Its people live in an ultra modern state, where crime rates are absurdly low, the streets clean, high incomes, healthy, educated, efficient bureacractic state, and continuity and stability.
There are no minerals in Japan, and so the country survives on exports.
There are no deep dark high crimes of the state since 1945 of the type you normally associate with the mafiaesq USA.

The most recurring story Westerners get about Japan is that their society is old and dying.
The latest polling data shows that 40% of Japanese Millennials are virgins. Every year fewer couples get married and fewer babies are born than the last year. The country's median age? 46.
