muslim country. The Americans have made repeated threats AGAINST Pakistan from the 1970's; In the latter part of the 1980's; in the 1990's when the new Clinton administration called Ms Lodhi the Pakistan ambassador to the USA and told her that Pakistan would be henceforth designated a terrorist state from 1993, UNLESS Pakistan cooperated with America {Create the Taliban 1994} which Benazir Bhutto did with the backing of the Pakistani military.

With such a rich experience of repeated threats from the USA over 45 years shouldn't the Pakistani military, the most powerful group in Pakistan today have taken proper safety measures and precautions against the Americans in the timely eventuality of the USA doing the dirty against Pakistan yet again.

Safety measures????? Simple things:

(1) Reduce your reliance on the USA. Stop listening to and cooperating with yet more dangerous security schemes emanating from the USA. Let the Pakistani parliament and general Pakistani people have greater scrutiny of the Pakistani military's off the books security agreements with the USA........take them into confidence. STAND WITH THE PAKISTAN PEOPLE, united.

(2) Conversely increase your cooperation with India, beyond nice chats and gesture politics, both within the framework of SAARC and bilaterally.

(3) Accept the LoC as an International boundary, negotiate for permanent peace.

(4) Disband the internal jihadi groups seriously, and arrest their leaders.

(5) Tell the Taliban Shura in Quetta to leave Pakistan.

It is no irony or coincidence that the fireworks non-bomber in Joo Noo Yawk, is the son of a senior Pakistani military officer who retired, and sent his sons to live and work in North America. Faisal Shahzad seems the perfect patsy....someone the intelligence agencies befriend and then betray. In that allegorical sense the Pakistani military have been for the better part of 40 years REPEAT Patsy's who never learn.

Those in Pakistan always looking for a conspiracy are having a field day. Their prognosis is that ground is being prepared for an invasion. These dire predictions have been reinforced by veiled suggestions from the US that American ground forces may indeed penetrate into this country.

While this seems unlikely, the propaganda unleashed against Pakistan is a cause for alarm. Recent history of Western (USA lead)incursions into Afghanistan and Iraq indicates that negative reports about these countries were used as a basis to seek UN Security Council resolutions to justify an invasion.

(As with Mullah Iran......and so with Pakistan. Bush did say to Blair in their January 2003 meeting that Iran and Pakistan would be invaded eventually, after Iraq.

This did not materialize because of the stiffness of the Iraqi resistance mainly which has accounted for the lives of 70,000 American servicemen unofficially, and which further forced the Americans to bribe certain Sunni Iraqis.......but one assumes the plans to invade Pakistan eventually still exists. Iran is proving difficult because it has allies such as Syria and to an extent Russia and Turkey...............but Pakistan......who is Pakistan's friendly protector........Israel and the USA????)

In this day and age, international approval for an invasion by a super power is necessary (Ha! earth calling Safqat Mahmood where have we been in the last couple years? Definitely not in Iraq's case....where a mishmash of Israeli created false conjecture was fed to the American public and media as a justification for invasion). This is facilitated if there is enough negative material to paint the target country black. Or, even better, if there is a report by a recognised international body that has prima facie authenticity.

It is in this context that the report by the UN Commission on Benazir Bhutto’s murder becomes relevant to Pakistan’s current predicament. It accuses Pakistani state organs, or elements within, of having links with the Taliban and Al Qaeda. It suggests they were used by the Pakistani “Establishment” for assisting insurgency in Indian-held Kashmir. And it alleges a connection between organisations involved in cross border terrorism and Pakistani intelligence.

(Yes and its mainly true.........but the UN report also fails to mention the critical American driving role in all this mess since God knows...where does one start 1951??? 1958??? 1965???? 1977????.

Pakistani military elements are linked to "al-Qaeda" in the sense that since OBL came to Pakistan/Afghanistan in 1996, the Pakistani state has protected him, at the request of the Americans for whom he was their agent, named Tim Osman unto his death in December 2001, and the Pakistani military's total silence as to this critical fact when the Israeli/Americans since 2003 produced fake videos of OBL......the Pakistani military have played a critical role for America in creating the 'al-Qaeda' hologram, and have for some strange reason remained faithful to this dangerous hologram. Even to the point of stating that many "al-Qaeda" members are in Pakistan, whom Pakistan will faithfully pursue..........the Ullooo Bacha Chudis think the Israelis/Americans will be grateful and give Pakistan 1 or 2 more fourth generation F-16 fighters at $180 million each.......and other such worthless reciprocity.

As to the linkages of the Afghan Taliban with the Pakistan military everybody knows about it. Pakistan military personnel fought side by side with the Afghan Taliban, provided them with logistics, training and leadership in some cases..............at the insistence of the Americans and Sandy Berger from 1994. Those linkages still exist though not to the level of enthusiasm and extent of the 1990's. ......so, whats the problem? The Taliban didn't kill Bhutto.

Again open knowledge that after 1989, Pakistan diverted some of the Afghan Jihadi Mujaheddin into Kashmir against India.........which almost led to war in 1990. I do not say this is right and acceptable, but is the UN conducting a real investigation as to who actually murdered Benazir Bhutto, or a GENERAL VILIFICATION of Pakistan as a legitimate Third World state which faces many "challenges" just like many other Developing countries?

If the later for the USA/Israel, then they should have given me the money instead and responsibility since I am quite a qualified person with a fair knowledge of the country, and fully independent, with a measure of concern and compassion for Third World issues and security matters along with International Human Rights issues. I would have written the report in a week, and it would have gone something like this:

"Pakistan failed state created by the departing UK, to reduce India's potential strength, ...who then in 1948 created the ISI, which then quickly went into work to take over Pakistan......has along this agenda attacked India 4 times, with 2 near wars. Since the 1950's the USA became prominent in Pakistani politics with disasterous consequences.........Pakistan has 180 million people, and the future looks bleak."

Though the Commission’s terms of reference were narrowly defined–to determine facts and circumstances of the assassination–it chose to go far beyond that. In a style reminiscent of investigative journalism, it went into Pakistan’s history, its political culture, the role of the establishment, and drew conclusions without substantiating anything. It did not indicate who was interviewed, what method of inquiry it had devised for itself and why it came to certain determinations.

(Similar pattern to the UN investigation into the Rafic Hariri assassination by Israel, which eventually forced Syria to withdraw troops from Lebanon, or face an attack from Israel and the USA.......extremely instructive in Pakistan's case in terms of the MO used by Israel with America in that episode in 2005)

These were serious lapses, as pointed out by leading lawyer Ahmer Bilal Sufi in a TV interview with Talat Hussain. The Commission was akin to a court of inquiry and its conclusions amounted to a judgement. Anything that it said had to be substantiated and backed by testimony. It did not have the luxury of vague hypothesis or veiled allusions.

(The UN is headquartered in Noo Yawk; America created it, pays the bills and sustains it..............deafly silent on USA War crimes in Iraq, and Afghanistan...what did you expect?)

It is important to remember that it is one thing for charges to fly to and fro in Pakistan about the establishment. Ever since the military became involved in politics, this has become an essential part of the Pakistani political lexicon.

(For good reason-------the Pakistani military is a disaster for Pakistan, but so long as there is Democracy in Pakistan the Americans will have to creep into the country to invade and occupy it....with a dictatorship the old legitimacy issue comes to the fore, and the Americans can then attack the country more directly.)

But this report of the UN Commission is not for the Pakistani government or a part of the Pakistani political give-and-take. It has been submitted to the UN secretary general and is part of the Security Council archives. Any determinations that it has made can and will be used against Pakistan if and when the time is ripe. It may not be now, because the US needs Pakistan. But this could change.

(Does the USA need Pakistan? I don't think so, for what? However this "need" excuse and dependency of Pakistan to the USA can be/is used by the USA to guide Pakistan into the wrong path and eventual dissolution.........getting the Pakistan military to fight and kill her own citizens, now that's a quite a neat trick, which additionally exhausts the fighting ability of the Pakistan military)

It would also be important to remember that before the US invasion of Iraq a team of UN inspectors had been sent in to find out whether the country had an active nuclear programme. Their report was to be used for a Security Council resolution that would authorise an invasion. In the end, it did not come to that because the Inspectors were expelled by Iraq. But this in itself became a pretext.

Thus, UN reports are not some run-of-the mill documents. They are like a ticking bomb that can explode when the time is ripe. It is for this reason that the conclusions drawn by the Commission are so potentially damaging for Pakistan.

It first defines the establishment as the military high command and the intelligence agencies, plus leaders of some political parties, top bureaucrats and business people. In other words, the entire slice of the Pakistani ruling elite. It then accuses it of a variety of crimes.

The Pakistani military is one of the worst militaries on earth which has a history of waging vicious nasty wars against its own people in East Pakistan 1971, Baluchistan 1973-1978 and now NWFP 2003--2010, or are you going to tell me that such events are none- existent?

HOWEVER IN MITIGATION One could argue that witless children of weak mind and character have a tendency to go astray and do things they ought not do, but for the mischevious guidance and direction of government officers from the USA and UK............then on this basis only maybe we should not blame the Pakistani elite.....but then again aren't we responsible for our actions as adults, even as Third World banana Republic adults?)

In the case of Benazir Bhutto murder, it says: “Many sources interviewed by the Commission believe that the Establishment was threatened by the possibility of Ms Bhutto’s return to high public office and that it was involved in or bears some responsibility for her assassination.”

(Some elements of the Pakistan military bears direct responsibility for that high crime...........the extremist Jihadi elements such as Hamid Gul et al which she intimated in letters to her close friends; its tough being a women politician in Pakistan)

Talking about the Taliban connection, it says that “these elements (within the military) included, in particular, those who retain links with radical Islamists, especially the militant jihadi and Taliban groups and are sympathetic to their cause, or view them as strategic assets for asserting Pakistan’s role in the region.”

And on cross-border terrorist organisations: “The Pakistani military and ISI also used and supported some of these groups (Punjab-based jihadi organisations) in the Kashmir insurgency after 1989. The bulk of the anti-Indian activity was and still remains the work of groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, which has close ties with the ISI.” This last assertion is damning in the context of the Mumbai massacre.

No concrete evidence has, of course, been adduced to support these conclusions. These assertions are the normal stuff of hearsay that is prevalent in the media. but not enough for a UN commission report. As A G Noorani has observed in his article for the Frontline magazine in India, “the issue is not whether the assessments, the conjectures, ‘the hypotheses,’ and the homilies are sound or not. The issue is starkly simple. Such passages do not belong to the report of a UN inquiry, let alone one on a murder.”

(I think the overt actions of the Pakistan military over the last 30 years at least make it easy for the UN investigators to make such assertions ..........technically the report may be at fault, for how do really get into the Byzantine world of Pakistan covert actions and ties between the shadowy slippery all pervasive military in Pakistan society and their linkages with Jihadis........difficult unless you have a professional Pakistani reporter willing to risk their career for one UN report and so that they could do an extensive investigation ....NOT.........Benazir herself left enough clues as to her actual assailants)

I will not go into the reasons why Mr Zardari was insistent on a UN Commission to investigate the assassination. Whether this was done deliberately to malign the military or not is a topic for another discussion. What concerns me is the time bomb ticking in UN Security Council archives. Are we going to let it remain there without a challenge?

There is only one answer. We cannot. The government has to write a strongly worded rejoinder to the conclusions drawn by the Commission regarding Pakistani state institutions. Whether any reply is received or not, whether the report is amended or not, we must place on record our objections. This is the only way to protect Pakistan’s national interest.

If this is not done, the government will be complicit in jeopardising Pakistan’s future.

Elena Kagan and the Supreme Court: A Barnyard Smell in Chicago, Harvard and Washington

"President Obama has nominated Elena Kagan for Justice of the United States Supreme Court on the basis of an academic publication record, which might give her a fighting chance for tenure at a first rate correspondence law school in the Texas Panhandle." By Professor James Petras.

A review of her published scholarship after almost two decades in and out of academia turns up four law review articles, two brief pieces and several book reviews and in memoriam. There is nothing even remotely resembling a major legal text or research publication.

Her lack-luster academic publication record is only surpassed by her total lack of any practical experience as a judge: zero years in adjudication, unless one accepts the line of her exuberant advocates, who point to Kagan’s superb ability in adjudicating among the squabbling faculty at Harvard Law School when she served as Dean. No doubt Kagan had been very busy as the greatest fundraising Law School Dean in Harvard’s history ($400 million), which may account for the fact that she never found time to write a single academic article during her nine year tenure (2001-2009).

The criteria for her appointment to the Supreme Court have little to do with academic performance as it is understood today in all major universities. Nor does her total inexperience as a judicial advocate compensate for academic mediocrity.

The evidence points to a purely political appointment based, in part, on social networks and certainly not on her lack of affinity for the agenda of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. Kagan’s approval of indefinite detention of suspects squares with the extremist restrictions on constitutional freedoms first articulated during the Bush Administration and subsequently upheld by President Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder. It is no coincidence that Kagan appointed a notorious Bush torture advocate, the genial Jack Goldsmith, to the Harvard Law faculty.

Elena Kagan’s appointment certainly was not based on “diversity”. She will be the third Jew on the Supreme Court and, together with the six Roman Catholics, will decide the most critical cases with far-reaching and profound impact on citizens’ rights and protections. For the first time in US history the nation’s largest demographic group, the Protestants (of any hue or gender), will have no representative on the Court, thereby excluding the descendents, like retiring Justice Stevens, of the brilliant, strongly secular judicial heritage that formulated the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and its amendments.

Kagan’s nomination to the US Supreme Court is not exceptional if we consider many of Bush and now Obama’s choices of advisers and officials in top policymaking posts. Many of these officials combined their diplomas from Ivy League universities with their absolutely disastrous performances in public office, which no amount of mass media puff pieces could obscure.

These Ivy League mediocrities include the foreign policy advocates for the destructive and unending wars in the Middle East and Afghanistan and the leading economic advisers and officials responsible for the current financial debacles. What is the basis of their rise? What explains their ascent to the most influential positions in the US power structure?

Elena Kagan got tenure at the august halls of the University of Chicago in 1995 on the basis of one substantive article and one brief piece, neither outstanding. With this underwhelming record of legal scholarship, she became visiting professorship at the Harvard Law School, published only two more articles (one in Harvard Law Review) and received tenure. Prima facie evidence strongly suggests that Kagan’s ties to the staunchly Zionist faculty at both Chicago and Harvard Law Schools (and not her intellectual prowess) account for her meteoric promotions to tenure, deanship and now the US Supreme Court, over the heads of hundreds of other highly qualified candidates with far superior academic publication records and broader practical judicial experience.

The public utterances and political writings of innumerable Harvard, Princeton, Chicago, Yale, John Hopkins professors, whether it be on the speculative economy, Israel’s Middle East wars, preventative detention, broad presidential powers and constitutional freedoms are marked by a singular mediocrity, mendacity and an excess of hot air reeking of the barnyard.

In the eve of defeat of the Pakistani army in East Pakistan, General Niazi stated that the Pakistani forces would defeat the Indians and would never surrender.......they did only after a few days of that famous statement being made.

(The Vietnam war cost officially 58,000 dead American soldiers and 4 million Vietnamese, unofficially most certainly far more for the Americans.....perhaps 130,000, 10 years of war......and saw the American military literally running from the battle scene at the end.......major polarization of society, the massive narcotization of USA society for the first time by the 2.8 million returning soldiers and by the appropriation of this "business" by the USA military seriously for the first time into the USA.........USA military C-130's don't have to clear customs and nor do the USA intelligence fraternity with their little private airlines and many private airfields in the USA and around the world......The American war on drugs is declared after the Vietnam war...........General Westmorelands trite comment, after the war does not ADMIT THESE SUPREME TRUTHS, but in understanding and accepting these facts we can begin to grasp American motivations and subsequent actions in present day Afghanistan)

America is bankrupt, sustained by China and Japan, and their good grace.

There are many problems within the USA, which require urgent attention.

The USA has been at war for nearly 9 years in Afghanistan...the longest in USA history.

What is incredible about the statement of the general is that:

(1) After fighting the Taliban for 9 years the USA has still not defeated them, which must say to us that there is a fundamental problem with USA strategy in the country.

(2) The USA asked Pakistan in 1994 directly to establish, arm, train, sustain, guide with Pakistani military personnel the Taliban. Which means the Taliban are de-facto proxies of Pakistan still existing on covert Pakistani largess and good will. The Taliban are 10,000 poorly trained militia force armed with little more than ak-47's. The Americans will soon have 100,000 American military personnel in the country; 180,000 civilian ex-military contractors; backed by 50,000 NATO forces and 400,000 Afghan forces.........if you still talk in terms of a "DRAW" with such forces at your disposal against such a proxy force of Pakistan then there is something seriously wrong with your general policies in that country.

(3) Attacking concentrations of civilian populations in Afghanistan with Tajik Afghan security forces in toe in Pashtun Marjah and Kandahar is not going to lead to constructive critical success for the USA in Afghanistan.

(4) The USA "won" in Afghanistan in 2001 against the Taliban and against the mythical none-existent "al-Qaeda", by driving them out of the country and installing a puppet USA backed government. What more does the USA want? That all Afghans adopt the American way, and like and agree with the hostile aggressive American occupation of their country 100%? That some Afghans would take up resistance is no surprise....we are not talking about post-war occupied Germany here where the Marshal Plan and effective civilian government was instituted under Conrad Adenauer, soon after wars end with the backdrop of Nazi Party officers still attacking Allied Occupation forces. By contrast the Afghans in ALL parts of Afghanistan but especially in the Pashtun belt are attacked by the Americans, and many civilians become casualties. The American effort in Afghanistan is fundamentally characterized as military, with very little effort at civilian reconstruction......the Americans rely on Afghan crooks to run the country.

(5) The USA's primary rational for staying in Afghanistan is the Afghan heroin (hence the irrational, perverse and incoherent statements of why the Americans are in Afghanistan......by the general, Hilary Clinton and all the rest of the kleptocracy crowd) The annual Afghan heroin harvest yields the higher end USA criminal fraternity between $50--$80 billion, which is subsequently laundered in WALL STREET. Wall Street with "The City" in London launder about $500---$1,000 billion worth of narcotics annually thus narcotics is a major source of sustaining the defaulting, bankrupt, debtor banks. There is also the added fun of flooding heroin into other countries such as Iran with 3 million addicts; Pakistan with 2.5 million addicts; Central Asia...no data, and finally Russia/Ukraine with well over 1.2 million addicts.......the slow destruction of whole societies without initiating any wars.

McChrystal Terms Afghan War ‘A Draw’

Growing Doubts Over Kandahar Offensive

Some six months into the “McChrystal Plan” the US had dramatically increased its military presence in Afghanistan and President Obama has claimed they are making “undeniable” progress. To Gen. McChrystal though, the war is still “a draw.”

And even McChrystal’s claims of a draw are questionable, based on his insistence that the Taliban’s momentum has been stopped. This is not well supported by recent data, however, which has shown a rising death toll, rising numbers of Taliban IED attacks, and ever increasing numbers of civilian killings.

And the June invasion of Kandahar, supposedly the primary military goal for 2010, is the subject of growing doubts among US military commanders, failed efforts to “rebrand” the effort with the hokey title the “Cooperation for Kandahar,” and increased concerns about the readiness for the Karzai government to assert itself in the city.

US strategies in Afghanistan have had a history of falling apart a few short months after being sold to the American public as a cure-all, and perhaps predictably the McChrystal Plan too is starting to go off the rails, a victim of its own unrealistic promises to turn around the war in short order.

No majority means greater Democracy.

So nobody won a clear majority...................GREAT!!!!! Horray HENRY for the people of the UK.

There were the usual sleazy scams; polling stations closed early in marginals, and the ever fraudulent postal vote. But at the end of the day Brian, nobody won a majority.

The Lib-Dems were probably denied about 15--20 seats which might have swung to them from the Labour Party, or perhaps more, but for the dirty tricks on election day.

Also the Murdoch papers Times timely article by the Rothschild banking elites basically clobbered the Lib-Dems, and stated quite obviously and in a partisan way who they didn't want elected. Under Nick Clegg the Lib-Dems could have conceivably won as much as 85--90 seats possibly with 26 % of the votes cast, but for the actions of the last few days and the actual events on election day.

Never mind take it on the chin........the Lib-Dems still hold the cards. They should give nothing away, and say nothing. This has power.

The sleaze brigade would have to engineer 20 bi-election over the next 5 years to possibly get the Tories a majority, but that's not going to happen.

Some say the UK often runs like North Korea, with the premier making the decisions, and parliament rubber stamping them without much reflection, doubt or reform. Tony Blair and his 10 year dictatorship of war crimes, genocide and much much more comes to mind. In the UK the executive is very strong and parliament ineffective, especially in the key area of scrutinizing the executive. The judiciary don't get involved in the "Separation, and checking of powers business." .....not that often anyway.

In the new situation that's obviously not going to happen. The Ulster Unionists will possibly side with the Tories but the Tories will still need the help of the Liberal Democracts to pass most of their legislation.

That means the Liberal Democracts can have a great influence on Tory legislation.

That means the Tories will be listening to what the Lib-Dems say for the first time, where Labour previously never did.

That means "Democracy' in the broadest sense wins.

So the Lib -Dems sit back and wait.

PR is a great idea, and I think the UK is a sophisticated enough country like Germany which can handle such a system effectively without having one government per annum. Whether the Establishment Jew Banker Parties accept it as a condition of a broad Coalition with the Lib-Dems is another matter.

Since the Lib-dems are the main victims the Party should also become experts on sleazy election day dirty tricks without sounding conspiratorial, prattling on about it throughout the whole year. Also the Lib-Dens should look into why an alleged 10% of the population aren't registered who could be eligible for voting, and finally the whole system of postal voting, and how to make that more effective and accountable.

The simplest voting system for Democracy is open polling stations without any enclosures, transparent plastic ballot boxes; the voter indicating who they have voted for to all the main party representatives actually present in the polling stations in groups, or not.....their choice, informally and quickly if they want to (so that a rough pre-count of ballots can be done before)........Finally the ballots actually counted at the polling stations and not transported to any third destination...............very little room for cheating here). No use of machines certainly, as in the "Great Beacon of Hope & Democracy"....the USA, where only 39% of the actual total potential adult voters bother to turn up and vote.

(as would be defined by the UK and most advanced democracies.....22% unregistered; 2-3% discounted from electoral roll for frivolous reasons; 52% of the remaining 76% actually voting= 39%; then you have nasty racist allegations that the Diebold machines are Israeli programmed and run. I cannot and will not believe this last bit of slur)

There are good reasons why the Lib-Dems should not go in with Labour:

(1) Labour must not be allowed to form yet another government, even within a coalition, where they will quite obviously be the dominant player. An unprecedented fourth term, after such a disastrous unpopular record.

(2) Labor rarely took the lib-Dems into confidence in the last 13 years of unprecedented Labour power.

(3) The Lib-Dems should not taint themselves with such a corrupt War-Criminal Party which mass genocides innocent Third World people because the Americans required a coalition of the willing and company. Based on PRINIPLE, the Lib-Dems must not should not align themselves with Labour. Yes politics is politics, but there should be certain limits.

(4) The Lib-Dems can now fundamentally raise their profile in UK politics and especially with the populace simply by not playing ball with the Banker status quo parties.....since they hold the balance of power more people will pay attention to what the Lib-Dems say and what they do.........VERY IMPORTANT. However there is a fine line between offering constructive alternative policies which are sound and good for the UK in the long term, and seeming to be obstructive towards government legislation purely for the sake of it. A fine balancing act.

(5) The Jew Banker status quo powers will not accept a PR system, which makes parliament some what more representative of the will of the people.
