 There are millions of articles by various Western and other writers and analysts who say that Iran is not building a nuclear bomb, and nor does it have the intention.

The fundamental problem is that those that accuse and point the finger, don't want to compromise or accept plain facts.

These accusers have other intentions, of creating Eretz Israel or Greater Israel, which means the sacrifice and destabilization of moderate, stable Middle East regimes.

Iran over 9 years has opened its gates to some of the most extensive inspections of its sensitive security sites by IAEA inspectors, some of whom work for Western and Israeli Intelligence.

The mullahs were brought into power in 1979 by the USA/UK, precisely for the purpose of de-legitimating Iran. The Mullahs have also done a full job of de-legitimating Iran themselves.

Given this background the USA is not now going to undermine its long term policy and finally accommodate the mullahs......the warlike nature of the Obama regime does not suggest this.

The very strict sanctions against Iran, based on fear and a lie....and that maybe Iran might go nuclear is another indication of this hostile intent against Iran.

Iran should eject the IAEA, and prepare for full scale war without actually initiating it.

Iran should NOT provide further concessions to the Americans over the question of civilian nuclear energy.

Ten Reasons Iran Doesn't Want the Bomb

Since the beginning of Iran’s nuclear crisis, the West has been convinced that one approach offers the best hope of altering Tehran’s nuclear policy and halting its enrichment activities: comprehensive international sanctions and a credible threat of military strike. 

During the same period, I have repeatedly warned my friends in the West that such punitive pressures, no matter how severe, will not change the Iranian leadership’s mindset, and that a military option would be catastrophic for Iran, the region and beyond.

Almost a decade has passed and the unrelenting Western pressures applied on Iran have not achieved the objectives they set. Instead, they have resulted in Iran having an expanded and more sophisticated nuclear program. It is time for the West to acknowledge these realities.

The question that remains is whether Iran ultimately aims to get a nuclear weapon. If Iran isn’t after the bomb, then the Western accusations and concerns would be reduced enough to allow a diplomatic solution.

The following reasons aim to strengthen the case for why Iran is not after a nuclear bomb:

1. Religious Obligations: Besides an international commitment to Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), Iran has religious obligations against nuclear weapons. Based on the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei’s religious edict or fatwa, the use of nuclear weapons and all other types of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) is forbidden or haram—constituting a sin, while being useless, costly, harmful and a serious threat to humanity. Iran’s authorities were informed about this religious view in 1995, eight years prior to Iran’s enrichment program became known to the West. Leaving no room for discrepancy, all Muslim Shia grand ayatollahs have issued the same religious fatwa.

Iran’s stance against weapons of mass destruction, which is far from new, has been put to the test. During the Iran-Iraq war, Saddam Hussein ordered chemical weapons to be used against Iran in the 1980s, resulting in 100,000 Iranian soldiers and civilians being killed or injured (By Iraqi Chemical weapons supplied by USA TO CIA Saddam). Iran did not retaliate in kind primarily because Imam Ruhollah Khomeini was against the use of weapons of mass destruction based on religious beliefs.

2. No Long-Term Advantage: Based on Iranian assessments, the possession of nuclear weapons would provide only a short-term regional advantage that would turn into a longer-term vulnerability. It would trigger a regional nuclear arms race, bringing Egypt, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia into the fold sooner or later.

3. Technology Choices: The technical configurations Iran has chosen for its nuclear program demonstrate a preference for a robust enrichment capability rather than for a rapid nuclear weapons breakout capability. Iran’s development program is focused on next-generation nuclear technologies, rather than mass production or maximum installation of centrifuges. There are more advantageous configurations Iran could implement if it was determined to acquire weapons in the near term.

Iran has shown no urgency to advance its nuclear dual-use efforts. Even the activities detailed in the November 2011 International Atomic Energy Agency report are not directed at any specific nuclear weaponization. According to Robert Kelly, an American top nuclear expert and the former International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspector, the report was misleading and aimed to bolster hardliners “by taking information and feeding it as raw meat to people who want to move forward with war.”

4. Isolation: Iran recognizes that by becoming a nuclear weapons state, it will compel Russia and China to join the United States and implement devastating sanctions that would paralyze the Iranian economy.

Iran recognizes that becoming a nuclear weapons state would give the Israelis ample ammunition to rally the United States and the international community on a perceived existential threat to its existence for creating another war in the Middle East.

5. Aspirations: Iran’s ultimate strategy is to be a modern nation, fully capable of competing with the West in terms of advanced technologies. The majority of Iran’s prominent politicians believe that possessing nuclear weapons would be an obstacle in the long-term for Iran’s access to vast technological cooperation with developed countries. They do not want to see Iran come under the kind of extreme international isolation levied against North Korea.

6. Goodwill: During negotiations from 2003 to 2005, with Iran and France, Germany, and the UK (the EU-3), Iran submitted proposals which included a declaration to cap enrichment at 5 percent; to export all low-enriched uranium or fabricate it into fuel rods; to commit to an additional protocol to its IAEA safeguards agreement and subsidiary arrangements to the agreement, which would provide maximum transparency; to allow the IAEA to make snap inspections of undeclared facilities; and to ship its enriched uranium to another country for fabrication into fuel rods for Tehran Research Reactor. Similarly, Iran welcomed the Russian step-by-step proposal in the summer of 2011, which addressed all the West’s concerns about Iran’s nuclear activities.

These offers were intended to ensure that no enriched uranium would be diverted to a nuclear weapons program in the future. That’s why the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman recently said: “Iran, in order to prove its goodwill, has even gone beyond the commitments enumerated in the agency’s regulations.” But the United States and EU still rejected the offer.

7. No Stockpile: Accusations levied against Iran for stockpiling enriched uranium to build nuclear weapon are misleading, since Iran requires 27 tons of uranium enriched at 3.5 percent level annually to provide fuel for its only nuclear power plant in Bushehr. Up to now, Iran has produced about 7 tons and needs an additional 20 tons.

8. Enrichment Offers: The West’s biggest concern and therefore highest priority in nuclear talks have centered on Iran’s 20 percent enriched uranium. First in February 2010 and for the second time in September 2011, Iran proposed to stop its 20 percent enrichment in return for fuel rods—and once again the West declined. At a meeting between EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton and Iran’s leading nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili on September 19, Iran once again offered to suspend its enrichment of uranium to 20 percent, provided proportionate reciprocation would be taken by P5+1. "If they give us the 20 percent [enriched] fuel, we will immediately halt 20 percent [enrichment]," Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Iranian state-run television. But Europe responded to his goodwill by placing more sanctions.

9. Deterrence: A major accusation levied against Iran is that once it acquires nuclear weapons, it will use it against the United States and Israel. This makes no rational sense, since any provocation by Iran against two states that possess thousands and hundreds of nuclear weapons respectively would result in Iran’s total annihilation. Iran has publically acknowledged this fact.

10. Forget Regime Change: The view of some U.S. politicians is that Iran’s motive for seeking nuclear weapons is nuclear deterrence—to ensure Washington would not attack it at will, instigate regime change or reach its objectives. If this concern is accurate, then Iran’s nuclear weapons could be used to prevent war—a positive outcome. But this concern relies on the wrong premise, as Iran has not aimed to acquire nuclear weapons in the face of a concerted effort by the United States and the West to engineer regime change in Tehran, including the use of war. During eight years of Iraqi aggression against Iran, the United States and the West did their utmost to support the aggressor and yet failed to bring defeat to Iran. Paradoxically for some, Iran without nuclear weapons has become more powerful year after year in the past 34 years, stymieing Western efforts to bring about the collapse of the regime. Meanwhile, the U.S. and Israeli positions in the region have declined despite the thousands of nuclear weapons between them.

 
The Deal

These are just a few reasons the West should enter into a genuine, face saving and realistic solution—rather than continuing to push aggressively and ineffectively against Iranian nuclear development.

Tehran would only accept a deal in which the P5+1 recognizes Iran’s legitimate rights of enrichment under the NPT and gradually lifts the sanctions. In return, to assuage Western worries, Iran would operationalize Ayatollah Khamenei’s fatwa banning nuclear arms, implement the Additional Protocol and the Subsidiary Arrangements (Code 3.1), and cooperate with the IAEA to resolve technical ambiguities and its worries about possible military dimensions. It would also export its enriched uranium stockpile beyond domestic consumption or convert it to fuel rods, cap enrichment at 5 percent, and establish a multilateral consortium for enrichment in Iran.

This package can guarantee Iran’s legitimate NPT rights of enrichment while ensuring that Iran will remain a non-nuclear-weapon state forever.

Condemnation for Korean Pop Star, But None for Pentagon’s Killing Machine

You can usually count on ill-informed and clueless Americans to defend the global elite as it thrashes about attacking small nations and engaging in economic warfare under the frayed banner of the United States.

The most recent example: outrage against Korean pop star PSY, real name Park Jae-sang.
The outrage arrives following news that PSY’s “Gangnam Style” has surpassed Justin Bieber’s “Baby” to become the most-watched YouTube video of all time. It hit more than 815 million views since it was uploaded to YouTube on July 15, according to Yahoo News.

It seems Mr. PSY made the mistake of criticizing U.S. foreign policy and the mindless consumers of pop entertainment in the United States have taken umbrage.

In response to the apparently endless stationing of troops in South Korea, PSY smashed a toy tank during a show back in 2002. According to Mediaite, the antic was performed following the death of two Korean school girls who were run over by an American tank in South Korea. After two U.S. soldiers were acquitted of any wrongdoing by a military court, protests erupted across the country.

In 2004, a Korean missionary was beheaded in Iraq by fanatical Sunni Islamists demanding South Korea not send troops to help the U.S. occupy the country. Protests erupted in South Korea blaming the U.S. military for indirectly causing the incident.
During a protest concert, PSY rapped the following:

Kill those f—— Yankees who have been torturing Iraqi captives
Kill those f—— Yankees who ordered them to torture
Kill their daughters, mothers, daughters-in-law and fathers
Kill them all slowly and painfully

Over the top? You bet. But then that’s how pop icons often get mileage. Is it any different from Lady Gaga’s blood and semen perfume stunt?

PSY is scheduled to appear at Obama’s “Christmas in Washington” event, but this may not happen if a petition making the rounds is successful.

“We request President Obama rescind his invitation to the Gangnam Style rapper PSY to perform for him at the Christmas in Washington celebration this month because of the rapper’s vicious anti-American song lyrics,” a petition on the White House website complains.

“As commander-in-chief, how can Pres. Obama honor someone who calls for killing our troops and their families?”

Of course, it hardly occurs to the petitioners that Obama’s (and gay pedo Bush's) foreign policy is largely responsible for killing thousands of troops in addition to countless innocent civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen. 

Recent U.S. foreign policy is responsible for slaughtering over a million in Iraq.

Maybe there should be a petition protesting that?

US forces rape women in northern Afghanistan village: Locals

The residents of a village in northern Afghanistan say American troopers raped several women during a nighttime raid in the rural community.

The locals said that the incident took place in a village in the Chahar Bolak district of Afghanistan’s Balkh Province where US special forces carried out house-to-house searches, Afghanistan Information Network reported on Sunday.

However, the name of the village was not disclosed as the villagers said they had been threatened by the commander of the US forces with “consequences” in case of complaining about the issue.

During the operation, the troopers separated the men and women of about 15 families and raped several women, the locals said.

Since the beginning of the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001, American troopers have on different occasions abused Afghans.

Last month, a US trooper involved in the mass killing of Afghan civilians in southern Afghanistan in March admitted to his crimes for the first time before a military court in the United States.

From July 1979, the "Bear Trap" was set in Afghanistan, using Islamic Fundamentalist in Afghanistan.

In 1981, Anwar Sadat was killed by Muslim Brotherhood members, with an attempt to take over power.

In 1982, the Muslim Brotherhood attempted to take over power in Syria, through a popular uprising, but were put down by the Syrian security forces, trained and supplied by Soviet Union.

Since that time Muslim Brotherhood members have attempted revolts in Algeria, Libya, Yemen, Somalia where they took over power for a while.

Then in 2011, again with the backing of the USA 'al-CIA-duh" toppled Gaddafi in Libya, Ben Ali in Tunisia, Mubarak in Egypt and as of now Syria.....on-going attempt.

The idea is to create weak, ineffective Islamist states which are de-legitimated, and under constant attack from the armed forces of NATO/USA/Israel.......which allows the creation of GREATER ISRAEL...ERETZ ISRAEL.

In this short summary, Morsi of the CIA and his Muslim Brotherhood should not run Egypt under any circumstances. Morsi who spent many years in the USA is a CIA agent, who will destroy Egypt. If Mubarak was a puppet of the USA, Morsi is far more so.......and a beard who will divide and destroy Egypt so that Eretz Israel can be created.

It is undersable that CIA Morsi wants absolute Paraoh powers, for thats precisely what the Iranian mullahs did with their so called "referendum" in 1979, to create a Shariah Islamic Emirate in Iran. Then the mullahs using the "legitimacy" of the "referendum" took over everything in government from the courts to the government ministeries and eventually the armed forces.

Morsi must be removed from power. The Muslim Brotherhood must be removed from power.

Egypt’s Morsi Flees as Protesters Storm Presidential Palace 

Demand Egypt Abandon New Draft Constitution

This Massive numbers of protesters, by some estimates 100,000 or more, marched on Egypt’s presidential palace in Cairo, storming the outer gates and entering the grounds of the compound, forcing President Mohamed Morsi to flee.

The protesters were both condemning Morsi’s edict granting himself unchecked power until a new constitution was in place and the referendum, scheduled for a week from Saturday, on a proposed new constitution.

Morsi’s edict has been hugely controversial and has sparked multiple protests, but he has defended it as temporary and designed to prevent an unfriendly court system from ousting the constitutional committee just days before the draft constitution had been finished.

With the vote looming, however, the protesters are now condemning the constitution for having been written by Morsi’s allies in the Muslim Brotherhood. Yet after last year’s parliamentary elections ended in an overwhelming victory for the Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), it is unsurprising that party got a solid major of the seats in the constitutional committee.

Specific complaints about the draft have been few, with most condemning it on the basis of its authors, and in the end it seems that the referendum will likely pass on the back of Islamist supporters, ending the most onerous of Morsi’s own power grab by finally giving him a constitutionally defined role.

British Troops Accused of Executing Four Afghan Teenagers

The Afghans were all young boys, civilians, drinking tea when British troops shot and killed them

Britain has launched an inquiry into claims that in October British forces in Afghanistan shot and killed a 12-year old boy and three young teenagers as they were drinking tea, all civilians, in an execution-style killing.

In a letter sent to Britain’s defense secretary Philip Hammond, lawyers acting for relatives of two of the four killed said, ”The four boys killed all appear to have been deliberately targeted at close range by British forces. All were killed in a residential area over which UK forces clearly had the requisite degree of control and authority.”


No investigation was ever launched into this incident. NATO spokesman Major Adam Wojack confirmed an operation occurred at the alleged time and place, but claimed the only result was the “killing of four Taliban enemies in action,” a claim that is rejected by relatives of the victims.


“The soldiers walked through the village calling at various houses asking to be told where the claimant’s brother Fazel Mohammed lived”, says lawyer’s statement. “It is alleged that the soldiers entered the house of a neighbour dragged him from his bed, hooded him and his son and beat them until under questioning they showed the soldiers the house of Fazel which was across the street.”


According to the letter sent to Hammond, the families and neighbors “reject outright any suggestion that any of the four teenagers killed were in any way connected to the insurgency. All four were innocent teenagers who posed no threat whatsoever to Afghan or British forces.”

US Senate calls for faster troop withdrawal from Afghanistan

The United States Senate has voted overwhelmingly in favor of an accelerated withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan after more than a decade of war.

On Friday, the Senate voted 62-33 for a quicker drawdown of the 66,000 US troops stationed in Afghanistan, the Associated Press reported.

Senator Jeff Merkley, chief sponsor of the accelerated withdrawal, said, “It is time to end this war, end the longest war in United States history.”

A day earlier, US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said Washington would need to keep its troops in Afghanistan even after the end of the combat mission in 2014 due to the growing presence of al-Qaeda in the country.

“The goal here is an enduring presence therefore that will direct itself toward three important missions. One is obviously counterterrorism to insure that we continue to go after whatever al-Qaeda targets remain in Afghanistan,” Panetta was quoted as saying.

The other two missions cited by the defense secretary are training security forces in Afghanistan and supporting the US military contingent stationed in the war-torn country.

But Merkley warned that al-Qaeda is stronger in other parts of the world than in Afghanistan.

US-led troops and Afghan forces are falling prey to Taliban attacks on an almost daily basis.

According to the website icasualties.org, over 380 foreign troops, mostly US personnel, have lost their lives in Afghanistan in 2012.

The United States and its allies entered the war in Afghanistan in 2001 as part of Washington’s so-called war on terror. The offensive removed the Taliban from power, but after 11 years, the foreign troops have still not been able to establish security in the country.

Iran's president promotes controversial confidant

Iran's president appointed his divisive confidant to a high-profile post Saturday in a move widely viewed as an attempt to boost the close aide's profile ahead of his expected candidacy in next year's presidential elections. 

(Elections are fixed by the mullahs, for better or for worse Mashaei won't win. We must not forget that Ahmedinejad himself was chosen by Ayatollah Khamenei with his son actively backing him in 2005, as a controllable puppet of the mullahs. After 7 years in power, Ahmedinejad has gained valuable experience, confidence, knowledge to see the UTTER STUPIDITY of the mullah rule, and his OBVIOUS frustration AS elected President, not being able to implement revolutionary reform that would make Iran more successful as a modern country. 

AHMEDINEJAD'S self-respect, perhaps even conscience impels him now in this twilight hour, at the end of his second term to symbolically once again challenge the ruling mullah clique. Though obviously given that the puppet mullahs installed by the UK/USA in 1979, are now highly unpopular....5 million educated Iranians have left the country, taking with them $1.5 trillion of assets.....the mullahs own candidate in the 2013 Presidential election will not be a beard/turban mullah........more likely it will be a technocrat with FAKE Ph.D's, with a beard and like Ahmedinejad in 2005, a hardline yes man of the mullahs.....from the Revolutionary Guard, the SS of the mullahs)

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad named Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei the head of the secretariat of the Non-Aligned Movement, the bloc of developing nations that Iran took over the leadership of this year. The post raises Mashaei's political clout and gives him much-needed international experience.

Ahmadinejad cannot run in Iran's presidential elections in June because of term limits, and he is widely believed to be grooming Mashaei, whose daughter is married to the president's son, as his successor when he steps down in 2013.

The decision to promote Mashaei is seen as a challenge to Iran's powerful hardliners, and is likely to inflame the simmering political dispute with presidential elections on the horizon. The hardliners denounce Mashaei as the head of a "deviant current" that they say is trying to undermine the country's ruling Islamic system and elevate the values of pre-Islamic Persia and promote nationalism at the expense of clerical rule.

(Promoting nationalism is good, as long as it is not rampant nationalism of the Nazi kind. To deny Persia's past is to deny the very existence of Iran-----"Land of the Aryans". Mashaei is believed to have been at the root of a bitter political battle between Ahmadinejad and Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, over the choice of intelligence chief in 2011. The president boycotted Cabinet meetings for 11 days — an unprecedented show of disrespect to Iran's leader, who hardliners believe is answerable only to God — but finally backed down.

The challenge prompted many of Ahmadinejad's erstwhile conservative supporters to switch sides and join his opponents, thus weakening the powerbase of hardliners that the president depended on to secure his disputed re-election in 2009.

Ahmadinejad has paid dearly for challenging the ruling system. Dozens of the president's aides have been arrested or driven into the political margins. Hardline media also began to smear Mashaei, the president's protege, with some critics even claiming that Mashaei conjured black magic spells to fog Ahmadinejad's mind.

In his unusually long decree Saturday announcing Mashaei's appointment, Ahmadinejad employed an unusually flattering prose to praise his aide, calling him a "pious, patient man with a pure heart and crystal thoughts."

"I consider your excellency a competent, wise, honest man," Ahmadinejad said in a statement posted on his office's website. "Knowing and working with you is a divine gift and a great honor for me."

In contrast, Ahmadinejad released a very short separate statement to appoint Hasan Mousavi as Mashaei's successor to the post of the president's chief of staff.

Mashaei was at the heart of the dispute from the first day of Ahmadinejad's re-election in 2009 when the president appointed him as his first vice president. Khamenei quickly stepped in and pressured Ahmadinejad to drop the appointment, and Mashaei was gone within the week in a stinging embarrassment to the president.

Ahmadinejad has widely been quoted in Iranian media as privately saying that it would be an honor for him to serve as first vice president under Mashaei.

Even with the president's support, it is unclear whether Mashaei, if he chooses to run, will make it onto the presidential ballot. All candidates in the elections must be approved by the hardline Guardian Council, a body whose key members are handpicked by Khamenei.

Many conservatives say Mashaei will likely be barred from running but others believe it could be a tough challenge for the ruling system to disqualify him from the vote.

I have never been to Saudi, and nor do I intend to ever.

The House of Saud is thought to be Jewish, and without the benefit of an open declaration by the Saudis of their Jewish faith, we can guess in that direction by some of their patterns of behavior in their neighborhood, and in the wider world.

1. It is alleged that almost 90% of the historical sites/structures of some 1400 years old pertaining to the area and later, have been systematically destroyed by the House of Saud in Makkah and Medina. The Jewish Saudis say that such "development" is necessary for "modernization" and to accommodate the increasing number of humble (1 billion followers of the faith) Ummah to the two Holy sites...of which the House of Saud is the self appointed Guardians, courtesy of the evil British empire.

HOWEVER, destruction of old Islamic sites seems also to be a policy of Israel in the Occupied territories, with the Dome of the Rock being a future objective target ........and Jewish directed Hollywood movies take great pleasure in the destruction of old historical sites in other Middle Eastern countries......Transformers....the Pyramids. 

In Iran, the USA/UK installed puppet mullahs of 1979 mobilized mobs to destroy Persia's pre-Islamic monuments, including the remains of Persepolis and the tomb of Shahenshah Cyrus. The Jewish funded Bolsheviks 1918--1991, destroyed over 5000 churches and many Mosques in the Soviet Union, and other historical buildings.

Clearly "al-CIA-duh" and OBL will not say a word about such grave desecration of very important historical sites and buildings in their own motherland, never mind their religious value and connection to this modern troubled era.

WHY?

2. Saudi Arabia serves Israel's and USA's geo-strategic objectives in the region. Saudi Arabia funds terrorists and destabilization programs in the Greater Middle East for Israel and the USA.

3. The 10,000 members of the House of Saud don't live very Salafi/Wahabi orthodox lives, as their Jewish family religion dictates. Their time and considerable money is spent on the whore Houses and Casino's of London, Paris and NY.

4. Saudi Arabia sustains the petro-dollar, and most of the oil funds end up in the Jewish banks in London, and New York. Saudi oil money is not wisely used to make the country into a modern NIC, at a very minimum, where all Saudis benefit from the oil wealth, generated since the 1930's for 82 years. Saudi Arabia buys huge quantities of Western arms from the UK/USA...which then gather dust and rust due to lack of maintenance....and use.

Paris Hilton with theKhazar appearance is believed to be crypto-Jewish .....the wonderful thing is that when these creatures reach the pinnacle of society in Western countries, they adopt a Western/WASP persona, as a legitimating reflection of their financial status, and power, AND hide their Jewishness. This is the obvious Jew weakness....the "Chosen people" of this earth. Paris Hilton represents, another type of Jewish power....in her kind of artificial beauty, anti-social behavior, and her open flaunting of the law of the USA. Her decadence and her "celebrity" and success for being nothing and doing nothing in the Jewish run USA. Saudis say No to the Prophet Muhammad, Yes to Paris Hilton

More and more people are speaking out against the Saudi regime, and the way in which its Wahhabi ideology has linked together an utter disregard for the historical heritage of Muslims with an unabashed embrace of vapid capitalism.     

In both Mecca and Medina, the Saudi state has already bulldozed over 90% of the Islamic monuments going back some 1400 years.     

In their place, they are putting up five star hotels, parking lots, and shopping malls.

Adding injury to insult: In the same cities of Mecca and Medina, where the Wahhabi-backed Saudi state has bulldozed the historical shrines and cemeteries of the family of the Prophet, now we have the establishment of shopping malls featuring…. Paris Hilton.

So this is what it has come to.   


The so-called “Guardians of the two sanctuaries” bulldoze Islamic history, tear down the houses associated with the Prophet and his family, and in its place put up shopping malls by vapid symbols of the most crass capitalistic materialism the world has to offer.  

No wonder many are talking about the transformation of Mecca into another Las Vegas.

Yes, the Saudis have bulldozed:

*An Ottoman Fortress overlooking and protecting Mecca, plus a whole mountain, was removed to put down the monstrosity known as the Mecca Royal Clock-Tower, aka “Big Ben on crack.”

*The house the Prophet was born in, currently a library, is under consideration for destruction.

*The house of the Prophet’s wife, Khadija, who is referred to by Muslims as the “Mother of the Faithful” was recently torn down, and in its place a row of toilets were established.

*Old Ottoman and Abbasid columns will likely be torn down to make room for a 680 million dollar expansion of the Great Mosque.

*The old historic cemeteries of Jannat al-Baqi, containing the remains of the descendants of the Prophet, have been bulldozed, and nothing but a dirt mound remains of the former shrines there.

Sami Angawi, the director of the Hajj Research Center which is trying to preserve what’s left of the Islamic heritage of Saudi Arabia says of the Saudi state: 

“They are turning the holy sanctuary into a machine, a city which has no identity, no heritage, no culture and no natural environment. They've even taken away the mountains.”

Often the excuse is used that with the global increase in the number of Muslims coming to Mecca, these expansions are necessary to accommodate these pilgrims.    

However, there is no reason why the hotels for the pilgrims couldn’t be put outside the historical center of Mecca, thus preserving the monuments.

   

 YES INDEED, humble pilgrims from Somalia and Sudan will live in these rooms.

 Furthermore, in place of these historical monuments, many of which hold a sacred significance to all Muslims outside of the Wahhabi sect, the Saudi state is building five star hotels that cost as much as $7,000 a night.    

In other words, these policies are not only bulldozing the history of Islam, they are also subverting the radical egalitarian teachings of Islam most beautifully symbolized in the rich and poor standing shoulder to shoulder wearing simple unadorned clothing in the House of the One God.   

Now the poor teeming masses are below, and the ultra-rich can reside in their 5-star suites looking down at the Ka’ba.    

Lastly, these absurd towers even displace the very symbolism and centrality of the Ka’ba.

The Saudis make a great deal of their honorific as the “Caretaker of the two Noble Sanctuaries” in Mecca and Medina.   

One has to wonder about a kind of Care that says no to the legacy of Muhammad, bulldozes it, and invites Paris Hilton in its place.    

These shrines, these historical sites, indeed Mecca and Medina, do not belong to the Saudi state.   

They are treasures belonging to the worldwide Muslim population, indeed the whole of humanity (as the Prophet was sent as a Mercy to all the Universes).   If the Saudis insist on calling themselves the caretakers of the two sanctuaries, their first task should be in fact to take care of them--and not bulldoze them.  

If they can not or will do not so, then someone else has to step up to provide care for these historical and sacred heritages of humanity.

The Prophet Muhammad once said that Islam began in this world as a stranger, and it will someday return as a stranger.

In looking at the uber-Capitalist, history-bulldozing practice of the Saudi/Wahhabi state, one cannot help but cry at the strange kind of Islam that now rules over the House of God and the home of the Prophet.
