I was born a Pakistani.
I lived in Pakistan from 1966-1970.
I was supposed to go back to Pakistan, after a brief holiday in Bangladesh, but the seniors advised my mother to stay in East Pakistan to let the clouds of political turmoil settle.
Otherwise, I would have grown up in ISLAMABAD, with my dad working in the Defense Department related to COBRA ATGW rocket, rocket fuel and rockets to boost take-off of scrambled jets. (with NATO German scientists and engineers at WAH)
Probably would have gone to a Pakistani university, and gotten married to a nice Pathan girl, as my dad had a lot of friendly Pathan colleagues at work. Field Marshal Ayub Khan encouraged the marriage of East Pakistanis with West Pakistanis to bridge the divide, and some Bengalis took him up on that idea.
I myself in spirit and genetics consider myself an IRANIC Pashtun.
Pashtun invaders from 1200 AD conquered and Islamised Buddhist Bengal.
I have spoken with a Pakistani government officer Dr. Farook Rana about how to move Pakistan forward in 1983, when I was 17 in the UK...39 years ago.
AND, around 9/11 2001, I became frantic in ensuring Pakistan was not attacked by the USA (Pakistan ran the Taliban)...sending out letters/faxes begging the USA not to attack Pakistan...whilst working in London.
I started blogging about Pakistan in 2007, and stopped writing about it by 2011?
I lost hope, and interest and of the opinion that Pakistan was a FAILED STATE....... POST-COLONIAL STATE run by the British and USA Empire, with a Feudal/military class dominating the country, which was NEVER going to change.

The USA felt they owned Ayub Khan, and were angry that he authorised a war against India, when India's pants were down after 1962, using American arms to attack India. The American's arms were supplied to Pakistan as a CENTO member to be pointed against the Soviet Union, not India. What made it worse is that Ayub Khan went to the Soviet Union, a year later and signed peace agreements without consulting the USA, in a country that was the arch-nemesis of the USA.

These generals in the army are SIMPLE people. They don't have an understanding of the complexities of International relations. Worse still is if they think they can competently run COMPLICATED MULTI-CULTURAL countries, CUS the USA embassy in Islamabad says so. Worse still if the USA Field Marshal Shuja simple Simon gets the wrong advice from his set of echo chamber experts, sycophants.
A destabilised Pakistani CIVILIAN government put on the back foot by the ISI/army unable to complete its full term, does not mean it is incompetent...or corrupt...or stupid.

St. Jimmy Carter came to South ASIA immediately after being inaugurated as President, did great things for Bangladesh (Thank you sir--We love you). Lectured India about its NUKE bomb program at Pakora 1974. Then went to Pakistan and asked ZAB what he meant by 'We will eat grass if we have to in order to sacrifice for the nuke bomb' paraphrased? The American President as with India lectured ZAB and berated him saying that when he returned to the USA A STRONG LETTER WOULD BE SENT TELLING ZAB NOT to pursue the nuke bomb. ZAB THEN published the audio of the USA PRESIDENT SAYING THREAT TO ZBIG? VIA ISI TECHNOLOGY---AND THE USA became ballistic.
A word of advice to ALL NATIONS, do not shame the USA so directly unless you are Russia.
A military coup takes place, ZAB is put in prison on sham charges and hanged 2 years later by the USA/PAKISTAN ARMY.
1988 DESTRUCTION OF THE ENTIRE TOP ECHELON OF THE PAKISTAN ARMY. The USA finally after 11 years believed that it was the military that was the driving force behind the Pak nuke bomb program, not the civilian politicians. But the USA WAS 5 years too late, and with Libyan money and national zeal Pakistan had the bomb by 1983.
1999 POSSIBLE PEACE BETWEEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN, WHEN PM BHAJPAIYEE VISITS PAKISTAN, BUT GENERAL MUSHARAF DURING VISIT LAUNCHES FALSE FLAG FAKE ATTACK USING 5,000 NLI paramilitary mostly (no intention of winning). Musharaf comes to power with 9 years of USA approval AND SUPPORT.
2007 Musharaf kills ANOTHER BHUTTO using ISI, with USA support but the USA ALSO uses this event to remove Musharaf from power when there is an international outrage.
2022 IMRAN KHAN, DISLIKED BY THE CIA/STATE DEPARTMENT FOR SPEAKING TOO FRANKLY PRECEDING HIS PRESIDENCY SPREAD WHISPERS ABOUT HIS GOVERNMENT. KHAN VISITS MOSCOW ON THE EVE OF RUSSIAN SECURITY OPS IN UKRAINE. PAKISTANS ECONOMY IS DESTABILISED, AS WITH TURKEY--FINANCIAL WAR. (INFLATION) As with Mossadeq of Iran not anti-AMERICAN PER SE, but a nationalist, which the USA NEEDS TO ACCEPT, UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT.
SO, why have I after 11 years of absence more or less written about Pakistan?

Imran Khan may be a Charles DeGaul who 'saves' Pakistan.
The USA dislikes him, and have single-handedly ear marked him for removal, and his visit to RUSSIA IS JUST AN EXCUSE TO GET RID OF HIM, but the process of removal had started LAST YEAR, NOT YESTERDAY.
If the USA dislikes him it could be because he is an effective leader (I don't know, I don't follow Pakistani politics).
At a personal level the CIA/STATE DEPARTMENT PSYCH-OPS GAME WITH ME INVOLVING FORK-LIFT TRUCKS RELATES TO IMRAN KHAN.

4. We will not allow Aryan politicians to emerge in South Asia, after we eliminated Sanjay and Rajiv Gandhi using a kala Sala terrorist girl trained by MOSSAD in South India.
