Cites Lack of Response to Faxes as Basis

If the CIA sends you a fax telling you they plan to bomb something, whatever you do, respond.

That’s the lesson from today’s defense of the Obama Administration’s massive drone strike program against Pakistan, which claims that the CIA has sent faxes saying they plan more drone strikes to someone within Pakistan’s ISI and never heard back.

 

That amounts to “tacit consent,” as far as the administration is concerned, and apparently a level of consent that trumps the many, many public complaints by the Pakistani government about such strikes violating their national sovereignty.

The claims reflect the administration’s ongoing belief that when Pakistan’s government publicly condemns the strikes they don’t really mean it, and are only doing so for political gain because the strikes are so hugely unpopular domestically.

The US has struggle to find a legal justification for the strikes, and has often just blown off the direct questions about the program by claim its “classified.” The fax machine defense may be a really difficult sell however, and may prompt Pakistan’s ISI to check their incoming lines more often.

Syria will eventually conquer enemies, Iran VP says

Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi says Syria will eventually triumph over its enemies.

Rahimi made the remarks during a meeting with visiting Syrian Parliament National Security Committee Chairman Mohammad Sobhi Abou al-Shamat in Tehran on Tuesday, IRNA reported.

“Syria has undoubtedly a bright future and will overcome its present difficulties,” Rahimi noted.

He went on to say that the Zionists, who think they can create conflicts between “the followers of different religions by insulting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), are unaware that Muslims love all of the prophets of God and the followers of divine religions.”

For his part, Abou al-Shamat said that Syria is on the same front with Iran in the campaign against oppression, adding that the Arab country “will get out of its present crisis” soon.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since March 2011. Damascus says outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorists are the driving factor behind the unrest, and deadly violence while the opposition accuses the security forces of being behind the killings.

Western states have been calling for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to step down. However, Russia and China are strongly opposed to the Western drive to oust Assad.

The Syrian government says that the chaos is being orchestrated from outside the country, and there are reports that a very large number of the armed militants are foreign nationals, mostly from Egypt, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, and Afghanistan.

Zardari is an American puppet, who has been in power for four years through the backing of the USA. But a momentum of popular public indignation has built up against Zardari, and hopefully finally in the future there will be action against him....he deserves it.

However the writer, whilst obviously thoroughly versed in FACTS, leaves out two key items that destabilize Pakistan into a failed state. Zardari has been in "power" if we can describe it that way for a mere 4 years....when he goes the "system" of corruption will still be there. 

One questions whether he really exercised power on key state issues.

The epicenter of corruption in Pakistan is the Punjab Pakistan military......and its 200 odd generals and 300 retired generals. The military have ruled Pakistan for most of the country's history, and have acted as back seat drivers when out of power. It is the only country in the world which has guaranteed millionaire generals.......NO OTHER COUNTRY....has such a system of patronage and corruption...not even the super rich USA.

Zardari bhen is a transitory figure, the Punjab Pakistan military are not.

Allied to this epicenter of corruption is USAID......perhaps $80 billion since 1950, at current 2012 prices. This huge amount has been used to buy and train Pakistan's generals.....to the detriment of Pakistan, the struggling Third World nation state.

This simple fact the good writer below failed to mention. BUT it is one of the main causes of corruption in Pakistan.....the destabilizing influence of the USA.

In the future Pakistan somehow has to cut ALL ties with the USA, and cease from receiving any further aid.

Then turn to China.

But I am pessimistic whether the Anglophile elite have the will to turn their back on gora sahib and embrace their giant Asian neighbor. Like good Gunga Dins, the elite of Pakistan will always crave Western approval and advice.

Cynical politics and massive corruption in Pakistan

A self confessed corrupt and 'mentally insane' individual like Asif Ali Zardari has been surprisingly able in continuing the office of Pakistan's presidency, despite the proven fact of his involvements in series of corruptions during the tenure of his wife, Benazir Bhutto – who had created the ugliest examples of high-profile corruption, thus stealing public funds worth billions of dollars and shifting the same into various hidden accounts in the world. 

Commenting on Pakistani politics and high-profile corruption, The Guardian said, 

"…The corruption charges against Zardari date back to the governments of his late wife, Benazir Bhutto, in the 1990s. Charges against him, the present prime minister, Yusuf Raza Gillani, and other leading politicians and former officials were dropped under the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) of 2007: the product of a deal – allegedly brokered by the Bush administration – between the then military ruler, President Pervez Musharraf, and Bhutto in late 2007, which allowed her to return from exile and take part in elections."

"In December 2009, the Supreme Court declared the NRO unconstitutional. The two years since have seen a slow-motion tug of war between the supreme court and the government. The main opposition party, the Pakistan Muslim League of Nawaz Sharif (PMLN), for quite a while did not push this issue very hard, in part as the result of a truce between its provincial government in Punjab and the Zardari government in Islamabad – but also, it is widely thought, because, given its own record, the PMLN has good reasons to fear judicial activism. The only leading opposition politician consistently to have backed the chief justice's campaign has been Imran Khan – and he has never been in government."

"The truth is that Pakistani politics revolves in large part around politicians' extraction of resources from the state by means of corruption, and their distribution to those politicians' followers through patronage. Radically changing this would mean gutting the existing Pakistani political system like a fish. Nor is it at all certain how popular the process would really be with most Pakistanis."

As a result, a good deal of the proceeds of corruption does get distributed through parts of society, thereby helping to maintain what until recently has been the surprising underlying stability of the Pakistani political system."

"The military is widely seen as relatively immune to corruption, and when it comes to its own internal workings, this is largely true – though it usually ceases to be true when generals go into politics. However, it is vitally important to note that this is in large part because for many decades the military as a whole has acted as a kind of giant patronage network, extracting a huge share of Pakistan's state resources via the defence budget and other concessions, and spending them on itself. Because – to its credit – it has distributed the resulting benefits in an orderly if hierarchical way among its generals, officers, non-commissioned officers and even to a degree privates, it has managed to keep a lid on corruption within the military itself. However, a belief is growing among ordinary soldiers, not just that the generals' perks are immoderate but that in some cases their families are using their connections to make huge corrupt fortunes outside the military."

"As for Zardari, it seems highly doubtful that he can hang on much longer. The chief justice is pursuing him with bulldog determination and the letter of the law is on his side. The military has been infuriated by what it believes are his attempts to ally with Washington against it. It does not want another military government, but it does want a civilian regime that is much more responsive to its wishes. And the opposition want him out before, not after, senate elections that might just enable him to cling to the presidency even if as expected his Pakistan People's party is defeated in general elections due by early 2013. Whether getting rid of Zardari will fundamentally change Pakistani politics, however, is a very different matter."

A major report was published in January 1998 by The New York Times detailing Zardari's vast corruption and misuse of public funds. The report discussed US$200 million in kickbacks to Zardari and a Pakistani partner for a US$4 billion contract with French military contractor Dassault Aviation, in a deal that fell apart only when the Bhutto government was dismissed. It contained details of two payments of US$5 million each by a gold bullion dealer in return for a monopoly on gold imports. It had information from Pakistani investigators that the Bhutto family had allegedly accrued more than US$1.5 billion in illicit profits through kickbacks in virtually every sphere of government activity. 

It also reported Zardari's mid-1990s spending spree, which included hundreds of thousands of dollars spent on jewellery. The arrangements made by the Bhutto family for their wealth relied on Western property companies, Western lawyers, and a network of Western friends. The report described how Zardari had arranged secret contracts, painstaking negotiations, and the dismissal of anyone who objected to his dealings.

Citibank, already under fire for its private-banking practices, got into further trouble as a result of the report. Zardari's financial history was one case study in a 1999 U.S. Senate report on vulnerabilities in banking procedures.

In 2005, Daily Pakistan reported he was the second richest man in Pakistan with an estimated net worth of US$1.8 billion. He amassed great wealth while his wife was Prime Minister. In 2007, he received US$60 million in his Swiss bank account through offshore companies under his name. He was reported to have estates in Surrey, West End of London, Normandy, Manhattan, and Dubai, as well as a 16th century chateau in Normandy. In Britain, he used a common legal device—the purchase of property through nominees with no family link to the Bhuttos. His homes in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad are called Bilawal House I, Bilawal House II, and Zardari House respectively.

 
He bought a 365-acre (148-hectare) 20-bedroom luxury estate in Rockwood, Surrey in 1995 through a chain of firms, trusts, and offshore companies in 1994. The country home's refurbishment abruptly ended in October 1996, shortly before the end of his wife's second term. He initially denied for eight years that he owned the property and no one paid the bills for the work on the unoccupied mansion. Creditors forced a liquidation sale in 2004 and the Pakistani government claimed the proceeds because the home had been bought with money obtained through corruption. However, he stepped in to claim that he actually was the beneficial owner. As of November 2008

I’ve been saying for a while that anyone trying to get you to worry about the presidential election (Webster Tarpley) is deliberately distracting you from what is going on now. The election is a sham. There is no real election. Obama’s left cover is serving them well and they will continue it for another 4 years, keeping the “progressives” in check behind the “we have to support his agenda” mask while they bomb Yemen, Syria, Libya (some more to wipe out the Green Resistance), Somalia, Pakistan and eventually Sudan. 

The crippling austerity measures will “automatically” fall into place during the lame duck session of congress and the left will curl up into the fetal position rocking themselves to sleep while repeating the mantra “he is playing 3D chess while everyone else plays checkers”

Don’t worry about Romney. As I said before, he was picked to lose just like McCain was before him. They don’t like having to rig elections with their Diebold machines… to much heat after 2000 and 2004… so now they pick the least popular person they can and then set out to make him even more unpopular. That’s the trick these days.

You could fix that easily with a printed receipt and changing the laws they put in place to keep from having to show the software that actually counts the votes, but that ain’t gonna happen anytime soon. Oddly enough, listen to Jimmy Carter’s recent comment about another country’s election system…

Though I’ve been saying this for a while now, today I got some confirmation from an unexpected source; neocon apologist David Brooks on Meet the Press.

Brooks was lamenting the fact that Mitt’s campaign is tumbling down the sewer pipe and that he wasn’t very popular to start with. What a surprise. You picked a vulture capitalist to represent your party when the entire country knows that the vulture capitalists are the ones who deliberately wrecked the economy. What a shock that he wouldn’t be very popular among the working class republican voters. Then, to top it all off, the vast useful base of the religious right was asked to get behind… a Mormon. Hmm… I wonder why he isn’t that popular.

“Look at his high unfavorable ratings,” host David Gregory said. “At 50%. The highest of any candidate running in recent memory. This is an image problem that his philosophical statements in this speech in May to fundraisers only exacerbates.” Huffington Post

Of course his statements exacerbate his image problem. They are DESIGNED to. Who do you think filmed that little “47%” comment back in May in the first place and then arraigned to have it leaked? The Obama campaign?

Brooks was citing the Pew Research Center’s study on candidate popularity which clearly shows just how unpopular the republican candidate is. Well, there is a reason for that… they need Obama to appear to “win” so they have to put someone even MORE unpopular up against him for that too happen. And Brooks is certainly “in on it” and thus he is simply doing his part to sell the narrative.

It’s not only that Romney isn’t popular and he never really was (Santorum would probably have won the nomination if it weren’t for two things; 1. Diebold unaccountable electronic voting machines in the primaries and 2. Ron Paul helping take votes from him which ultimately aided Romney) the fact is, he’s been steadily throwing the election since becoming the presumptive nominee.

Personally I think Obama’s disapproval rating is much higher than 42% and Romney’s higher than 50. My guess is, if we were to ever see real numbers on the turnout of this upcoming election, it would be the lowest in recorded history in this country which should qualify it to be voided, but thanks to Diebold and the Help America Vote Act of 2002, you will never know how few eligible people actually take part in what we laughingly call our “democracy”.

So don’t worry about Romney folks. It’s another round of President Peace Prize you have to worry about. Another 4 years of the controlled opposition left and the limited hangout echo chambers sitting around spinning up some kind of justification for their fascist hero and his latest betrayal.

A recent report has revealed that the average wealth and assets of the 400 richest people in the United States worth as much as one eighth of the US economy.

According to the report released by the Forbes magazine, the total wealth of the American 400 super-rich grew 13 percent compared with last year and reached to USD 1.7 trillion.

The report also shows that the average wealth of a person on the list of the American super-rich increased USD 400 million in comparison to last year, reaching USD 4.2 billion, which is a new record.

The Forbes reports further indicated that seventy percent of the 400 people on the list made their fortunes entirely from scratch. It also showed that California has the highest number of rich people in the country.

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, took the first spot on the Forbes list for the 19th year in a row, with a fortune worth of USD 66 billion.

The majority of the people on the list became richer in 2012. Michael Bloomberg, who has been the mayor of New York for three consecutive terms, got richer this year and took the 10th spot on the list. George Soros, Liberal financier and politician, took the 12th place on the list.

Luisa Kroll, an editor at the Forbes magazine, says the widening gap between the “very rich” and the “merely rich” has led to the new record of wealth among the American super-rich.

Economic experts believe that the gap between social classes in the American society is currently larger than any other time.

Mr. Erdogan, It Is A Crime To Train Terrorists At Refugee Camps

Google Trans. doesn't do a very good job with some languages, Turkish is one of those problem languages.  Nonetheless, there are some big developments taking place in Turkey which we need to watch, over Erdogan's deceitful Syrian campaign.  The following article touches upon several of the big headaches for the "Islamist-lite" Turkish P.M., all of them centered on building internal political opposition.  Noisy protests against Syrian gunmen running loose on the streets are taking place in Hatay (SEE: Tension in an unauthorized demonstration in Hatay), the site of the primary Syrian terrorist training camp called Apaydın.  In addition to that, the leader of Turkey's opposition Republican People's Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu, has made that camp the focus of escalating national antiwar sentiments (SEE:  Kilicdaroglu: Apaydin Camp dedicated to training gunmen and sending them to Syria- Cham Press).  Mr. Kilicdaroglu is charging that the camp violates national laws by being a closed camp, that is run by foreigners.  He is demanding a public accounting of that facility, embarassing Erdogan, who flew into a cursing rage at the opposition's actions.  He has since cancelled his next appearance at the UN, claiming that the anti-Kurd campaign is getting too serious.   He is also charging that the camp violates international treaty obligations under the UN convention on the treatment of refugees, specifically, the training of terrorists at refugee camps.  To deflect the heat, he has allowed the Turkish Parliament’s Human Rights Commission to visit Apaydın camp (SEE:  Commission denies rumors of militant training camp at Apaydın).  They have basically "pooh-poohed" the notion, claiming that they saw only women and children.  It would be in keeping with Imperial NGO policy to have used this Human Rights organization to hide behind in Turkey, just as it has used other such groups to whitewash CIA activities in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya and Russia.  International scandal may help to force Erdogan's hand and get these camps closed.]

Syrian conflict could provoke a serious political crisis in Turkey. The course of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, one of the most determined opponents of the regime in Damascus, causing more problems in the most Ankara. The opposition accuses the authorities that their intervention in the Syrian war has destabilized the border. Locals protest against the presence of 83 thousand refugees from Syria and armed opponents of Bashar al-Assad, which is becoming increasingly difficult to get along with. Experts do not rule out that under the pressure of the opponents Government will reconsider its policy toward Syria.

 

The war in Syria has political passions are running high in Ankara. The main opposition force – the Republican People’s Party (CHP) – accused Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu in a failure on the Syrian track, and foretold his imminent resignation. CHP Deputy Chairman Gursel Tekin convinced Ahmet Davutoglu care – the only way for the Turkish government to bring down a wave of criticism.

 

The political crisis in Turkey exacerbates activation Kurdish militants in the south-east. Almost every day new information becomes available about the attacks on Turkish Kurds checkpoints in border areas. According to experts, the ruling Justice and Development Party itself provoked the activity of Kurdish rebels, weakening the central government in Damascus, which was previously held under the control of national minorities.

 

In late August, there was another conflict in Turkey’s political summit – between Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan and the head of the Republican People’s Party Kemal Kilicdaroglu. A group of deputies from the CHP arrived in camp Syrian opposition Apaydyn (Hatay). There, according to various sources, is based on three thousand to five thousand armed opposition. After CHP deputies denied access to the camp, Kemal Kilicdaroglu accused the ruling party and the prime minister personally to create a “closed military base” and violating the constitution.

 

The new round of confrontation on the Syrian issue was in the beginning of September, when in Antakya, the same border province of Hatay, organized a protest against the city flooded armed Syrians. For the Turkish leadership it became alarming signal: the locals many sympathizers Damascus Shiites. Any clashes with Syrian opposition could cause armed conflict in sectarian violence. In such a scenario developing events in neighboring Lebanon and Syria (see “Kommersant” on 27 July).

 

Opponents Tayyip Erdogan strongly urge expelled from Turkey of all Syrians, including their internal security threat. The same opinion is shared by the opposition press. One of these publications – the newspaper “Sozdzhu” – regularly publishes reports that the Syrians “hold in wild terror” in the border of Turkish cities.

Making the rounds on the US television media today (appearing on both Meet the Press and State of the Nation), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu furiously attacked American newspapers for publishing columns critical of his plans for a war with Iran.

Saying the columnists had “set a new standard for human stupidity,” Netanyahu bashed the idea that Iran’s civilian nuclear program was on par with the Soviet Union’s massive nuclear weapons arsenal, insisting Iran’s non-existent weapons were far more dangerous.

“They put zealotry above survival, they have suicide bombers all over the place,” Netanyahu insisted, ignoring that Iran issued religious fatwas banning suicide bombing decades ago and has not been implicated, beyond vague and unsubstantiated allegations, in a single suicide bomb attack in many years.

Netanyahu went on from lying about Iran’s putative suicide bombers to lying about the civilian nuclear program, claiming Iran was “six months” away from nuclear weapons capability despite not having made even a single gram of weapons grade uranium, and warning that if the US doesn’t act soon it will be “too late.”

In 1976, I believe Iran produced 6 million barrels of oil......50% managed by BP at the sales end, and 50% managed by USA companies. Now Iran produces 3.75.1--3.0 million barrels of oil depending on who you believe about the statistics. 

But we can say that there has been a reduction of 36-40% in Iran's crude oil production, since 1976. 

This is because of the corruption and mismanagement of the puppet mullah regime installed by the USA/UK in 1979. 

The mullah regime is rather good at making speeches written by the CIA, with various colors and symbols, but do not know about management of important state resources. The puppet CIA Shah exported nearly 5 million barrels of oil in 1977, whilst the mullahs now export a mere 2 million barrels. The price of oil is rather good.....so the mullahs should invest more in the industry, and export more.

The other factor in the decline of Iranian oil exports is domestic consumption, AND CORRUPTION again. Iranian citizens buy their cheap oil, and then sell it in the Pakistani, Afghan, Turkish black market.

In 1979 Iranian domestic consumption of oil was about 800,000 barrels, but now it is nearly 1.9 million barrels a day......again a great deal goes to waste within Iran. Iran given her $1 trillion economic size ideally should consume about 800,000 barrels a day, a little bit more than neighbor Turkey (700,000), which has a $1.15 trillion economy. This would release 1.1 million barrels for export immediately, if the buyer and markets are found....generating $35 billion plus state revenue for Infrastructure and Industry. It is simply ridiculous that Iran consumes more oil than the $2.3 trillion UK economy.

1. Iran must strive to produce more oil---6 million barrels by 2015. The same production levels as 40 years earlier under the CIA puppet Shah.

2. 5 million barrels of that should be exported by 2015 to mainly Asian markets of China, India, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and SE Asia.

Iran is OPEC's second biggest oil producer: Official

Iran’s representative to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Seyyed Mohammad Ali Khatibi says Tehran is the second biggest producer in OPEC.

Rejecting reports about Iraq replacing Iran as OPEC’s second biggest producer, Khatibi said that according to formal data, the Islamic Republic ranks second.

Rejecting a Reuters report about Iran increasing crude exports to Turkey, Khatibi said, “Data provided by Reuters are not accurate at all. The news agency’s data about increasing or reducing crude export are completely wrong. This news outlet presents data based on political objectives.”

Khatibi reiterated the fact that Iran's crude exports follow a constant pattern.

Iran is OPEC's second-largest crude exporter after Saudi Arabia and sits on the second-largest gas reserves in the world after Russia.

Iran discovered 13 new oil and gas fields with in-place reserves of 14 billion barrels of oil and 45 trillion cubic feet of natural gas during August 2009 to August 2010.

Only between March and December of 2010, Iran discovered seven gas fields and more fields are anticipated to be found in the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2012).

Obummer pays some lip service to this populist aspiration, and has wound down Iraq--with a stay behind Gladio/Salvador option in the works, whilst cranking it up elsewhere in Libya, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, Somalia, Afghanistan...with the 70,000 surge and Iran with sanctions even GWB never thought of .....and in Pakistan destabilisation in Baluchistan, its mineral rich state, and the NWFP, and finally high profile drone attacks or as the nice CIA people like to call them, bug splatting.....women children and innocents mostly.

Demonstrations have occurred in the past few days at US embassies in more than 20 cities across the world to protest the scurrilous California film originally entitled “Desert Warrior” and then “The Innocence of Moslims.”

In an attack designed to coincide with the protests, a Libyan death squad has assassinated the US ambassador to Libya and three of his associates. The US State Department has set up a crisis management center to monitor developments 24 hours a day.

The film in question was obviously designed as a provocation and nothing else. But was this film, as the US media claim, the work of the isolated Cerrito, California resident and Egyptian-American Nakoula Bassely Nakoula. aka Abanob Bassely aka Israeli citizen Sam Bacile, an ex-convict with a drug problem, and a few actors he hired? Persuasive evidence suggests that this is not the case.

Instead, we are dealing with an ambitious international intelligence operation aimed at creating an October Surprise (a few weeks early) to shock world and US public opinion for the purpose of discrediting and “Carterizing” the current tenant of the White House, and installing Netanyahu’s friend Mitt Romney in his place. 

Since the US public identifies Obama as the patron of the color revolutions and military interventions of the “Arab Spring,” attacks on US diplomats, assassinations, and possible hostage taking can be expected to weaken his case for reelection. If Romney prevails, control over US foreign policy would pass to the group of incorrigible warmonger neocons who are the Romney’s handlers for international affairs. The current crisis is a sign that the neocons and their friends are attempting a comeback.

The networks involved in this operation appear to be these:

The CIA Mormon Mafia, featuring top officials across the US intelligence community who are members of Romney’s tightly-knit sect. This group can also be referred to as the Brent Scowcroft faction. Scowcroft, Henry Kissinger’s right-hand man, used his entrenched bureaucratic position over decades to help promote many of his co-religionists. This group wants Romney in the White House because Romney and his transition team boss Mike Leavitt, also a Mormon, are visibly embarked on a policy of favoring Mormons for top positions.

On Sept. 14, Google rejected an appeal by the Obama White House to remove the controversial film worldwide. As Wired magazine noted on May 11, 2012, “former National Security Agency chief Mike McConnell told the Washington Post that collaboration between the NSA and private companies like Google was ‘inevitable,’” and has been widely reported since January 2010. So Google’s refusal to cooperate with Obama tells us about the views of the NSA, and speaks volumes about which presidential candidate the intelligence community is backing.

The Netanyahu Likud During the past week, the reactionary Israeli Prime Minister has intervened blatantly and outrageously in US election-year politics in the attempt to secure the election of Mitt Romney, with whom he has been joined at the hip since the two worked together at the Boston Consulting Group in 1976.

About a week ago, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the United States has no “red lines” in regard to the Iranian nuclear program. Netanyahu replied with an angry outburst, raving that those who have no red lines have “no moral right” to give Israel a red light when it comes to starting a catastrophic aggressive war against Iran. This was interpreted in Washington as a call to vote for Romney. To underline the message, the deputy speaker of the Israeli Knesset appeared on MSNBC cable news one morning to demand immediate US war with Iran. Republican candidates are using this material for their campaigns.

Some observers have pointed out that, while Netanyahu demands that the US specify some future set of circumstances under which war must begin, the Israeli government has never specified any red lines of its own, meaning that Bibi wants Washington to be more Israeli than the Israelis. These brazen actions by Netanyahu have evoked a wave of American resentment and hostility, even in circles which are usually prepared to go along with the Israelis.

Some have also speculated that, since Romney has shown repeatedly that he has no knowledge of world affairs, Netanyahu believes that he would be able to dictate US foreign policy through his friendship with Romney. During the Republican presidential debates, Romney promised to get Netanyahu’s approval for every US action in the Middle East.

US Neocons The pro-Israeli neocons of the Bush-Cheney era have attached themselves to Romney as their main hope of getting back into power. This group includes John Bolton (the likely Secretary of State if Romney wins), Eliot Cohen, Robert Kagan, Robert Joseph, and Dan Senor (who now tells vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan what to say about foreign policy).

Prince Bandar bin Sultan and the Saudi Arabian royal family would likely prefer Romney to Obama. Since the Saudi royals are the paymasters for the majority of the death squads now operating in the Middle East, including Libya and Syria, their support would be valuable in organizing operations like the attack on the US Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens.
 
The French imperialist ideologue Bernard-Henri Lévy, who had strongly advised President Sarkozy to start bombing Libya, is praising Stevens as a “secret craftsman of [Libyan] liberation.”

BHL says Stevens had accompanied Hillary Clinton to a meeting with Libyan rebel chief Mahmoud Jebril on March 14, 2011, and had later helped convince Hillary to call Obama and recommend that he order an immediate start to the bombing. (Le Monde, Sept. 12) Given the Arabic and French language skills of Stevens, he was then well qualified to serve as contact man with the pro-al-Qaeda militant groups of the Benghazi-Derna-Tobruk extremist axis which did much of the fighting against Qaddafi. Many of these armed groups have been transferred by NATO into Syria to fight against President Assad, raising the question of Ambassador Stevens’ role in these currently ongoing operations. Less clear is why he should be singled out at this time. Perhaps he was a witness whose testimony could have proved embarrassing later.

On Tuesday evening, Stevens had left the US consular compound and taken refuge in a secret safe house nearby. Somehow, the well-trained attackers knew of the existence of this safe house and directed professionally accurate mortar fire against these premises. How did they know where Ambassador Stevens was hiding?


We would need to ask the CIA and the Saudis.

Nakoula/Bacile served almost two years in jail after conviction for identity theft and bank fraud involving credit cards. He is currently out on parole, and one of the conditions is that he not use a computer. If authorities can prove he posted the incendiary video, they can immediately revoke his parole and send him back to prison for four years. Nakoula/Bacile looks like a patsy - specifically a drug informant. (Peliske and Daly, Daily Beast, Sept. 14)

As for the film, it would appear to be the handiwork of a well-known Islamophobic network reputedly inspired by US intelligence. According to the Los Angeles Times, the permit for the film originally called “Desert Warrior” was requested by a “Christian nonprofit” calling itself Media For Christ of Duarte, California. The blogger Panglozz of The Daily Kos reports that Media For Christ is owned by Joseph Nasrallah Abdelmasih, an Egyptian-born Coptic Christian activist and anti-Moslim firebrand. Nasrallah was prominent in the summer 2010 campaign to prevent the building of a mosque and Islamic community center not far from the site of the former World Trade Center in lower Manhattan. Nasrallah was a speaker at a rally held at Ground Zero on September 11, 2010, to protest the mosque. This rally was organized by a well-connected Islamophobic organization known as Stop the Islamization of America (SIOA).

The main spokesperson and organizer for SIOA is Pamela Geller, a notorious professional Islamophobe and the hostess of the Atlas Shrugs blog. Geller, despite her venom, enjoys access to the US mainstream media. The SIOA rally just mentioned was also addressed via video link by Ambassador John Bolton, a top neocon, close adviser to Romney, and widely touted as a possible Secretary of State in a future Romney regime. Another speaker at this rally was the Netherlands xenophobic politician Geert Wilders, who also wanted to block the mosque. Wilders’ party has just suffered heavy losses in the Netherlands elections earlier this week.

Bolton took a leading role in trying to turn the Stevens assassination against Obama this past week. Bolton told a Washington, DC radio station: “I’ve said for 3½ years the President doesn’t care about national security. He doesn’t think the world is terribly threatening. I think a weak reaction, a failure to demonstrate American power and resolve, will help see this stretched throughout the region.” Bolton warned particularly that a new hostage crisis would replay the “destruction of the Jimmy Carter administration,” this time at Obama’s expense. 1.5 million barrels a day crude oil sale is worth about $50 billion annually, depending on prices, and if the Iranians were to import the same amount of goods from China in barter agreements, under a trade based on good faith (You buy, I buy-equilibrium), for machinery and capital equipment, infrastructure development and defense equipment....then the trade between the two countries could reach $100 billion very very soon.

All it requires is political will on both sides.

Iran benefits from having the Israeli led sanctions being neutralized, and the Iranian economy recovering.

China as the major oil purchaser from Iran becomes defacto the "Guardian" of the country, exerting considerable moderating influence and leverage within it.

If a mere 25% of China's oil imports come from Iran, it does not make China any more vulnerable than say relying on Saudi/Angola oil imports......which constitute 26% of China's total imports of about 6 millions barrels a day......though imports of crude oil fluctuate depending on the strength of the Chinese economy.

Oil imports can be a political tool for China and buying influence into one of the most important countries in the Middle East. By contrast China trying to gain influence in Saudi Arabia will be very difficult......given the history, and background of the country.

Oil is political tool in the West, whose price is artificially manipulated, and so oil can also be a political tool in Iran.

The question remains how Iran will persuade China to buy more of its crude oil, which replaces Saudi Arabia as the number one supplier of Chinese crude oil imports.

Iran would like to increase annual trade with China to $100 billion, according to Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi.

Rahimi made the remarks during a meeting with the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress, Wu Bangguo, in Tehran on Monday.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to increase its economic and trade ties with China to $100 billion,” he said, adding that Tehran wants to raise the level of its interactions with China in the oil and gas sectors.

Wu described Iran as an important and effective country in the region, noting, “China’s relations with Iran are considered a major priority.”

Wu is on a three-day official visit to Iran, which he has made upon the invitation of Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani.

Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual oil consumption -- nearly one million barrels per day.

Trade between the two countries is currently dominated by Iran's energy exports, while the main Chinese exports to Iran include machinery and textiles among other consumer goods.

Neocon Triumvirate Harangue Globalist Forum, Call for Killing Iranians and Syrians

Consummate warmonger and perennial Senate fixture John McCain stepped out of the super-secret globalist Ambrosetti Forum in Italy the other day to take Obama to task for not killing more Muslims and Arabs and for dragging his feet on attacking Iran.

“In a way it’s almost like watching a train wreck,” said McCain about Obama’s approach to killing Persians.

 

McCain cites Libya as the template that should be used in Syria. More than 30,000 people were killed in Libya after NATO engineered the destruction of the country.

McCain also expressed frustration over the RNC and its focus on the economy. He believes the government needs to get back on track and start the bloody process of directly bombing and killing.

“The election is about jobs and the economy, but a failed … national security policy over time is going to lead to significant domestic problems,” he mused.

He wasn’t, of course, talking about the domestic problems invariably created when government cranks up the national debt to pay for fancy and exorbitant war machines and the endless deployment of men and material to backwaters like Afghanistan and Yemen where CIA created threats thrive.

“It’s the job of presidents and candidates to lead and articulate their vision for America’s role in the world. The world is a more dangerous place than it’s been since the end of the Cold War, and so I think the president should lead and I think candidates for the presidency should lead and talk about it, and I’m disappointed that there hasn’t been more.”

On Friday, McCain and fellow warmongers Lindsay Graham and Joe Lieberman, fresh from a tour the of the “volatile Middle East,” harangued the secret globalist confab in Italy. The “trio of self-styled mavericks won European fans by criticizing the dysfunction in American politics, then challenged their audience with a call for far greater U.S. activism in the Middle East – particularly aiding Syria’s rebels and on Iran,” the Associated Press reports.

Details of the proceedings at the globalist Ambrosetti Forum are secret due to the “Chatham House Rule.” However, as we have noted, the globalists are in favor of military intervention in Syria and Iran.

McCain and his fellow warmongers were basically preaching to the choir. The event merely provided yet another venue for an endless propaganda campaign designed to soften the American people up for the inevitability of engineered mass murder under the rubric of the global war on manufactured terror.
