Corruption is not the crux of the STATE problem

The bizarre drama of the intriguingly named Anna Hazare saga reached its climax on Saturday 9th when the government of India, in Delhi seemed to have caved into the demands of the lone Crusader against corruption. Maybe they will make a Goondawood movie about this event, staring .........Dev Anand as Hazare, in his native RSS/Siv Sena Maharashtra........singing and dancing of course with Modi of Gujarat who he has endorsed; Poor lad, educates himself for a few years, joins army, finds Nirvana at war in 1965, and public service finally......overcoming the sheer bloated corrupted government of the Congress Party, through his lone efforts.

That's the Fairy Tale, but what really happened?

Congress is rudderless, with a geriatric leadership under ManMohan Singh, and now into its second term is on the defensive...OBVIOUSLY.

The Ardash scam, the 2G scam, the Commonwealth Games scam's, Military Golf Course scam's, and the sudden discovery that there are between $500--1,500 billion looted from impoverished India by the corrupted elite lying idle in Swiss Bank accounts alone .....has correctly generated public anger. (70 tax havens around the world, excluding the UK and USA....otherwise 2 favorite destinations of South Asia's assets by the corrupted governing post-colonial elite from Bangladesh to Pakistan)

PM Singh is a weak front for Sonia, the real back seat driver who herself is wholly uneducated, not holding a single under grad degree, but is the unofficial leader of the country simply because she is the wife of former PM Rajiv Gandhi, and through marriage she belongs to that famous dynasty. Clearly Congress is insecure...as it should be.

India has 69 Billionaires.

The Congress Party has been in charge of the show for most of the 63.5 years of "Independence" run by the Macaulay Brown sahibs, so obviously they must take the greatest direct flak for the nations many woes. However what is sad is that in a Great Nation such as India, the government of such a great nation has to bow to the wishes of one man, and the blackmail tactics of a lone hunger striker.

That is not the way to run Great nations, and governments.

There are many levels of financial corruption:

(i) Corruption between individual citizens.

(ii) Petty corruption between government officials and civilians.

(iii) Big corruption cases involving powerful public figures in government and the private sector.

With the first and second, in developed countries, there is quite a lot of transparency which allows Joe public to seek redress if corruption is involved, usually through civil or criminal action. The neutral (a) state institutions, (b) effective governance, and (c) the rule of law is quite sufficient to prevent high levels of corruption in the first two cases, in Developed countries. Though there are variations between say Norway, New Zealand on the one exemplary end and Greece, Italy and Portugal at the other.

However in the instance of the third kind of financial corruption, the level of corruption is as great if not greater in Developed Countries as it is in any Third World country. But because the system of the nation state works, and the scamsters are more sophisticated, infiltrating governments and controlling them (USA/UK)......big corruption cases in First World countries, save a few (Enron/Bernie Madoff) don't really surface as they do in India.

Consider that London is the headquarters of the global narcotics trade and money laundering ($600 billion annually) with New York, since the days of the East India company over 200 years ago.

The Pentagon does not know what has happened to $3 trillion of its expenditure from 1990--2001. There is no audit, and "al-Qaeda" helpfully cruise missiled the single office of the Pentagon which was investigating the trail of this money in 9/11 2001.

Barak Obama, elected by Wall Street money has given corrupt, mismanaged Wall Street Banks trillions of $ to "Bail them out" of their own corrupt, deceptive, criminal practices.

The USA installs puppets in Third World Nations; pressurizes them to put ALL their nations money in American banks, and then topples them (Shah of Iran, where the USA is holding between $40-50 billion of the Shah's Iran assets, with interest)

Despite the above, the USA is still a successful country, with tremendous prosperity, and an economy of $15 trillion. The UK is still a successful country, with tremendous prosperity, and an economy of $2 trillion. What makes these two countries First World, and prosperous is the total absence of the first two kinds of corruption. Which also allows Indian expats to succeed into millionaires through sheer hard work, and business acumen in the USA and UK. The OVERALL system of the state works.

I do not condone the third category of big corruption, I abhor it. We must also remember that Germany and Japan are doing quite well, with huge economies, without the clear indication of running the third type of big league corruption cases, through the government and big business.

However major league corruption is not the crux of the problem for a Developing nation.

The main challenges are:

Governance

Transparent, effective state institutions.

Good strategic policies which are useful for the state in all spheres.

Effective leadership which articulates state policies to the state structure and the masses

China is successful not because the Communist Party is completely incorruptible, and there are no cases of major corruption in the country....quite the contrary. However the Communist Party in China is strong, is meritocratic and not based on dynasty politics....governance is effective...with effective top down state institutions...and finally good strategic policies for the state, which bears obvious fruit.

India by contrast is a mafia state, where the government is weak, epitomized by PM Singh, and the organized criminal elements strong (oil mafia, movie mafia, wheat mafia). Government operates on a minimalist basis, despite all the hue and cry, with the budget accounting for about barely 20% of the official GDP.....and far less of the real GDP ($4 trillion).

Indian Government institutions are corrupt, colonial era and ineffective---they don't do their jobs that well, thus obviously governance is very weak. Finally most government policies are inappropriate for the strategic development of the country, but instead is a mixer of bandage wrapping and hole plugging adhoc policies depending on the publicity that is generated by the "popular" Westernized media (TOI, Hindustan Times, Anglicized TV channels).....Indian governments are shallow, and inactive.

However trying to hold hunger strikes against such deep institutional problems is not going to be easy, trying to galvanize the public at the same time.

How do you hunger strike against a corrupt MOD, which thirsts for foreign arms purchases, which affords huge kickbacks for the netas and babus involved, but compromises India's strategic defense policies?

How do you you hunger strike against a corrupt worthless MEA, which does not know how to pursue India's external interests even in its back yard?

How do you detect ALL the spies working within the state structure for foreign governments for money? (Mitrokin papers reveal to us that most of Indira's cabinet worked for the KGB, whilst a few worked for the CIA).....who works for India and its poor people?

Hunger strikes against corruption is noble, and gauges audiences in India. The poor man with no money has some satisfaction against the man with too much money. But the focus and meditation in Civil society action must ultimately focus on how to improve GOVERNANCE, EFFECTIVE STATE INSTITUTIONS, GOOD STRATEGIC POLICIES OF THE STATE, and finally GOOD LEADERSHIP WORKING WITHIN EFFECTIVE PARTIES, which are not paid for and run by International bankers and their agenda's in the West.

But have I not stated quite clearly in previous blogs that corruption is the number one enemy of Developing countries? Yes it indeed is, but the question is how do you go about tackling it which makes the overall system of the state more effective?

I just don't think having a ten man committee (including 5 heavy government political insiders with a lot of experience dodging the ball).....with no lawyers with experience with complex corruption cases, or no clean honest untainted senior police officers again with experience with financial corruption will have the clear capacity to tackle the huge area of "CORRUPTION IN INDIA"......but instead will react to media stories, and exposes by journalists, piecemeal.

I'm not sure you can get rid of corruption in such a huge impoverished state.

In that scenario, it will be more effective if the informed and concerned section of Indian society focus on making India work more effectively as a state and society of 1.2 billion by improving governance bit by bit, state institutions through reform....bringing them into the 21st century through investment, reform, training (police)...developing better national strategic policies.......these things are doable, step by step, through strong leadership.

.....HOWEVER erasing the 3 categories of corruption mentioned above is near impossible in impoverished India. Certainly a peoples Lokpal will be a political football with too little resources, time, and energy to deal with the huge area of "corruption in India".....even though it may check hopefully the open season corruption in Indian politics. (Commonwealth Games scam, on going defense contract scam's since the 1960's from the day's of Indira Gandhi, indeed all government contracts scrutinized)....and corruption in the States.

ANNA HAZARE

In my last post, I argued why we cannot accept corruption as tolerable in some fields but not tolerable in others. I also argued that tolerating corruption in any segment of a society ultimately leads to its encroaching every nook and cranny of the society, and the situation culminates in corruption and un-patriotism merging into one another.

Since I posted that blog, I came across this interesting little news heading tucked away in the interior pages of a news paper: Defence contract: Dassault executive accused of bribery. The news item went on to explain that the ‘Indian Air Force has put on hold its dealings with the country manager of French defence firm Dassault Aviation for his role in the bribery scandal during the Aero India show in Bangalore’.

Exactly what was the role this manager played in the bribery scandal? It turns out that a Wing Commander of Indian Air Force, in charge of allotting parking spots for the aircrafts going on show demanded Rs 20,000 for allotting a preferred spot. An official premium for a preferred slot would have been understandable; but a personal consideration? Apparently this gentleman paid the sum, but took his complaint to the higher ups in Air Force, where upon the gentleman was accused of being involved in bribery and black listed, while the officer concerned wasn’t; or if he was, the news paper did not say so! Insiders tell us stories of how even preferred timings of demonstration flights have their ‘rates’!

Now is this your plain vanilla corruption of the usual business man variety or it something else? Air shows are meant for civilian and military aircrafts manufacturers alike to show case their wares. A wrong choice of the aircraft because it was not given a due slot could compromise the lives of passengers if the aircraft is civilian, and compromise national security if the aircraft in question was a military one. See what I mean about corruption and un-patriotism being inter-linked?

From all reckoning it does appear that the cup of corruption has indeed been overflowing in this country for some time now. A great majority of the so-called political leaders, the pilots, the air force brass, the army brass, the naval brass, the babus, the cops, the businessmen, the industrialists, the university professors on accreditation duties, the railway ticket collectors, the peons outside government offices, the lawyers, the judges, the journos, the doctors, the traders, the engineers, the contractors – apparently none of these groups can claim to be relatively more clean than the other. It is as if most of them fancy themselves a BSF Jawan on ceremonial retreat at Wagah border bent on outdoing the other. It is time when not just the politicians, but all of us as citizens need to look deep into ourselves as to whether or not we are corrupt.

After all the everyday graft seekers aren’t necessarily politicians, though the chain of corruption does go all the way up in most cases.(Sonia and family)

That is why the gentle Anna Hazare undertaking fast-unto-death assumes significance. People like Anna Hazare are evolved souls not given to jumping the gun like many of us are wont to. It takes a lot of doing for their patience to be tested. It is hardly surprising that Anna Hazare regards the corrupt politicians entrusted with the task of drafting the anti-corruption law as akin to a bunch of thieves appointed to design our home security system, when the thieves are still loose! It may not be feasible for every citizen to make a beeline to Delhi. (Tahrir Square in New Delhi---with 10 million..why not?)

But all patriotic and right thinking citizens of the country must provide every conceivable support to Anna Hazare, as thousands upon thousands are already beginning to do; but we are a country of a billion plus – so there is room for more support. Perhaps after Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan’s call for sampoorna kranti, culminating in Delhi’s Ramlila Grounds with evocative chants of Singhasan Khaali Karo Ke Janata Aaati Hai renting the air by a crowd of some 100,000 strong in 1975, Anna’s fast may be the next most significant mass movement in modern India yet.

Gaddafi writes to 'dear son' Obama

TRIPOLI: Colonel Muammar Gaddafi of Libya sent another strikingly personal letter to US president Obama, urging him to stop Nato's air strikes but drawing a swift rejection in response.

"You will always remain our son whatever happened,"

Obama, who since his inauguration has received three letters full of fatherly affection from the Libyan leader, did not respond. In Gaddafi's letter, addressed to "Mr Our dear son, Excellency, Baraka Hussein Abu Oumama," the Libyan leader reiterated his characterization of the rebels as "al Qaida gangs." He recalled Obama's repeated statements "that America is not responsible for the security of other peoples."

"That America helps only. This is the right logic," Gaddafi wrote, adding, "As you know too well democracy and building of civil society cannot be achieved by means of missiles and aircraft (Iraq, Afghanistan....both failed states), or by backing armed members of al-Qaida in Benghazi."

US secretary of state Hillary Clinton(crypto-Jewess) rebuffed the appeal from Gaddafi and demanded he withdraw his forces and go into exile. "Gaddafi knows what he must do," she said."There needs to be a ceasefire , his forces need to withdraw from cities they have forcibly taken at great violence and human cost. There needs to be a decision made about his departure from power and ... from Libya," she said.

Gaddafi wrote. "We Endeavour and hope that you will gain victory in the new election campaigne. You are a man who has enough courage to annul a wrong and mistaken action," he added, in idiosyncratic spelling and capitalization.

If this news story does not prove that banks are effectively above the law, I don’t know what does. The Guardian, in an account yet to be picked up anywhere in the US media (per Google News as of this posting, hat tip readers May S and Swedish Lex) reports that Wachovia was at the heart of one of the world’s biggest money laundering operations, moving $378.4 billion into dollar-based accounts from Mexican casas de cambio, which are currency exchange firms. While these transfers took place over a period of years, the article notes that it equals 1/3 of Mexican GDP. And the resolution?

Criminal proceedings were brought against Wachovia, though not against any individual, but the case never came to court. In March 2010, Wachovia settled the biggest action brought under the US bank secrecy act, through the US district court in Miami. Now that the year’s “deferred prosecution” has expired, the bank is in effect in the clear. It paid federal authorities $110m in forfeiture, for allowing transactions later proved to be connected to drug smuggling, and incurred a $50m fine for failing to monitor cash used to ship 22 tons of cocaine.

Most Western intelligence Services operate within the Jewish power structure.

Kim Philby became a journalist and a member the Anglo-German Fellowship, which supported the Nazi Party in Germany.

In 1936, Litzi and Kim Philby split up. They divorced in 1946.

While in Spain, Philby had an affair with Frances Doble, Lady Lindsay-Hogg, an actress and aristocratic divorcée who was an admirer of Francisco Franco and Adolf Hitler.

In 1940, Philby began living with Aileen Furse in London. Their first three children were Josephine, John, and Dudley Thomas.

In 1940, Walter Krivitsky, a Soviet spy who had defected to the West, was interviewed by MI5 officers in London.

Krivitsky claimed that a certain Soviet intelligence agent had worked as a journalist for a British newspaper during the civil war in Spain.

In 1940, Philby was working for MI6.

Philby divorced Eleanor.

In 1971, Philby married Rufina Ivanova Pukhova, a Russo-Polish woman twenty years his junior, with whom he lived until his death in 1988.

According to Rufina, in the late 1960s Philby attempted suicide by slashing his wrists.

And what of Philby's 'friend' Angleton?

Angleton, who was of the pro-Israel faction in the CIA. He was head of Counter Intelligence at the CIA from 1954 - 1975.

There is a theory that the key people in the CIA have always worked on friendly terms with the key people in the KGB and the key people in Mossad. (DO JEWS RUN THE SECURITY SERVICES?)

And Jewish folks are very influential in certain countries.

According to the controversial Eustace Mullins (CHAPTER FIVE - The CIA - 3): "While CIA station chief in Rome, the CIA's Angleton "worked closely with the Zionist terrorists Teddy Kollek and Jacob Meridor, and later became chief of the Israeli desk at the CIA, helping Philby to set up the lavishly funded international Mossad espionage operation, all paid for by American taxpayers."

In 1951, the CIA was investigating Kim Philby, the top MI6 agent working in Washington.

Angleton gave Schlesinger a list of people that he thought were Soviet agents.

This list included Harold Wilson, the British prime minister, Olof Palme, the Swedish prime minister, Willy Brandt, chairman of the West German Social Democratic Party, Averell Harriman, the former U.S. ambassador to the Soviet Union, Lester Pearson, the Canadian prime minister and Henry Kissinger, the National Security Adviser and Secretary of State under President Richard Nixon.

Schlesinger thought Angleton was suffering from paranoia.

In mid 1973, William Colby became the Director of the CIA.

Colby was not impressed with Angleton.

Mounting evidence of CIA ties to Libyan rebels

Numerous press reports over the weekend add to the evidence that the Libyan rebels fighting the regime of Muammar Gaddafi are under the direction of American intelligence agencies. Despite the repeated claims by Obama administration officials that the rebels are a largely unknown quantity, it is becoming increasingly clear that key military leaders of the anti-Gaddafi campaign are well known to the US government and have longstanding relations with the CIA.

For better than two weeks there had been a virtual ban in the US media on reporting the name of Khalifa Haftar, the long-time CIA collaborator who was appointed chief rebel commander March 17, on the eve of the US-NATO bombing campaign against Libya. Only the regional McClatchy Newspapers chain reported Haftar’s appointment, and ABC News ran a brief interview with him on March 27. Otherwise, silence prevailed.

This de facto censorship abruptly ended April 1, when a right-wing US think tank, the Jamestown Foundation, published a lengthy study of Haftar’s background and record, which was cited extensively by Reuters news service, and then more widely in the US and British media.

The Jamestown Foundation report declared: “Today as Colonel Haftar finally returns to the battlefields of North Africa with the objective of toppling Gaddafi, his former co-conspirator from Libya’s 1969 coup, he may stand as the best liaison for the United States and allied NATO forces in dealing with Libya’s unruly rebels.”

The Jamestown study noted Haftar’s role in organizing the Libyan National Army (LNA), which he founded “on June 21, 1988 with strong backing from the Central Intelligence Agency,” and cites a 1991 interview with him “conducted in an LNA camp in rural Virginia.” Not only did the CIA sponsor and fund the LNA, it engineered the entry of LNA officers and men into the United States where they established a training camp.

Reuters added, using a variant spelling of the name, that it has “repeatedly asked for an interview with Hefta but he could not immediately be contacted.” The news service added, “The CIA declined to comment” on its relationship to the former Libyan military leader.

Other references to Haftar’s role appeared in the online blog of the New Yorker magazine, in Africa Confidential, on National Public Radio, the British daily Guardian, and in the Independent on Sunday, another British newspaper.

The Independent column, headlined “The Shady Men Backed by the West to Displace Gaddafi,” described the Libyan rebel commanders as follows: “The careers of several make them sound like characters out of the more sinister Graham Greene novels. They include men such as Colonel Khalifa Haftar, former commander of the Libyan army in Chad who was captured and changed sides in 1988, setting up the anti-Gaddafi Libyan National Army reportedly with CIA and Saudi backing. For the last 20 years, he has been living quietly in Virginia before returning to Benghazi to lead the fight against Gaddafi.”

Finally, the Washington Post’s Sunday edition carried several references to Haftar, including a front-page article profiling the divisions within the rebel military leadership. “Khalifa Haftar, a former army colonel who recently returned to Libya after living for many years in Falls Church, was initially hailed by the Transitional National Council as a leader who could help discipline the new army and train its largely volunteer ranks,” Post reporter Tara Bahrampour wrote.
She then quoted TNC and rebel military spokesmen giving conflicting accounts, one saying Haftar had been removed from command, the other saying he remained in control of the military. A spokesman for the TNC, asked to explain the conflict in light of its earlier announcement of Haftar’s appointment, said, “This is the position of the council today. The situation is fluid.... The political viewpoints change frequently.”

Walter Pincus, the Post’s long-time reporter on intelligence activities, himself a former CIA informer in the National Student Association, described Haftar as “a former Libyan army colonel who for years commanded the Libyan National Army (LNA), an anti-Gaddafi group.” The article said Haftar had “established the LNA, allegedly with backing from the CIA and Saudi elements.” It continued: “In 1996, he was reported to have been behind an alleged uprising in eastern Libya. By that time, he was already settled with his family in Falls Church.”

According to Pincus, “a senior intelligence official,” asked about the Libyan commander’s connection to the CIA, “said it was policy not to discuss such issues.”

The informal blackout on Haftar’s identity and CIA connections still continues on the American television networks and in the pages of the New York Times—a newspaper that openly admits its subservience to the US military/intelligence apparatus. But the significance of the weekend press reports is unmistakable: the Libyan rebel military is not the independent organ of a popular uprising against the Gaddafi dictatorship, but rather the creature of American imperialism, the most reactionary political force on the planet.

The dubious character of the Libyan rebels was further underscored in a remarkable profile published Saturday by the Wall Street Journal of three Libyans who had fought with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan and were now playing major roles in the rebel military effort. Two of the three had been in US custody as alleged Al Qaeda operatives and one spent six years at Guantanamo Bay before being turned over to the Gaddafi regime in 2007. The three men are:

Abdel Hakim al-Hasady, described as “an influential Islamic preacher and high school teacher who spent five years at a training camp in eastern Afghanistan” and now “oversees the recruitment, training and deployment of about 300 rebel fighters from Darna,” a city in eastern Libya:

Salah al-Barrani, “a former fighter from the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, or LIFG,” who is Hasady’s field commander

Sufyan Ben Qumu, “a Libyan army veteran who worked for Osama bin Laden’s holding company in Sudan and later for an al Qaeda-linked charity in Afghanistan,” and who “is training many of the city’s rebel recruits.”

Hasady and Ben Qumu were arrested by Pakistani security after the US invasion of Afghanistan in 2001 and turned over to the US. Hasady was transferred to Libyan custody two months later, while Ben Qumu was moved to Guantanamo and held there until 2007, when he, too, was sent to a Libyan prison. The Gaddafi regime released both men in 2008, at a time when US-Libya collaboration in the “war on terror” was at its height. Such an action would certainly have been checked with Washington.

The former Al Qaeda warrior was quite willing to speak to the leading US business newspaper, which reported, “his discourse has become dramatically more pro-American.” He told the Journal, “If we hated the Americans 100 percent, today it is less than 50 percent. They have started to redeem themselves for their past mistakes.…”

Whether these individuals are Al Qaeda operatives who were “turned” by their American captors or have simply changed allegiance under changed circumstances is unclear. But their role in the Libyan opposition further undermines the longstanding propaganda of the US government about the supposedly unbridgeable gulf between Al Qaeda and American imperialism.

For a decade, the US government, under Bush and now Obama, has used the terrorist actions of Al Qaeda and its alleged supporters as a pretext for one military intervention after another in the Muslim world—Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, the Philippines, Indonesia and now Libya.

There has long been reason to doubt the “war on terror” narrative, not least the fact that Al Qaeda was effectively created by the CIA through its activities in recruiting and mobilizing radical Islamists to go to Afghanistan in the 1980s and join the mujaheddin guerrillas fighting the Soviet army there. Many of the 9/11 suicide hijackers were known to the CIA as Al Qaeda operatives, and in some cases under active surveillance, but were nonetheless allowed to enter the country, receive training at US flight schools and carry out the terrorist attacks.

An incident during a hearing Thursday before the House Armed Services Committee demonstrates the sensitivity of the US government concerning the links between US intelligence services and Al Qaeda. Democratic Congressman Brad Sherman questioned a witness, Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg, about the role of Abdel Hakim al-Hasady. Steinberg refused to discuss the matter, suggesting it could be taken up only in a closed-door session where US covert operations are regularly reviewed.

Tim Osman, aka Osama Bin Laden recruited by the CIA in the 1980's, running a database of some Arab fighters in Afghanistan in the 1990's for the CIA........sort of recruitment agency rep for the CIA and presumably Israel, for ops in Bosnia, Kosovo and other places. Tim Osman WAS certainly NOT the acknowledged leader of any of them, save for his immediate friends of a handful from Saudi. Tim Osman certainly WAS not the leader of an Islamist outfit strategically directing a dedicated cadre of 5000 hardened fighters of Arab orgin largely from Afghanistan.

To put it more simply the real leader of "al-Qaeda" is the CIA, and the destabilization of Arab regimes now (solely) which the Western media cheerfully describe as popular uprisings seems to be reveling the CIA's links with "al-Qaeda" more clearly then ever before.

If Islamists are at the center of protests against their governments in several Arab regimes, then this linkage between "al-Qaeda" and the CIA becomes more clear.......this is inevitable.

Since the late 1970's the CIA has been using Islamists to pursue USA strategic policy in the Greater Middle East, sometimes with the cooperation of the military security in such countries (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco). What is happening now is the continuation of that policy since the 1970's in Libya, NOW and it seems Yemen, Pakistan, Egypt and so forth.

Put simply Islamic Fundamentalism is the fifth column of Western Imperialism.

The hypocrisy is all too clear. Western Imperial powers such as the USA/UK talk about fighting so called "Islamic Fascism" but it turns out the key characters of Islamic Fascism in Arab civil wars are in fact closely groomed trainees of the very same Imperial powers.

As with Ayatollah Khomeini allegedly run by the CIA, along with Mullah Omer run by the ISI for the CIA, and Tim Osman by the CIA, Hamas by Israel.........once these Islamists come to power, presumably they too will be disowned and vilified as the above three, providing the casus belli to attack their countries with ground troops and more wars.

The CIA is a problem for the USA, and a problem for the world. The Jew cleverness of the CIA is creating multiple problems which only a few demented security people might get excited about.

Al Qaeda: Pawns of CIA Insurrection from Libya to Yemen

After two weeks of imperialist attack, Libya is being mangled by Al Qaeda terrorists, civil war, NATO air raids, cruise missiles, Predator drones, and C-130 gunships – all made possible by the CIA-backed Al Qaeda rebels of Cyrenaica. US, British, French, and Dutch commandos have taken leadership of the rebel forces, and are arming them with modern weapons in flagrant violation of the arms embargo specified in UN Security Council resolution 1973. Al Qaeda is also stealing heavy weapons on its own, as the president of Chad has reported. The singing tomorrows of the fatuous US-UK color revolution rhetoric have dissolved, exposing the hideous reality of a brutal, cynical, imperialist drive to destroy the modern nation-state itself.

Rebel Triumvirate of Terror Rules Darna

According to the London Daily Telegraph of March 26, Darna (also transliterated as Derna or Darnah), a key city in the rebel heartland between Benghazi in Tobruk, is commanded by al-Hasidi, an Al Qaeda terrorist controller who trained and hobnobbed with Osama bin Laden at the Khost terrorist training camp in Afghanistan. Hasidi boasts of having sent 25 fighters to fight US and NATO forces in Afghanistan; one wonders how many they managed to kill. Hasidi was a US prisoner of war after being captured by the Pakistanis, but tells the Wall Street Journal of April 2 that he now hates the US only “less than 50%” hinting that Americans can redeem themselves by appeasing Al Qaeda with arms, money, political power, and diplomatic support. At his side in the city leadership is Sufian bin Kumu, Osama bin Laden’s chauffeur, another terrorist who was an inmate at Guantánamo Bay for six years. Also among the Darna city fathers is al-Barrani, a devoted member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group, which merged with Al Qaeda in 2007. This gaggle of fanatics, psychotics, and criminals is billed by the CIA media as an effective ruling elite for the future democratic governance of Libya. In reality, the Benghazi rebel council, heavily larded with Al Qaeda terrorists, could only preside over the descent of the country into a chaos of tribalism, warlords, and criminal syndicates which would spell the end of civilization itself in the area. Precisely this appears to be the goal of US policy, and not just in Libya.

Darna, Northeast Libya: the World Capital of Terrorist Recruitment

Nor are these persons atypical. A December 2007 study by the US Military Academy at West Point showed that Libya (population 7 million) provided 20% of all Al Qaeda fighters crossing the Syrian border into Iraq at that time. This same city of Darna (population about 60,000) was the single greatest center of terrorist recruitment anywhere in the world, edging out Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (population 4.5 million); the rebel capital of Benghazi also placed in the top four. Libya sent twice as many terrorists into Iraq per capita as did Saudi Arabia, and 85% of the Libyans who indicated a specialty chose that of suicide bomber.

The London Economist, BBC Newsnight, and an increasing number of pro-Obama warmonger quackademics are attempting to obscure these plain facts. These are now mellow, pluralist, democratic terrorists, they argue. The CIA limited hangout operation known as Wikileaks has helpfully provided a few doctored cables purporting to show that it was really US support of Qaddafi that drove these fanatics into despair and terrorism — which is also part of the CIA line. On April 1, the Benghazi rebels themselves used the media presence at Friday prayers to hold up signs denying that the rebellion is run by Al Qaeda. If so, let them oust the terror triumvirate of Darna, and reveal the names of the dozen or more anonymous members of the rebel council who are suspected of belonging to Al Qaeda.

Hillary Clinton concedes she has no “100% insight” into the rebels, and US Admiral Stavridis, the NATO commander, has told the Senate Armed Services Committee that he sees only “flickers” of Al Qaeda. In truth, the central role of Al Qaeda is no flicker, but is as bright as the noonday sun over the Mediterranean

Four Plagues of Libya

The Libyan insurrection has four components. The first is provided by the British, and consists of the monarchist and racist Harabi and Obeidat tribes of the Benghazi-Darna-Tobruk corridor, whose traditional culture is that of the obscurantist Senussi Order. During the resistance to Italian colonialism, these tribes allied with the British and were rewarded by seeing the head of the Senussi Order placed on the throne in the person of King Idris I, overthrown by Qaddafi in 1968. Deprived of their role as the monarchist ruling class, these tribes hate the black or dark-skinned pro-Qaddafi Fezzan tribes of southwest Libya, and this has fed into the lynching and massacre of many black Africans from Chad, Mali, and Sudan working in Libya, which the western media have ignored. Enan Obeidi, the woman who claims she was raped by Qaddafi forces, is an Obeidat from Benghazi, and this puts her story into question. For the media, she is a new edition of the Kuwait incubator babies hoax of 1990, made to order to whip up war hysteria against Qaddafi.

Two ingredients come from the CIA. These are Al Qaeda itself, founded as the CIA’s own Arab Legion against the USSR by then CIA deputy director Robert Gates – the current Defense Secretary– in Afghanistan in 1981-82. Another CIA ingredient is the Libyan National Salvation Front, based first in Sudan and then in Northern Virginia, which is supposedly sending the CIA asset Khalifa Hifter to lead the rebel military, most likely also to cover the presence of the Al Qaeda types.

A fourth component is contributed by the French, who arranged the defection of top Qaddafi associate Nouri Mesmari last fall, as reported by Maghreb Confidential. A clique of generals around Mesmari helped foment the military mutinies against Qaddafi in northeast Libya.

And Libya is not unique. In Yemen, Al Qaeda operatives are decisive components of the CIA putsch attempt against President Saleh, which US is promoting in order to fragment Yemen into two or more rump states. Here the Al Qaeda leader is al-Shihri, a Saudi who was freed along with several other Guantánamo inmates and sent to Yemen by the Bush administration, allegedly as a humanitarian gesture, but in reality to provide leadership for the coming destabilization. Also in Yemen is the American-born Anwar Awlaki, known in the trade as Awlaki the CIA lackey, an obvious US double agent who has been used to give the Al Qaeda seal of approval to dozens of terrorists including the Fort Dix six, Major Hasan of Fort Hood, and Mutallab of Nigeria, the Christmas 2009 underwear bomber.

In Syria, the CIA goal is to deprive Iran of an ally, to isolate Hezbollah, to oust Russia from the Tartus naval station, and to build the power of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is the principal force promoting the insurrection so far.

Demand that the State Department Explain Why the US is Arming Al Qaeda Terrorists

Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan has rightly warned against the NATO policy of arming the Libyan rebels, since this would be “conducive to terrorism.” Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov has also condemned any NATO arming of the rebels. Pope Benedict XVI’s call for a cease-fire goes in the same direction. Russia, Turkey, China, and other governments must now formally demand explanations from the State Department as to why the US is providing the most dangerous international terrorists with modern weapons and training, while proposing to award them large chunks of the $32 billion of frozen Libyan government assets, plus a share in coming oil revenues. This is enough to make the Mediterranean, the Arab world, and southern Europe boil over with refugees, piracy, mayhem, and war. Under Bush and Cheney, the alleged presence of Al Qaeda was used as a pretext for bombings and invasions.

Under Obama, an overstretched and moribund US-UK imperialism is using Al Qaeda as its own irregular infantry in the effort to harass and cripple the nation-states of the world, causing them to disintegrate into a tribal, sectarian, criminal, and warlord chaos. In the current phase, Al Qaeda has resumed its original status as CIA guerrillas. As a result, civilization itself is threatened across vast areas of the globe. If you are skeptical, just take a look at the city council of Darna, Libya.

Basic problem of many Developing Countries with weak governance that they have not corrected their population problems. India now has 1.2 billion people, far far too many in such a poor country, and with the exception of Indira Gandhi no Indian government has seriously attempted to curb India's rapid rise in population which will reach a staggering 1.5 billion surpassing China in 2025.

Most Indian cities and general habitations are filthy, squalid, poverty stricken, smelly, dusty, disorganized, noisy, with beggars every where, and cows roaming freely, shitting every where....and with high levels of crime. No wonder only a few million tourists visit this vast country with a very rich heritage.

India is a "visual feast".....and one does not have to be an economics professor to see the reality of the country.

The sex ratio imbalance is sad, and only shows the general backwardness and ignorance of the people. However one hopes rather optimistically that demand for girls will rise at a certain critical point, fingers crossed.

In this failed state desperate scenario, 9% annual growth rates means very little, given the extreme wealth gap between the rich and the poor. In a nation where the elite educate their children in foreign rich countries and deposit their wealth in foreign tax havens.

SOUTH ASIA, must institute serious population controls or risk social and political instability related to over population. Its not about growing more food, on limited finite land using American designed Monsanto foods, where both Pakistan and India will face serious water shortage problems in the near future, its about controlling the population.

Though year in year out idiot Indian experts talk about how the young generation will create new demands and markets, pushing the country into rapid further development......however what they fail to mention is the poor governance of the central authorities in Delhi who are unable to utilize the full potential of the state, and that only a few sectors, which are not necessary labor intensive, or ever will are taking the Indian economy ahead allegedly, as stated by the Central government and their statisticians. But how much of that is real growth which is sustainable, and which will create real jobs for the newer generations?

India's population rises to 1.2 billion: Census of India 2011

India's population rose to 1.21 billion people over the last 10 years — an increase by 181 million, according to the new census released today, but significantly the growth is slower for the first time in nine decades.

The population, which accounts for world's 17.5 per cent population, comprises 623.7 million males and 586.5 million females, said a provisional 2011 Census report. China is the most populous nation acounting for 19.4 per cent of the global population.

The country's headcount is almost equal to the combined population of the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Japan put together, it said.

The population has increased by more than 181 million during the decade 2001-2011, the report said. The growth rate in 2011 is 17.64 per cent in comparison to 21.15 per cent in 2001.

The 2001-2011 period is the first decade — with exception of 1911-1921 — which has actually added lesser population compared to the previous decade, Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner of India C Chandramauli said in presence of Home Secretary Gopal K Pillai.

Among the states and Union territories, Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state with 199 million people and Lakshadweep the least populated at 64,429.

The combined population of UP and Maharashtra is bigger than that of the US.

The highest population density is in Delhi's north-east district (37,346 per sq km) while the lowest is in Dibang Valley in Arunachal Pradesh (just one per sq km).

The Census indicated a continuing preference for male children over female children. The latest child sex ratio in is 914 female against 1,000 male—the lowest since Independence.

"This is a matter of grave concern," Chandramauli said.

According to the data, literates constitute 74 per cent of the total population aged seven and above and illiterates form 26 per cent.

The literacy rate has gone up from 64.83 per cent in 2001 to 74.04 per cent in 2011 showing an increase of 9.21 per cent.
