The Criminal British state can accommodate Celts in other parts of the British Isle, and give them greater self autonomy....such as Wales, and Scotland, without the need to create war zones. However such places are homogenous and don't have huge numbers of English migrants living in their midst. Protestants constitute 57% of the NI population.

The good news is that being Irish is no longer the butt of the joke/prejudice in British society........and a massive propaganda campaign has been conducted since the 1980's by the British media which make the Irish look positively cool. Logically then, given this situation the Criminal British State can now come to some form of peaceful accommodation with the 43% of Catholics in NI. I say logically.....but often base primitive instincts often have a life of their own, which defy logic by any measure.

China poised to control strategic Pakistani port

China is poised to take over operational control of a strategic deep-water Pakistani seaport that could serve as a vital economic hub for Beijing and perhaps a key military outpost, according to officials.

The construction of the port, in the former fishing village of Gwadar in troubled Baluchistan province, was largely funded by China at a cost of about $200 million. It has been a commercial failure since it opened in 2007, because Pakistan never completed the road network to link the port to the rest of the country.

Chinese control of the port would give it a foothold in one of the world's most strategic areas and could unsettle officials in Washington, who have been concerned about Beijing's expanding regional influence.

The port on the Arabian Sea occupies a strategic location between South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East. It lies near the Strait of Hormuz, gateway for about 20 percent of the world's oil.

China's interest is driven by concerns about energy security as it seeks to fuel its booming economy. It wants a place to anchor pipelines to secure oil and gas supplies from the Gulf. Beijing also believes that helping develop Pakistan will boost economic activity in its far western province of Xinjiang and dampen a simmering, low-intensity rebellion there.

Some experts view Gwadar as the westernmost link in the "string of pearls," a line of ports from China to the Gulf that could facilitate expansion of the Chinese Navy in the Indian Ocean. That has sparked concern in both the U.S. and India.

Pakistan's Cabinet agreed Wednesday to a proposal for a company owned by the Chinese government, China Overseas Port Holdings Limited, to purchase control of the port from Singapore's PSA International Pte Ltd., which won a bid in 2007 to operate the port for 40 years. The transaction has not yet occurred, a spokesman for Pakistan's Ministry of Ports and Shipping, Mohammed Raza, said Friday.

Pakistan views China as one of its most important allies and a counterweight to the United States, which has given Islamabad billions of dollars in aid but is often viewed as a fickle taskmaster.

China is expected to pay $35 million for control of the port to PSA and two other groups that own an interest, said Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, one of the other shareholders. The third shareholder is the National Logistics Cell, which is controlled by the Pakistani army. The Chinese are waiting for a Pakistani court case challenging PSA's control of the port to be dismissed to complete the transaction, Dhedhi said.

A senior Pakistani official said Beijing has agreed to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to finish a 900-kilometer (550-mile) road that would link the port with Pakistan's north-south Indus Highway, facilitating overland transport from Gwadar to China. The Pakistani government was supposed to complete the road in 2012, but it is only 60 percent finished, said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters.

It will still be a tough drive, passing along the Karakorum Highway that winds through the rugged mountains of northern Pakistan and then into Xinjiang province via a border crossing point at an elevation of 4,693 meters (15,397 feet). The path is often blocked by snow in winter.

Even so, the route will cut the overland distance from China's western provinces to the sea in half, from about 4,000 kilometers (2,500 miles) to China's east coast, to just 2,000 (1,250 miles) south to Gwadar.

Longer-term plans also call for road and rail links from Gwadar that would pass through strife-torn Afghanistan to energy-rich Central Asian states.

Asked about the port on Thursday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said "as long as projects are conducive to China-Pakistan relations, the Chinese side will positively support them."

The port is operating at only about 15 percent capacity now, and machinery originally installed by China is rusting for lack of use, said a Pakistani port worker, speaking on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters.

On a purely economic basis, the level of trade through the port should be zero because of its drawbacks, but the government is spending millions of dollars in subsidies to ship fertilizer through the facility. It would be cheaper to send the shipments through the coastal city of Karachi, 700 kilometers (430 miles) to the east, the worker said.

Some government officials have claimed that violence in Baluchistan has prevented them from completing the road network. Baluch nationalists have waged a decades-long insurgency against the government, demanding greater autonomy and a larger share of the province's natural resources.

Gunmen shot to death two Pakistani air force personnel and a shopkeeper in a town near Gwadar on Tuesday, said local police official Izat Ali.

Other officials said the ruling Pakistan People's Party simply shifted priorities away from Baluchistan and spent the money building roads in its main areas of support in Sindh province.

"The solution to Gwadar is the Chinese, since they have shown the willingness to work in Pakistan under tough conditions," said shareholder Dhedhi.

Pakistan Tribes Turn Against Army

“We demand an immediate end to the military operation in Khyber Agency because it has not brought any results during the past three years,” says Iqbal Afridi from the Pakistan Tehreek Insaf party. “The military operations are killing the local population while the militants remained unharmed.”
 
Afridi from the Khyber Agency unit of the party led by former cricketer Imran Khan spoke with IPS near the Governor’s House in Peshawar, the northern Pakistani city adjacent to the Khyber Agency region in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Party members had brought bodies of 18 local people reported killed by Pakistani security forces in nearby Alamgudar village.
 
Thousands of local tribal people, including students, civil society members and leaders of political parties joined the bereaved families in the protest against the army.
 
“The military operations have brought lives of the eight million population in FATA to a standstill,” Afridi said. “The seven tribal agencies have remained under curfew and the population has become completely idle.”
 
Juma Khan Afridi from the family of some of those killed told Inter Press Service (IPS) what happened. “We were asleep when security forces scaled the walls of our home. They asked the women to get aside,” Khan Afridi, a student of the same family told IPS. He said he survived because he put on a veil and stood with women.
 
This is not the first time the army has killed innocent people in Khyber Agency, he said. “It is because of the growing anger that bereaved families brought the coffins of their dead relatives to protest.”
 
Wazir Muhammad, political analyst at the University of Peshawar, said people of FATA had been bearing the brunt of the U.S.-led war on terror for the past four years, but had remained silent due to fear of reprisals by the army.
 
The protest by Hazara communities in Quetta in Balochistan over their dead had given strength to local tribal people in FATA, he said. More than 100 people, including 83 Shias were killed in two bomb explosions in Quetta Jan. 11. The relatives there had refuse to bury their dead immediately in protest.
 
Only after braving three nights in Quetta’s freezing temperatures next to their slain loved ones did the families of the bombing victims end their protest and bury the bodies amid strict security measures in a Hazara graveyard. They did so after the government imposed governor’s rule in Balochistan.
 
“Anger is growing over the acts of terrorism everywhere in the country. The people are rightly protesting over the army’s killing of the innocent,” Muhammad said.
 
The Khyber Agency incident has opened a new chapter of protests against the army. “It is for the first time that people have chanted slogans against law enforcement agencies for their failure to provide protection. It will continue in the future if the army doesn’t mend its ways,” Umar Farooq, whose younger brother was among the dead, told IPS.
 
“It was not just the brutal killing – the army took away the slain bodies from the site of the protests and buried them on their own. Being Muslims, we wanted to give bath and have funerals before lowering them to the graves.”
 
The killings come after a dubious army record. In 2009 the Pakistan army, he said, was shown in a video to be shooting from close range at seven boys in Swat. The army had argued that they were Taliban but they looked innocent and juvenile, he said.
 
“The incident caused international outrage and the U.S. – the main sponsor of the Swat Operation – briefly withheld aid,” Farooq said.
 
In October 2010 the U.S. sanctioned six units of the Pakistani military operating in the Swat valley under the Leahy Law – which requires the U.S. State Department to certify that no military unit receiving U.S. aid is involved in gross human rights abuses. The law requires that when such abuses are found, they must be thoroughly investigated.
 
Despite pledges, Pakistan did not take any action to hold the perpetrators accountable as required under the law.
 
In several instances in Swat, Balochistan and the tribal areas, U.S. aid to Pakistan has continued in apparent contravention of the Leahy Law.
 
Human Right Watch said in its 2012 report that conditions had deteriorated markedly in the mineral-rich Balochistan, with disappearances of civilians, and an upsurge in killings of suspected Baloch militants and opposition activists by the military, intelligence agencies and the paramilitary Frontier Corps.
 
“The government appeared powerless to rein in the military’s abuses,” it said. Human Rights Watch recorded the killing of at least 200 Baloch nationalist activists in 2012.
 
In April 2010, the Pakistan army chief, Gen Ashfaq Kayani, apologised for the deaths of dozens of civilians during air raids near the Afghan border. The civilians were members of a pro-government tribe which had resisted Taliban influence.
 
On Jan. 17, shortly after the last killings, the army was severely criticised in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly. Lawmaker Saqibullah Khan said such incidents were bound to create anger against the army among the people, and should immediately be stopped.
 
“The federal government should immediately stop military operations against militants as these have failed to establish peace. They have become the main source of creating problems for the civilians.”
 
Member of the National Assembly from the Awami National Party Bushra Gohar told IPS that the military campaigns have displaced 1.2 million people in FATA and had adversely affected the lives of tribal people. “Since 2005, we have started military operations in most of the seven tribal agencies of FATA, but militants are gaining strength while the poor people are suffering.
 
“We demand an end to the military operation in FATA,” she said.

Withdraw from Afghanistan and stop peddling drugs into Europe via Kosovo, Bosnia and Albania, the little failed NATO RUN narco-states. It is simply criminal that mafiaises the Turkish military, MIT and police...sometimes resulting in inter agency fights. Iran should not be used as transit for such an evil trade.

'Iran, Turkey can bolster regional peace, security'

A senior Iranian lawmaker says cooperation between Tehran and Ankara plays a major role in promoting peace and security and resolving crises in the Middle East.

Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel made the remark in a meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Iran Umit Yardim on Saturday.

“Political, economic and cultural relations between Tehran and Ankara are at the highest level at the moment and the resolve of the two countries’ officials for the promotion and development of mutual ties is strong,” he added.

Haddad-Adel went on to say that Iran and Turkey as two important countries in the region have worked side by side on the basis of mutual respect as well as cultural and religious commonalities.
The Iranian lawmaker also stressed the importance and crucial role of the two countries’ 

legislative bodies, adding that continued consultations between the two countries’ parliaments will further strengthen the friendly ties between Tehran and Ankara.
 
Yardim, for his part, described the relations between Iran and Turkey as good and developing, saying that the Turkish officials are determined to promote ties with the Islamic Republic in all areas.
 
The Turkish envoy also pointed out that Iran is a major player in the region adding that economic, political and cultural cooperation between Tehran and Ankara will lay the ground for strengthening ties between the two nations.

Medievel "Modern" Mullah Iran builds a 5th generation stealth fighter.........can we see it take off, fly, manouver and land? Can it be mass produced?.....OR is it made of paper cardboard and a mere illusion?

It is indeed remarkable that a LEDC country with a mere $1 trillion PPP GDP can produce a 5th generation FGA

Usually 5th generation fighter/bombers FGA are the preserve of Super Powers...

USA: F-22, YF-35 ($15 trillion PPP GDP) Industrial base $3 trllion; 

China: Chengdu-20 ($12 trillion PPP GDP) Industrial base $5.5 trillion; 

Russia: The PAK FA Sukhoi T-50 ($2.2 trillion PPP GDP).Industrial base $1 trillion. Russia's economy is too small for a super power, but the country has the infrastructure, technology and expertise of a former super power.

Iran: Qaher 313 ($1 trillion PPP GDP) Industrial base $350 billion...a lot of it around the petrol-chemical industry.

Of course the Germans only produced 490 of the excellent Tiger II tanks against the Soviet production record of 85,000 T-34 from 1940--1954. "Quantity has a quality of its own"........Iran must produce 565 of these new planes at an underground assembly facility, near an existing military airbase, near Tehran........and the 3,000--4000 additional factories and workshops for the various parts of the plane.

I am guessing that most of the parts of the plane were manufactured in China, Russia and possibly Germany. Iran did the assembly.

Gossip is that the project originated in Germany, but the cost, the end of the Cold War...and the need to avoid an effective independent airforce capability since the end of WWII scuppered such a plan. 

Germany is a puppet state of the USA, whose nukes on German soil are controlled by the USA, and about which Germany has no say. German military/security/police are controlled by the USA either directly or through NATO. Finally elections are preordained and fixed according to American wishes (similar arrangement with Japan and South Korea)

Despite this America domination of Germany, the stealth project somehow passed  to Medieval "modern" mullah Iran in the 1990's, where it is now presented itself in 2013 or Qaher 313 fighter jet......on the 34 anniversary of the Iranian revolution. However one could also argue that 80--90% of the project was Iranian, and Iranian driven, and that substantial sections of the projects parts being foreign based should take nothing away from the final achievement of the Iranians.



In this twisted and illogical world it is just possible that the project was passed to Iran with American knowledge.........

(i) Either to bring balance to the Middle East vis a vi Israel 

(ii) Or to make the Iranians look more technically capable then they really were/are, with a Dodo White Elephant one off project that produces a mere1/2 such planes which are too expensive for LEDC Iran to maintain and utilize optimally (but for show)......if they can build 5th generation stealth fighters in complete secrecy so the possible argument goes, why not nuke bombs meme? 

The USA in the past has after all given excellent blue prints of nuke technology/bombs to Iran via Russian scientists.....British Intelligence passed bomb making technology to the IRA.....AND the best,.... little Israel and their agents ran a nuclear industry spare parts black market to North Korea, Libya, Pakistan.......and Iran from the 1980's.

1. At a more general level, what Iran really needs is state of the art electronic warfare equipment.

2. A modern comprehensive air-defense system, with 3000 medium SAMs M-Tor types, and 300 long range SA-300 type SAMs......with 10,000 missiles.

3. An effective modern airforce with at least 500 Qaher 313 fighter jets.

4. A modern effective professional army that can at least defend Iran's borders within the spectrum of defensive warfare, never mind offensive operations with considerable armored formations.

5. Develop greater cooperation with Russia and China to the point where these friendly powers guarantee safety and security to Iran in the manner the above two countries give to North Korea.

6. Develop strategies to eject the USA from the Persian Gulf, and the Middle East generally with the aid of neighbors friendly to Iran, and which ALSO suffer from the imperial hubris of the USA......Through peaceful means and common cause.

7. Mullah Iran should advertise the social and economic benefits that the puppet mullah regime FIRST,............     installed by the UK/USA IN 1979...... bestow on the Iranian people, rather than showcase secret expensive weapons systems which have yet to prove their worth in the battle field.

8. Iran should be ready for MASS MODERN WARFARE, and yet avoid war.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ahmadinejad unveils Iran’s new low-flyer fighter jet Qaher 313

In the anniversary of Iran's 1979 Revolution, Iranian president unveils indigenous Qaher 313 (Conquer) fighter jet, developed by Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics.

Mehr News Brig. Gen. Ahmad Vahidi, congratulated the great achievement of Iran, saying that “this is the major breakthrough towards the fulfillment of the Supreme Leader’s insights,” and added “all design and production process of Qaher (Conquer) 313 indigenous fighter jet has been done by Iranian Aerial Defense Industries Organization and their professional scientists.” In describing the physical characteristics of the Qaher 313, Vahidi said; “this is an advance fighter jet, with enhanced profile and a very small Radar cross section (RCS) and fly-by in low altitude is the most important feature of this fighter.” He also pointed to the need for short runway for taking off and landing of Qaher 313 fighter as another feature. Brig. Gen. Vahidi outlined the use of advanced materials in aircraft construction and using advance avionics in the Qaher 313 fighter jet cockpit.  Defense Minister also stressed on the payload capabilities and ability to carry the latest indigenous advanced armaments and said “Qaher 313 fighter jet is outstanding symbol of ingenuity, creativity and courage of professional Iranians in Defense Ministry.”

Iran’s super advanced Qaher-313 can evade radars: Defense minister

Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi says Iran’s new domestically-designed and developed fighter jet, Qaher-313 (Conqueror-313), is ‘super advanced’ and capable of ‘evading radars.’

Speaking on the sidelines of its unveiling ceremony on Saturday, Vahidi said the aircraft had a “very low radar cross section” and was capable of conducting operations at low altitudes.

The Iranian defense minister noted that highly-advanced materials and electro-ionic systems had been used in the structure of Qaher-313, adding that the aircraft was capable of carrying advanced armaments.

Qaher-313 can take off and land on short runways and it has easy maintenance, Vahidi said.

The newly-unveiled Iranian military aircraft is said to be similar to the US-built F/A-18, although its appearance is like F-5E/F Tiger II.

The new single-seat bomber has been manufactured based on state-of-the-art technologies and modern defense achievements.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in its defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

Azarakhsh (Lightning) is Iran’s first domestically-manufactured combat jet.

Saeqeh (Thunderbolt) fighter jet is a follow-up aircraft, derived from Azarakhsh. Iran unveiled its first squadron of Saeqeh fighter bombers in an air show in September 2010.
