Blix: US, Israel source most of IAEA allegations

A former chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency has challenged a report delivered by the IAEA in November on Iran’s nuclear activities, pinpointing that the agency receives unverified intelligence, mostly from the US and Israel.

In an exclusive interview with Qatar-based news network, Al Jazeera, on Saturday, Hans Blix stated that the IAEA received information from a variety of sources, mostly from the United States and Israel.

“My view is that they must assess it very carefully and critically because otherwise they can be pulled by their noose,” he asserted.

“I remember from inspections in 2002 and 2003 that there was a famous document that allegedly to be a contract between Iraq and Niger for the import of yellow cake of uranium oxide quoted by [former US] President [George W.] Bush in his State of the Union message. The IAEA had it for one day and concluded that it was a forgery. [Former IAEA head, Mohamed] ElBaradei then announced it was not authentic. That shows how careful you have to be,” Blix stated.

The UN nuclear agency’s current Director General Yukiya Amano issued a report on November 8, accusing Iran of pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran dismissed the report as “unbalanced, unprofessional, and prepared with political motivation and under political pressure mostly by the United States.”

Tehran argues that, as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and a member of the IAEA, it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

The IAEA has conducted numerous inspections of Iran's nuclear facilities, but has never found any evidence of diversion in the country's nuclear activities.

Blix likewise noted that Iran had been very cooperative as to allowing the IAEA experts to visit the Parchin military base, situated some 28 kilometers (18 miles) southeast of the capital Tehran.

He highlighted that it was typical for any country to be rather reluctant and not let international inspectors go anywhere in such venues. Nevertheless, Iranians have been more open than most other countries, he said.

Israel, always vociferous in its accusations against Iran’s nuclear energy program, is itself widely known to possess between 200 and 400 nuclear warheads. Tel Aviv, however, refuses to allow its nuclear facilities to come under international regulatory inspections and rejects all the regulatory international nuclear agreements.

Blix also called on the Western states to support Iran’s bid to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) and assist the Islamic Republic’s civilian nuclear program.

Furthermore, the former IAEA chief condemned the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists, stressing that such actions could not deter Tehran's nuclear energy program.

Sibel Edmonds Has Named Names. Why Isn't The Media Reporting The Story?

SIBEL EDMONDS, a former FBI translator, claims that the following government officials have committed what amount to acts of treason. They are lawmakers Dennis Hastert, Bob Livingston, Dan Burton, Roy Blunt, Stephen Solarz and Tom Lantos, as well as at least three members of George W. Bush’s inner circle: Douglas Feith, Paul Wolfowitz and Marc Grossman. But is Sibel Edmonds credible?

(Wolfowitz and Feith at the Pentagon planned and shaped America's wars in Afghanistan and Iraq post 9/11, until the realization dawned on Dubya that these guys were essentially Israeli spies working at the center of American military power, and were subsequently let go in 2005. “Absolutely, she’s credible,” Senator Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) told CBS’s 60 Minutes when he was asked about her in 2002. “The reason I feel she’s very credible is because people within the FBI have corroborated a lot of her story.” Edmonds’s remarkable allegations of bribery, blackmail, infiltration of the U.S. government and the theft of nuclear secrets by foreign allies and enemies alike rocked the Bush Administration. In fact, Bush and company actually prevented Edmonds from telling the American people what she knew—up until now.

John M. Cole, an 18-year veteran of the FBI’s Counterintelligence and Counterespionage departments, revealed the panic of upper-echelon officials when Edmonds originally started talking back in 2002. “Well, the Bureau is gonna have to try to work something out with Sibel,” Cole said an FBI executive assistant told him at the time, “because they don’t want this to go out and become public.”

But they couldn’t “work something out with Sibel” because, it seems, she wasn’t looking to make a deal. Edmonds says she was looking to expose what she believed to be the ugly truth about the infiltration of the U.S. government by foreign spies. They were enabled, Edmonds claimed, by high-ranking U.S. officials and insider moles planted at nuclear weapons facilities around the nation.

“Everybody at headquarters level at the Bureau knew what she was saying was extremely accurate,” Cole said recently. “They were trying to figure out ways of keeping this whole thing quiet because they didn’t want Sibel to come out.”

(If the FBI kept this quiet, rather than investigate and expose it.....one wonders what role they played in covering up Israel's connection to 9/11. There is persistent rumor in the USA that in fact the FBI fully participated in the false flag ops of WTC 1993, Oklahoma City bombing and 9/11 with Israel, killing Americans for Israel's agenda's and thus instituting the security state of post 9/11 and the Patriot Acts.

Edmonds’s most disturbing allegations, however, may be against high-ranking appointed officials in the Bush Administration. Elaborating on testimony she laid out in her sworn deposition, Edmonds told American Conservative magazine’s Phil Giraldi—a 17-year CIA counterterrorism officer—very specific details of alleged traitorous schemes perpetrated by top State and Defense Department officials. As already noted, these included Douglas Feith, Paul Wolfowitz and, perhaps most notably, former Deputy Undersecretary of State Marc Grossman, the third-highest-ranking official in the Bush State Department.

Edmonds said that Feith and Wolfowitz were involved in plans to break Iraq into U.S. and British protectorates months prior to 9/11. She also claimed that the duo shared information with Grossman on how to blackmail various officials and that Grossman had accepted cash to help procure and sell nuclear weapons technology to Israel and Turkey—and, from there, on to the foreign black market. There the technology would be purchased by the highest bidder, such as Pakistan, Iran, Libya, North Korea or possibly even al-Qaeda.

( It is unlikely duel national Israeli spies as the above would sell nuclear technology to Israel.........more likely give, as in free, with commission. Turkey's involvement is its strategic location straddling Europe and the Near East, as a transit point for such technology transfers, and not as a major inside player.

Pakistan would not be a major beneficiary from this nuclear black market. Pakistan acquired the nuclear bomb by December 1984, with considerable help from China, according to AQ Khan writing to his daughter. This black market network had been set up in the late 1980's and into the 1990's. That is not to say Pakistan didn't go shopping into this black market, and that Israel was fully aware of Pakistan's participation. Then this Jewish puzzle gets odder.......If Israel approached India many times during the 1980's to attack Pakistan's nuclear facilities without success, then why would Israel simultaneously supply Pakistan with stolen nuclear technology from the USA? The fact that stolen nuclear technology from the USA by Israeli spies in America ended up in Pakistan is not a fact in dispute....what is is the motivation of these Israeli spies.

Iran are we seriously saying high ranking Israeli spies, ardent Zionists of Israel, and ardent Likudniks would knowingly supply mullah Iran with nuclear technology from the USA? Maybe, stranger things do happen....either directly via Turkey or through Pakistan. The mullahs never showed much interest in nuclear civilian power, and when they first came into power, one of their very first acts was to shut down the Shah's ambitious multi-billion $ nuclear program, and the mullahs' only really started the civilian nuclear program again in the late 1980's half heartedly. I've always suggested that Mullah Iran is Jewish run........it just smells it that way to me. If these American Jews steal nuclear technology, and knowingly supply to Iran directly or indirectly through the black market.......might it not indicate their confidence in the "Jewishness" of Mullah Iran.(Ahmedinejad, Saeed Imami Deputy Head of Iranian intelligence until 1999) So what are we to make of the constant allegations by Israel that mullah Iran is making nuclear bombs?

I like him he's a character..........Libya is an unremarkable desert state of about 6 million, not noted for anything. You can have nuclear bomb ambitions and all that, but you must have the scientific community to create these things...........they are not created magically by genies. Libya doesn't have a credible scientific community in this area. Pakistan by contrast had Professor Addus Salam, Nobel prize winner for theoretical physics and of course AQ Khan and about 5,000 scientists specializing in the field. Gaddafi had the money $2-3 billion of which he gave to Pakistan in the vein hope they would give him a bomb.....the Pakistanis clearly intimated to him they wouldn't share their technology with him, and so he began his own program with little success of course, and finally after extensive negotiations with the USA, he voluntarily gave up his program in 2004?? Gaddafi is believed to have some Jewish lineage, and thus it would not surprising why Israeli spies in America would knowingly supply Libya stolen American nuclear technology through the black market.

Additionally, Edmonds claimed that Grossman, the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey before taking his State Department post, had tipped off Turkish diplomats to the true identity of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame Wilson’s front company, Brewster Jennings & Associates, a full three years prior to their being publicly outed by columnist Robert Novak. That in itself, according to George H.W. Bush, would be an act of treason carried out by “the most insidious of traitors.”

Former CIA counterterrorism officer Giraldi summed up Edmonds’s disclosures to me in blunt terms: “This was a massive coordinated espionage effort directed against United States nuclear secrets engineered by foreign agents who successfully corrupted senior government officials and legislators in our Congress. It’s that simple.”

According to a declassified version of a 2005 Department of Justice Inspector General’s report, Sibel Edmonds’s allegations are “credible,” “serious” and “warrant a thorough and careful review by the FBI.”

Perhaps more damningly, the FBI’s John Cole recently confirmed a key element of Edmonds’s claims when he revealed the existence of “the FBI’s decade-long investigation” of the State Department’s Grossman. Edmonds claimed that Grossman was perhaps the top U.S. ringleader for the entire foreign espionage scheme. The probe, Cole added, “ultimately was buried and covered up.”

The mainstream U.S. media, however, apparently remain uninterested in investigating any of it. Not even after Cole himself called for a “Special Counsel” to investigate and prosecute. So what the hell is going on here?

Giraldi believes that, as with companies such as AIG and GM becoming “too big to fail,” the size and success of this massive national security espionage scandal has simply become too big to bust.

He told me, “You have to look at Marc Grossman being part of a much bigger operation in terms of the Israelis and the Turks obtaining influence over our legislators and over a number of senior government officials at the Pentagon and State Department. Because this thing was so big, and it affected both Democrats and Republicans, I think the U.S. government is terrified of opening up this Pandora’s box.”

Giraldi added, “The people in Congress and in the Justice Department who should be investigating this…and also in the media—because the media is tied hand and foot to government—this is all part of one big, you know, conspiracy, if you want to look at it this way. And, essentially, this is a story that they don’t want to get out.”

So why, exactly, isn’t the media covering Sibel Edmonds, whom the ACLU once described as “the most gagged person in the history of the U.S.,” now that she is finally able to tell her story? It’s a story, after all, that the legendary 1970s whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg has deemed “far more explosive than the Pentagon Papers.”

“If we had an effective mainstream media that was going after this story, that would make it come out,” Giraldi noted. “But we don’t have an effective media.” He then pointed out one more reason for the media’s reluctance to dig into this story: “According to Sibel, Grossman actually bragged that he would get from the Turks the information that they wanted to appear in an article. He would write it up, and he would fax it over to the New York Times, and they would print it just as he had written it under somebody else’s byline.”

Guess we won’t expect any coverage of this scandal from the New York Times, “the paper of record,” any time soon. And if a story isn’t covered by the Times, and thereafter picked up by everybody else, did it really happen? Given the complicity of the media with regard to Sibel Edmonds, it would appear the government never even needed to invoke the “State Secrets Privilege” in the first place.

The enrichment stand off

The nuclear question seems to be the biggest issue concerning Iran. It is treated by the USA/UK as the biggest issue facing Iran, and the Iranian leadership have unfortunately responding by treating it as the biggest issue for Iran when in fact there are other more pressing internal issues. Worse still the mullahs have rallied the country around it instead of defusing it and dealing with it a lot earlier. They have not effectively and quickly neutralised the problem as they should have done. They have played the USA's/Israel's game when they should have avoided it and steered well clear of it.

It is well known that the USA/UK/Israel are seeking confrontation with Iran, it is a matter of when and with what the Iranian leadership provides the excuse for confrontation.

The continued unqualified Iranian cooperation with the IAEA which has been taking place for the last couple of years has yielded Iran NOTHING tangible, but has resulted in the loss of 'National sovereignty' and the simultaneous loss of `Security sovereignty`. These are grave sacrifices to make for any nation, especially when Iran does not receive anything tangible back in return for such total cooperation.

The IAEA year after year make their reports, and say that they have not uncovered any programs which indicate that Iran is conducting a covert nuclear program. In addition in the same report they always leave a proviso saying that they are not 100% sure about everything, and that they need to continue visiting any and all military/security sights in Iran.

No nation in the world except Iraq has submitted to such intrusive foreign inspections. Such intrusive inspections for over 10 years did not save Iraq from invasion eventually again in 2003, because the findings of the inspectors were totally ignored by the Americans anyway. Besides Iraq in 1991 was a defeated nation which had to accept tacitly to intrusive inspections as a result of being defeated militarily for wrongly invading another neighbouring country. In addition It had been proven to the international community that the state of Iraq had used WMDs against it's own citizens. Such negative assertions, such as they existed against Iraq does not exist against Iran. Iran should not feel such weakness as to fully prostrate itself against the will of the Americans to full and intrusive inspections for so long, AND receive no diplomatic reciprocity in return, but further and worse vilification from the USA and Israelis mainly.

This cooperation with the IAEA is leading nowhere, however a sudden and untimely withdrawal of cooperation with the IAEA may be deemed by the USA, UK, Israelis with the Zionist media a major security incident and affront which will require an appropriate 'response'. I am not calling for Iran to unilaterally with draw cooperation with the IAEA, but done in conjunction with another policy, that of cessation of nuclear enrichment for a temporary period of a few months. The loss of uranium enrichment is a TEMPORARY loss of 'technical sovereignty' and not as some have said a full loss of 'inalienable rights' . The two are quite different. The loss of uranium enrichment is not the end of the world for Iran. The loss of uranium enrichment is not that a big deal. You stop for a while because it is pragmatic to do so, and start again later. It would be a pity if the regime should fall after war because of this small issue. The Iranian leadership should thus tone down the propaganda this area. Though I accept Ahmedinejad will continue with the wild rhetoric because he is sure to loose in the next Presidential elections unless the Majlis votes him out before his tenure finishes.

The IAEA was established by the Eisenhower government in the 1950's to safely regulate the civilian nuclear industry, as more and more countries sought to use nuclear power. Naturally hyper sensitive Israel realised that such an organisation could be an excellent cover for espionage work against potentially hostile nations and their peaceful nuclear programs. Thus from the 1950's Israeli intelligence has developed close relations with the IAEA. In fact many of its operatives are Israeli intelligence operatives. The same is true of many Western intelligence agencies, such as Germany:

Thanks to the IAEA inspections, the United States (and Israel) had extremely detailed intelligence on Iran’s nuclear enrichment program… (p. 147)

I am saying the IAEA is not merely a nuclear inspections organisation, but a covert military intelligence gathering organisation which works for the USA/Israel/UK.

That personnel in the IAEA are mainly individuals who work for foreign intelligence agencies--- as shown when Scott Ritter and David Kay later openly revealed after they had finished their work in Iraq.

That contrary to state propaganda, with special personal announcements by Ahmedinejad every few months (odd political behaviour for a man who is loosing his domestic popularity because he is not dealing with the REAL ISSUES related to the Iranian economy etc), the nuclear uranium enrichment program is probably having problems given the fact that Iran does not have access to the full international civilian nuclear market. Then rather than struggle on, Iran should shut the enrichment program down, and re-access it again. The cost of continuing the program does not equal the benefits.

Recommendations:

Shut down the uranium enrichment program immediately, as have been requested by Iran friendly countries such as Russia, China and India.

Sign a temporary uranium enrichment contract with Russia, as they have generously offered. If they do not comply with the strict terms of the contract, as with any commercial contracts it can be immediately cancelled. I doubt, given the nature of the contract, and the international profile that the Russians will fail to live up to their end of the contract as it is too high profile. They will honour the agreement.

Then when all that is done, get the IAEA inspectors out of the country as soon as possible. Their presence in Iran and their work is a serious threat to Iran's 'national sovereignty', and is also a threat to Iran's 'security sovereignty'.

The Iranian government ceases false Israeli/UK/USA propaganda that uranium enrichment is the only and main issue facing Iran. The Iranian leadership stops playing these countries games. There are other more important pressing issues which requires the full attention of the Iranian government/international community .........such as the genocide in Iraq....unemployment in Iran....the emigration of millions of educated Iranians from Iran with their capitol worth over $800 billion........Iranian economy is a Communist economy.........The poor situation of the oil/gas industry.......The massive corruption inside Iran.........inflation........poverty........homelessness......diplomatic isolation in many respects............poor governance.............arbitrary/banana republic laws.............banana republic judiciary..............slave trading.............narcotics/drug dependency epidemics..............low infrastructure investment levels..............so on and so on..........The ability of the UK/USA/Israel to control/fool/manipulate the Iranian leadership so easily.

The Iranian government thus also quickly recognises that Iran is not Iraq:

No nation correctly submits to such inspections of such magnitude, for so long, without any clear reciprocity and continue barking about 'inalienable rights'. If they continue to do so one may well ask who are the true foreign agents and spies in Iran.
