It is still the first week since Saturday’s peace deal between the US and the Taliban was signed. Things aren’t going ideally, but Secretary of State Mike Pompeo says that the US intends to move forward with the process.
The US narrative on the process has varied wildly over the past few days. After the Afghan government reneged on promised prisoner releases, The Taliban attacked Afghan targets. By Wednesday, the US had also attacked a Taliban target with an airstrike.
Gen. Mark Milley downplayed the violence, saying that the Taliban have fulfilled a series of conditions, they haven’t attacked any Afghan capitals, nor have they attacked any foreign troops, as pledged under the peace deal.
While Pentagon officials have largely said they don’t consider the attacks a big deal, while Pompeo has said Taliban attacks are unaccepted. At the same time, he says that everyone knows the prisoner exchange needs to happen.
The problem is that the Afghan government has argued that the prisoner exchange is up to them, not the US. The US promised the release to the Taliban, but only made a deal with the government to explore the idea.
The Taliban has said the prisoner exchange was clearly a big deal in negotiations, and a big topic, not something that can just be dismissed now that the deal is reached.

Concern and genuine liberal compassion for Hispanic Latino's is not about helping them illegally enter the USA, working for undocumented low wage dangerous work on the margins of society, subsisting, and patronising them as obedient vote banks. BUT, letting them live in their own country's in peace and dignity with a modicum of prosperity through fair trade so that they are not 'forced' to leave their country in the first place and make the hazardous journey to America.
AND........you invite all the leaders of Central and South America to the Whitehouse lawn and symbolically burn orginal copies of the 'Monroe Doctrine' from the Library of Congress.
AND what about President Trump our White Knight saviour. He has allegely let in 5 million illegals into America during his tenture, a very high volume in just over 3 years. He made a massive song and dance about building the WALL, by negotiating with the DNC in the Whitehouse and using WWE language leading Nancy Pelosi to STORM OUT without agreements (wHAT VAUDIVILLE THEATER FOR ALL SIDES). All he had to do was the usual undocumented dump of tax dollars on the USA military.....and order them to use part of the funds to build the WALL as a national security priority. If the military had built the Wall as a national security priority and it was their project, the Wall would have completed by now...without 5 Million illegals coming into the country, just after 3 years of his Presidency. AND ofcourse as a billionaire he has a track record of hiring millions of undocumnted illegals in his business ventures in America.
