Beyond the scope of reason – The Witch-king of Angmar Asked to Resign for Spying on the Elites
CIA Director John Brennan is in the pretend hot-seat over a newly released CIA Inspector General’s Office report “accidentally” leaked to McClatchy which claims the CIA hacked into Senate intelligence committee computers back in 2009 when they were pretending to “investigate” torture and detention practices of the agency.
.
It does make for a nice juicy distraction from reports of Obama spoon-feeding Israel more WMDs while they reload, doesn’t it? Not to mention Israel’s breaking of the 72 hour ceasefire agreement in less than 72 minutes.
.
The ridiculousness of the parameters of the carefully controlled debate are worth mentioning briefly only because they are so absurd.
.
Brennan is pretty much as bad of a CIA director as they come. He’s basically a monster having been around the agency and Homeland Security since the Clinton days and through the stellar Bush years after 9/11 when the 9 rings of power were handed out to various “qualified” individuals to fight the Global War of Terror.
.
As a career intelligence warrior Mr. Brennan has soiled his paws with pretty much every nasty little CIA operation we have been made aware of and probably many that we haven’t as of yet.
John was involved in setting up and running the Disposition Matrix database. For those of you with short memories, that is the system (if you wish to call it that) the White House and CIA use to determine which leftists, honest politicians and unfriendly businessmen of foreign countries in places like Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Afghanistan, and elsewhere are to be targeted by our lovely drones in service to “our national interests”
.
Brennan was CIA station chief in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia when the Khobar Towers bombing occurred. He was made executive director of the CIA in March 2001 so he was around for that little false flag as well.
.
Over the years of his Bush service, he helped put together multiple Orange alerts, all politically motivated as it turns out, spreading fear and panic across this nation as best he could.
.
He only took a little time off from “public service” to start-up his own security and intelligence consulting businesses, long enough to cash in on the revolving door of fascist politics in AmeriKa, and then, back to service in the CIA he went.
.
I like to call him the Witch-king of Angmar for a number of reasons but primarily because the Witch King is an empty shell with immense power. That’s a scary thing, but considering the last few presidents we have “elected”, it seems to be par for the course and a prerequisite for public service of any kind in the neo-liberal structure of our neo-feudal system.
.
Today the Lord of the Nazgul is in hot water, distracting the left and the right from the criminally insane Israeli attacks on Gaza and our neo-Nazi puppets in Ukraine doing about the same things to their own people in the east. If ever President Peace Prize and his neo-liberal White House needed help with their left cover, now is the time.
.
Mark Udall has called for Brennan to resign over the latest non-scandal, the CIA’s hacking into Senate intelligence committee computers.
.
Udall strikes a noble if not grand-standing position with his declaration:
“After being briefed on the CIA Inspector General report today, I have no choice but to call for the resignation of CIA Director John Brennan,” Udall said in a statement. “The CIA unconstitutionally spied on Congress by hacking into Senate Intelligence Committee computers. This grave misconduct not only is illegal, but it violates the U.S. Constitution’s requirement of separation of powers. These offenses, along with other errors in judgment by some at the CIA, demonstrate a tremendous failure of leadership, and there must be consequences.” Igor BobicFirst of all I would like to explain to Mr. Udall (I call him “Mr.” because the senate has done NOTHING of use this year and therefore he and all the rest don’t deserve to hold that title. My brother is a doctor, he works everyday to help people in a hospital. He has EARNED the title “Dr.” and the respect that comes with it. Udall and his ilk have not. Obviously) that the CIA has been illegally murdering people and kidnapping them and torturing them across the globe for quite a while now. This is an uncontroversial statement.
.
They have been illegally spying on U.S. citizens and even shooting them with hellfire missiles from their drones. One of which was only 16 years old. again, not a controversial statement.
.
They have been illegally operating psychological operations inside this country, on U.S. soil for years now, some of which have resulted in the loss of innocent life.
.
They have reconstituted the Mockingbird program in which they constantly feed propaganda through their complicit assets in the media in the U.S., again, an illegal operation since the ’70s.
.
They have been sharing information, personal information, on U.S. citizens that they weren’t legally allowed to collect, with agencies of foreign countries.
.
This they did and do with the expressed purpose of supporting the transition of this nation into a purely fascist state: the one party, Business Party a.k.a. the Washington Consensus.
.
This is what the intelligence services of the United States, what I aptly call the Nazgul, has become. Not that it was that different back in the early days of by Allen Dulles and all those Nazis we brought over from Germany after the war. Hell, they killed presidents back then and propped up some of the most brutal fascist dictators the world has ever seen in service to “our national interests”
.
But at least then they had the common decency to attempt to hide their bloody indiscretions.
To me it’s fascinating and very telling that Mr. Udall and the members of the senate pick this particular issue as the launching point in their Kabuki Theater production of “Let’s Hold the CIA Accountable”
.
I suppose the message that is meant to be sent is that all these other grave “errors in judgement” are just fine so long as they involve other, lesser, citizens of the U.S. and the world (the “Be a shoe!” people in the tail of the train), but when they start to inflict their particular form of Ministry of Truth tactics on the Chosen Ones in the senate, the elites as it were, then heads have to roll. Better nip this one in the bud or they may start thinking they can target senators with drones.
As bad as that is for us shoes, what’s really ridiculous is this:
.
Brennan wasn’t CIA director in 2009 when this hacking took place. Leon Panetta was. How about arresting him? Nah…
.
Brennan is being attacked openly and asked to resign because he lied about it. He went before the senate not that long ago and swore the CIA never hacked the senate. He claimed that would be beyond the pale.
Brennan later adamantly denied that his agency had broken the law. “As far as allegations about CIA hacking into Senate computers, nothing could be further from the truth,” he said. “We wouldn’t do that. That’s just beyond the scope of reason.” Igor BobicHe lied, no question. However… he’s the head of the CIA. There is no career choice one can make where they are expected to lie as much as a CIA asset other than possibly that of prostitute, defense attorney or used car salesman.
.
The CIA is expected to lie because that is what they are. Their world view is a lie. And the more they internalize the Big Lie, the more they make it their only religion, the higher up the ranks they go.
.
A CIA director lied? Which didn’t? George H. W. Bush? His lies took him and his insipid offspring to the White House. His eldest will be the next president.
.
They want to hold Brennan accountable for lying and not Panetta for actually spying on the senate? Is this a joke?
.
As bad as this is, let me show you just how f*cked up our political system has become: just how far beyond the scope of reason we have traveled, how far down the road to Mordor we really are. Let’s look at the public reactions from our glorious leaders.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest issued a full-throated defense of the CIA chief on Thursday, telling reporters that Brennan had “been candid about the inconsistencies that the IG found.“…It’s almost enough to make you want to crawl in a hole and drink it all away.
… “What’s needed now is a public apology from Director Brennan to staff and the committee, a full accounting of how this occurred and a commitment there will be no further attempts to undermine Congressional oversight of CIA activities,” Wyden said…
… Brennan has convened an accountability board, chaired by retired Sen. Evan Bayh (D-Ind.), a former member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, to investigate the matter.
In a softly worded statement released Thursday, Feinstein called the apology and effort to conduct a review a “positive first step.” The report “corrects the record and it is my understanding that a declassified report will be made available to the public shortly,” she added. Igor Bobic
.
Are you kidding me? The one thing they have on the Witch King, the one thing they actually pretend to want to hold him accountable for is lying… so the White House comes out… AND LIES ABOUT IT
.
Are you kidding?
.
Want to get to the bottom of it? OK, says the senate… let’s get the LIAR to put together an investigation and HE will tell us what happened… about his lying.
.
Is that supposed to be funny?
.
What do we call a good first step? “I’m sorry”
Are you sh*tting me?
.
It’s all a swirling cesspool circling the drain and occasionally a clump floats to the top (or is pushed up there), just briefly, for us all to experience with our dulled senses. Dutifully the Ring Wraiths reach up and drag the exposed floater back down to the warm embrace of the slush pit of human waste we call governance in America these days.
.
Each time our expectations die a little. Each time we learn to embrace the horror a little tighter.
And we just sit and watch in shock and awe, like outclassed little hobbits wearing rings we can’t possibly understand, at just how bad it all turned so quickly.
Where are you Elrond? Where are you indeed.
